Sentinel’s c.M has a dead spot on top of his head where there’s no hit box any way.
Also, if you are against Hulk or Sentinel where they have the options of canceling an armored move into another armored move. Instead of trying to punish the 2B or 5C and just running into 5S or gamma charge, just do EX siesmo. Yeah it costs a meter, but at that point there’s nothing they can do.
EX Seismo can lose in this situation against Sentinel - the projectile eating properties of the c.M plus the super armor can negate it sometimes. Something to keep in mind.
interesting… i’ve seen EX.TK trade/lose to armor (can usually still combo off a trade due to crumple), but never EX.Seismo. can anyone else confirm this or chime in?
I’ve never had EX Seismo lose to armor. In theory it shouldn’t happen, but you know how these games work, sometimes stuff just happens, there are too many possible interactions to account for all of them.
It’s definitely happened to me on multiple occasions, so I asked Chrisis about it. I had forgotten about the projectile eating properties of c.M, as soon as he reminded me it made sense. Try it in training mode.
armor is armor. it will take any kind of hit if it is singular… i am not sure what happens if you bionic arm sentinel’s cr.M but sentinel generally gets raped in that match anyways.
ex tk makes viper invincible but armor is armor, it takes more than 1 hit to break sentinel’s cr.M and put him in hitstun animation. ex seismo seems to be multiple hits layered on at once hence beating armored moves clean. i believe if you hit one ex seismo on someone you immediately get a hit count of 3 or something. someone confirm plox. i could just be having a wacky memory today D;

How many times do I have to say it? I have confirmed it (then Chrisis double confirmed it since I seem to need to name drop to get anyone to listen), and if don’t believe me go into training mode, record Sentinel doing c.M, and EX seismo. Timed properly, Sentinel doesn’t give a fuck about EX seismo. It’s not common, but it happens and you should at least be aware of the potential for it to happen so you can throw out another one if need be.
EX.Seismo loses to Akuma tatsu sometimes. Straight eats up all 3 seismo’s and then hits you.
Because it destroys all projectiles. The reason it some time’s fails is that the tatsu hitbox kinda turns on and off between Akuma’s rotations. It is possible to hit that gap, but I wouldn’t rely on it.
Yeah. ‘Sometimes it fails’ is actually kind of rare for some reason. I know it goes left/right/left/right on the hit box really fast but I have a feeling when the hitbox is on one side there is still a smaller hitbox on the other side that just munches on seismo’s. Fricken black hole for projectiles.
I still want to know how it’s hitbox stuffs jump ins like it does… fuck tatsu…
It’s not as bad as it was in the last game… but still bad. With Viper I can actually throw him at the hanging leg if hes doing a jump tatsu. I can’t do it all the time but I can catch it every once in a while. OS into a block.
If its Akuma on point, often times I’ll just say, fuck it, and do EC>DT and just kill the jerk. Not efficient, but it is effective.
I’m having a bad character crisis at the moment but I’ll stick with Viper forever lol. Problem is I can’t decide which of my teams have good synergy so I’m always going back and forth. My teams are Viper/Mag/Sent, Viper/Trish/Ammy and Viper/Task/Strider. Can someone help me out with the best choice? :c
I found the best string for dealing with Sent c.M as long as you’re in range is box dash forward j.L, j.M. Her box j.L doesn’t make her vulnerable hit box as large so it makes stuffing him with the j.M into combo more consistent.
You should always jump in with jA when you don’t have some kind of frame advantage.
Ok so now I understand why Strider assist specifically is so good for Viper. The fact that her seismos cause hard knockdown state when combined with Strider assist is fucking hilarious.
It turns her seismos into real power footsies that can shut down characters and give you free room to land combos. Of course I like to have another neutral assist so I just have hidden missiles as another assist that covers the aerial and locks down for mix ups.
I think her seismos are strong but until she gets like 2 or 3 meters I don’t think they’re super scary. It’s not like lightning conversions from full screen with Zero. That is until you give her Strider assist and now every other seismo can cause hard knockdown state.
This is gonna be my main team for sure. All 3 characters I like…Doom gets a hard knockdown assist against aerial opponents…and Dark Strider. LOL. This shit is gonna be good.
