The big issue with Arrow kick is that it doesn’t really go all that far…
Also, in my labwork for my Jill vid, I’ve determined that (unless you just want to DHC glitch and forget it), there are actually a fairly limited number of possible teammates for Jill, one of which is Viper.
As I’m working on my Jill vid, I’ve come up with a setup with Dante (for Jill/Viper/Dante) and a few other assists that, provided you do it perfect, will guarantee a phoenix kill off a snap, or other characters if they’ve taken some damage, or if you have X factor lvl 1, just a guaranteed kill.
So, I no longer feel so bad about jill viper no helping those bad matchups. They are all low heath characters, don’t even play the matchup, just kill them.
Just gotta wait for my software in the mail so I can edit this SOB together.
Jill. Jill gets alot from having two assist behind her (an OTG and a support), plus she builds 2 bars a combo if you go the meter-less route. She needs to have that meter for the machine gun, but that still leaves plenty left for Viper to abuse her EX Seismo. However, DHC’s from jill to Viper are pretty bad.
I’m gonna try to get the vid done this week, I’m trying to figure out how I’m gonna organize it atm.
i see so the team is like viscants team format battery/user/assist. Yea I can viper doing well without an assist and Viper/Amaterasu. Just gotta wait for ultimate though. hoping nemisis or ghost rider work well with Viper/Jill
BK or TK assist. She’s not the greatest Anchor but she gets in with that new found speed. Plus you can go air BK crazy with fast almost instant overheads into combos. Mind you they’re also cross-ups.
Shes a DECENT anchor. Any top tier character is only gonna get better in level 3 xfc. The chip her seismos do i great.
There are better anchors though. For Zero/Doom I would go with Dormammu. Dorm can do some nasty zoning with plasma beam assist. Plus Dormammu in level 3 xfc is absurd amount of chip. If your opponent burns x factor early, just save as much meter as you can with Dorm and go nuts. You can easily chip out 2 characters and sometimes 3.
viper/x-23 is great in terms of starting combos since blockstring => call ankle slice assist, tk burn kick is a legitimate unblockable setup. i’m not entirely sure if the reverse setup works as well, but i’m assuming it should.
in terms of DHC’ing, viper => x-23 works just fine with either of x-23’s lv1’s, and i’d think dirt nap can be straight up combo’d from the fall at the end of of burst time as well. x-23 to viper, you have to cut rage trigger short, but weapon x prime should work just fine.
as for what assist can universally help viper and x-23, i’d say sentinel is the best bet. glitch is also available between x-23 and sentinel as well.
X-23 is best with Jam Session, but she has the same issue as Jill in that she needs help to get in. She trade Machine Gun spray for her pseudo airdashes, but it’s the same issue.
The big difference is that X-23’s assists don’t to crap for Viper. That isn’t a huge deal though as Viper is the complete package.
Yea x-23 with dante is pretty hard to beat. I was just thinking. I wana try out different teams before ultimate comes out. =)
Ill try out x-23. I need to wait for my copy. For some reason there is a perfectly circular scratch on my disc and its not working anymore but I ordered one from amazon which only cost be 15 bucks.
I’ve been dropping some time into V.Joe. Since that is another character quite unexplored or seen played. I don’t know I attract to characters with little representation. I don’t mind playing the more popular ones if they interest me. I had to force myself to enjoy Dante, but now that I play him hes fun.
People will dissagree with me but, in my mind Jill has better:
Mixup (neutral and setups)
Supers
DHC glitch
Assists
lvl3 (Yes I did say that)
X-23 has better:
Mobility (slightly, but it is better thanks to her options and super)
Simplicity (I usually don’t mention this, but some of my Jill setups seem to confuse the game, not just my mind)
The way I play Jill is like Wesker. i’ve got lots of setups that all loop into one and other, it’s a vortex if you will.
I know a really good throw option select against Jill. It really limits her mix-up potential off a blocked hit into feral stance teleport. Oh yeah and you don’t get hit by her somersault with the OS if they try that.
Oh yeah FlyingVe start using from mid/close screen random jump instant medium. If you happen to catch someone close enough to you you will hit them if they’re pressing forward or if they’re trying to jump in on you (which is the worst idea against jill) you get a free loop.
