Im thinking about adding strange for my Viper/Dante combo in UMvC3. he looks like he is too fun to play.
I want to try all the new characters, I don’t know enough about their assists/DHCs and matchups yet to think of how they’ll be for Viper though.
Well assuming Dante Jam Sessions stays the same. Then thats the only best friend Viper needs lol you can basically plug about anyone into that third spot. Sure some are better choices than others, but as long as Viper has her hubby by her side she welcomes anyone to the party lol.
I just remembered this vid:
has some Trish/Doom stuff
thanks for the vids. Im definetly gonna try to pick those combos up. btw what do you guys do against super skrull. I have a hard time when they do the meteor smash stuff and cover it with drones. I dont know the answer to that attack
I’ll be honest, every time I fight skrull (know someone with an amazing skrull), it’s less that what he’s doing is really amazing, and more that I have no idea what’s going on. I’m just walking along and BAM he’s falling from the sky. Also, Skrull hits like a tank.
Same here dude, Quick question dont wanna get off topic but which way do you block when he does that? The fall of sky punch. Always wondered never found out.
Hmm… it might be able to cross you up, I’m not sure, I just jump back and chicken block, that way it’s not a problem.
Makes sense that explains why When I tried blocking in either direction i’d still get hit and be all wtf, I was beginning to think it was unblockable unless you dash away from it lol. thanks.
Most Skrulls are easy to read if you zone them. The less good ones will get impatient and go to the comet drop punch thingy. As FlyingVe said just chicken block it. Also it helps to learn where he will be on the screen. Most hardly ever use the mid-screen strength so I tend to elude toward that area when i see that move come out. Your good skrull’s don’t use the move so much and if they do they use it with an assist (most broken cross-up next to wolverine IMO)
it does crossup. What the guy is doing is he is calling sentinel assist and then using skrulls meteor smash so make it safe. I figured with Viper on point, I can summon Trish to low voltage to take care of sentinel and find something for viper to do to counter it. I have a way to deal with it with sentinel. I just use st. heavy and use its super armor to absorb the hits
You’ll have to try this, but, might Burst Time stop the meteor smash cold? It actually has invul frames a frame 6, it goes up, and I think the burning kick break the drones. But don’t quote me on that last part.
Burst Time will stop meteor smash cold of timed right yes. And on the first frame after freeze frame it hits the character (cant even x-factor cancel the first hit.) Does this skrull send sentinel out as an assist and then immediately goes into meteor smash? if that is so then i would try and find an opportunity to not let it cross up (jump back when you see it) on block or whiff it is an unsafe move so all you have to do when you back-up safely on recovery or whatever as long as Skrull is on the ground EX.TK. It will go through all sent drones, Drag Skrull and might hit sentinel.
he mixes the timing up between when he does meteor smash. Sometimes he dashes and then goes for it and other times he just goes for it right away. I think I might try to counter with EX. TK. it sounds like it will work well. I can advance guard to move him forward and then go for it. I also have to test this but I think I can use trish to counter skrull by placing hopscotch and then dashing backwards. also Burst tim emight work but if he cancels it into inferno would inferno beat burst time?
You meantioned he was using Drones to cover skrull. I assume that he does mixup while the drones are keeping you locked down?
Here’s some BS that viper can do, just mash on EX Siesmo while the drones are going. The drones aren’t a true blockstring, so the EX seismo will come out. Since it’s a projectile it will destroy any remaining drones, it’s advantage on block, and in the likely event that they are hit, they die…
Sentinal assist is worthless against Viper… LOL.
Yea He does mixups while pinning me down but his main mixups are switching between j. down heavy and meteor smash.
Btw I think I found another really good Viper team.
Viper(Seismo)/Trish(Low Voltage)/Doom(Hidden Missles).
I tried this team out yesterday and it was awesome. I found hidden missles to be better than drones for my team. It lets me extend my combos with Trish as well as zone people fullscreen. And with the relaunch you posted FlyingVe I think hidden missles is the next best thing for me besides Jam sesson
Testing the practicality of focus traps Repulsor Blast vs Jam Session, I found.
1)Both hold long enough for a lvl 3
2)Repulsor scales ALOT less, should they get hit by the asist
3)Repulsor covers more area horizontal area than Jam session.
-and the big one-
4)Repulsor Blast pulls them DOWN on block. It might even ground them depending on timing.
In short, Repulsor blast in incredible for snap setups. In fact, I’m not sure you can get out with out an invulnerable air move…
Just reading where Skrull Pop out of the sky is hard enough, So unless your in the corner putting in the input for Burst time might come out wrong and you’ll just get a BK or a Thunder knuckle, When I find myself midscreen and I see Skrull do his Meteor Drop It’s either I’m wave dashing in the direction where he was standing or I take a chance and guess which way to block. Whats scary about is that he gets a Guaranteed Hyper off of it easy!
If you want a universal option for it focus attack as that fake hit confirms for them to go into whatever their preferred on hit reaction is and you can cancel into either an EX or Emergency Combination depending on where the drones are at and which side the enemy ended on.
Hey guys and girls, i recently moved onto creating a C.Viper team with Dante (Jam) and Hagger (Lariat) backing her up in their respective slots (Haggar as a fail anchor and simply there to be the OP assist for Dante and C.Viper.)
I’ve made my combos and broken most of the execution barrier for C.Viper [Apart from Seismo FADC]. Being a dante player from day 1 it wasn’t too hard…
ANYWAYS. Nice to meet y’all on these forums.
**So here are my questions and problems i’ve encountered so far, any help would be incredibly appreciated:
- How to set up an ‘unblockable’ focus attack in the corner with dante jam session.**
What should be my inputs and the order in which i do them? It seems that whenever i simply call the assist and charge the focus attack, if they block it extremely high up as they first enter then the focus whiffs of hits their foot making it difficult to combo off of (best combo off of spinning state?)
If they get hit by it upon entry, i can’t find a way to keep them in a combo as even doing an EX. Seismo doesn’t reach high enough to clip their feet.
Is there something i’m missing like using a seismo to lock them in place before calling the assist?
2. Off of an air throw (out of a corner) what should my combo be?
It seems very iffy after the box dash launch H. dj. H. S. Even if i dash and Ex. Seismo about 75% of the time i can’t triangle dash in time to catch them and relaunch them (they’re too far?). Should i be using an ex flame kick somewhere or an assist instead?
4. For Dante users: How do you set up an unblockable with flame kick?
So basically the only logical way i’ve found to do this would be (with dante) LMH stinger, bold cancel teleport+Assist, whiff any high attack and go straight for a low attack (approximately the same time as the flame kick hits).
BUT! if the low attack hits the opponent is then put in a juggle state high up which (for the life of me i’ve tried) i can’t connect any of dante’s other normals to.
Is there something i’m missing / another way to use this assist for unblockables?
5. When fighting against keep away characters ala Taskmaster, Doom or Dorm when they have good assists, i have huge trouble getting in, who would you recommend putting on the third slot with C.Viper and Dante to help this situation out?
Thanks loads in advance to anyone that can help.
