I believe the only player who runs this is chrisis and from what i saw it didnt have much going on at neutral as he used the uppercut assist but all the combo’s lead to dead characters, viper and zero are self sufficient to a good degree anyway so i think it would gel nicely if they both abused an anchor assist like strider etc, ill leave it to the others to give better insight

alright cuz i was thinking along the lines of zero {uppercut}, viper { burnkick}, dorm {dark hole}

Honestly you might want a stronger projectile assist for Viper and Zero. Like Plasma Beam.

I agree not having the coverage is a bitch makes viper susceptible to alot of bs, i think missiles is better if thats the route he goes down, dark hole is a bit too weak

I’ve decided to use Viper/MODOK, but I’m having trouble finding the best anchor possible for this team.

I’m currently using Amaterasu, debating using Strider, and I’m unsure about how Doom would do… Cold Star, Vajra, and Hidden Missiles are all extremely useful for Viper and MODOK.

Hidden Missiles is the best assist for both, but Doom is the worst anchor. Vajra and Cold Star are both very good (but worse than Missiles, I think), and Amaterasu and Strider are both very good anchors.

So which of the three (or even someone else) should I use?

ive been rocking viper modok strider, working off strider assist alone with modok has proved quite difficult for me, im thinking of switching to cold star myself, modok being 2nd is good for tac kills etc but when viper dies he is really in a bad spot and its been losing me alot of matches, lvl 3 strider is not killing 3 characters too so i have to switch if i want better chances, your best bet is to go with doom tbf modok without amplified zoning is quite booty and a disservice but give it a go and post results tbh!

I think I’ll be using Viper/MODOK/Doom then… what assist should MODOK have? Right now I’m using Psionic Blast, but would Balloon Bomb or Barrier be a larger help in the neutral game? (And I don’t think Psionic Blast can be used for combo extension in the same way that other beams can, right?)

Ive been rocking psionic blaster i use it as a second optic blast so i would do a 3 rapid seismo’s, focus dash and call assist during the dash, do another seismo and super jump release the optic blast, psionic blaster will come out during the 4 seismo and its a nice way to get in :slight_smile: but you can use any assist for that it doesnt do much amazing apart from a tad faster than the other beams my only tiny qualm is that small characters can crouch under psionic which is ass but its a nice anti air-er at times which i like better

as for combos so round the corner you can get 950-1m out side the corner u’ll scratch 500-650k lol. with the way psionic sends them flying i havent managed to find a consistent combo for midscreen, in the corner you get a nice standard relaunch though, modok’s assist placement is so bad kinda like iron mans unibeam, unlike dooms who stands behind you, you will be susceptible to happy birthday’s if you dont move or space yourself correctly which sucks

Come to think of it barrier would be quite sick in the neutral if you can master seismo placement, since seismo is a bit slower than some projectiles and you get screwed when it whiffs viper could have a derp card with barrier out so you can go cray with seismo’s once you have the different types down buut you miss out on combo ability, I think that it can be mitigating by learning how to burn kick feint with viper which will take a while to master though :frowning: and to work around.

ive seen a few viper resets with balloon bomb and her burnkick but when i tested it out i could barely combo of the assist which is balls, you’d need an amazing viper to spend an assist on basic-ish resets tbh

id say barrier-for neutral(they will have to approach you)
Ballooon bomb- resets (combo’s if you are willing to find any)
Blaster- for an ordinary beam with semi anti air properties aka optic blast

One thing im learning whilst playing this duo is that this game is merciless and if your neutral game isnt perfect you are fucked, these two characters are full time characters aswell so itll be quite a few extra training mode shifts you will be doing whilst your friends are derping with vergil u_u you can take solace in the fact when you lose(probably alot) you will be forced to learn and you’ll have some honour lol your wins will be fully deserved

I’ve been currently experimenting with Capt. America/ Viper, Viper/ Dante and Viper/ Wolverine but I can’t seem to find a solid anchor that would fit these teams. I know Ammy would go well with some of these teams but are there any alternatives?

viper (burn kick) / dante (jam sesssion) / strider (vajra)

so i decided on three teams depending on match ups

  1. Viper { burn kick }, Magnteo { E.M. disruptor }, Doom { missiles}
  2. Dorm {liberation}, viper {burn kick} , Mangeto { e.m. disruptor}
  3. Viper { burn kick } , magneto { em disruptor } , vergil { rapid slash }

anyone have anything i should learn for the team synergy asspects between chars? like what combos, set ups, tech , resets that would beifit each team? thanks guys

I tried the liberation team but with strider assist instead of mags, I really like the liberation assist worked nicely for plowing teleporters but when it came to combos all was perfect in the corner but midscreen nothing was practical the hitbox on the uncharged was really awkward. liberation gives some nice unblockable possibilities but when i tried they required a bit of effort so i didnt pursue to hard, theres nice tech with dorm’s sphere flame juggling from vipers emergency combination but thats a bit of hard work to get a soft knockdown and not too practical without alot of t- mode time.

your best bet is the first team magneto doom is a solid duo they can bring a match back too if you get screwed with viper too you can watch f champ etc and see that so dont even need explain tech probably one of the best duo’s. Viper can capitalize off all of them too so you’ll be golden

Zero and Viper have no synergy together.

Combo off Ryuenjin hit with:

  • j.:h: xx :h: Burning Kick (early)
  • delayed j.:h: xx :l: Burning Kick ~ :s: > delayed j.:h: > delayed j.:s: > land > s.:h:
  • anything into EX Burning Kick if you want to waste the meter.

There’s other setups depending on what Zero kills with. Still experimenting with that.

So the Zero/Viper duo goes like this in steps:

  1. Start of the round.
  2. Zero gets a hit, kills the character with a Lightning Loop.
  3. Tags in Viper. Unblockable the second character. Kill with Lightning Loop DHC or waste XF.
  4. Unblockable next character. Kill with Lightning Loop DHC or waste XF.

Experimenting what could be the third character. Strider (Vajra), Doom (Plasma Beam), Sentinel (Drones), Ammy (Cold Star) all seem good.

does spiderman have any synergy with viper? just wondering if he did that would be sweet cuz he’s my fav :slight_smile:

I couldn’t tell you personally. I feel like its possible. Viper on point and spiderman second You could do some damn interesting combos with them. And when I was messing with them you could pull off some stupid crazy resets with those two with web ball. Web swing could help with combos and I know damn well you could have some tough but sick combos with spider sting assist.

Spiderman/Viper is awesome for Ultimate web throw resets. Basically do your max combo then magic series into knockdown. The timing is rough on this too but doable and annoying as hell. Using seismic hammer assist when you murder that hit stun deterioration before knockdown as soon as you do the assist you Ultimate web throw and when they get popped by seismic hammer they immediately flip out into it. 300k damage dash forward seismic hammer to OTG into death or web sling otg.

I only messed with the two for about a week but there is a lot of potential there. If you have Parker down already i would definitely give it a try! You would have one of the sickest teams if you pushed the tech to the limits. I know it would be a hell of a lot of work but if you can get it down… damn son. That is a team synergy i would still like to try.

Oh yeah they can DHC in and out of each other perfectly. So thats something very good.

Edit: You make me want to try spidey/Viper out again. Fuck!

No kidding…after reading everything you said I wanna try that team too haha

considering picking up viper dante strider, i would imagine weasel shot would be best?

i’d say it depends on the match-up and what assist the other person has.

honestly cant even think of a reason to use jam session with strider on deck.
