MSP = two pixies and projectile for example…

i’d say it’s more like this… fuck the rest

power, anti air, trap, rtsd, projectile, primary / secondary support to main

the first two are essential… you need one character to give you power, and one to protect ur ass from rtsd, however, some ppl like mss - a still, yet i don’t understand why. drones are more effective

in some cases, you get two for the price of one, example would be sentinel’s ground assist, being aaa and a powerhouse character

eg. msp

mag is the power here, and the rtsd… that’s why if he dies, the game’s done. storm psy is nothing special at all.

storm plays projectile and rtsd here, her role isn’t nearly as important, but she gives magneto a lot. 1) safe tag out option via dhc. 2) backed up by the best character in the game! 3) she gives magneto a buffer to get some life back. 4) she’s great at building meter. she’s point support for magneto

psylocke provides defense for magneto, and sets up for his infinites.

in the end, magneto can get away with losing one of them, but if he dies, the team’s toast, unless you’re name’s yipes…

Went on kind of a hiatus from Spidey (went and played somemore 3s, make sure I didn’t lose my touch) and it feels good to be back. After playing around somemore I like Spidey-aaa Cable-proj Doom-aaa. Depending on who i’m playing I may use Doom first, cause some damage and put him back at 3rd. Then use Spidey. I believe that Cable is suppose to be on aaa but I like that he can add pressure when Spidey’s cornering someone (only if Doom is badly hurt). Question is will Cable be good for this team if I decide to play competitivly. I would be using Storm but it’s a bitch to be trying some of her moves on a pad since my stick isn’t working.

I would think so if you have a solid Cable/Doom. I would keep cable as an aaa though because your probably going to need a better aaa than doom. Spiderman is a great battery so don’t worry about putting him first.

I’m the 1st Bug post of the new year! So I like all the mid-low tier characters but I’m especially partial to Gambit, Hulk, Wolvie, and of course the Bug. No one in these posts ever really mention any practical use for the web-throw. I use all the characters, but prefer Spidey w/ at least 1 good anti-air ie: Cable, Cyc, or even Hulk dash type. I try and take full advantage of his web-throw seeing as how it does monster damage if mashed (it’s like a super), It’s easily set up w/an AA assist. Dash in (or jump in combo) clk, hk + AA assist, fp web-throw and mash like shit. Or Me being the Hulk player I am, dash in lk,lk (or c lp,c lp) hk + Hulk dash assist, fp web throw mashhh… w/cable, cyc AA assists you can get 2 c lp or 2 lk before the hk but you have to dash in deep. Anyhow most experienced webheads prolly’ already know all this shit but I figured I get ery’bodys opinion on this. I know his web-throw has bad lag if you miss or if its blocked, but with a well timed assist it’s gauranteed!..DO YOUR JOB!

why would you mash web throw? does it do more damage? i thought that was only in msh vs sf…

anywho…

i use the throw for two things…

  1. zoning purposes
  2. comboing into doom rocks

Hell yea the web-throw is mashable, and when mashed it does super caliber damage, try it out in practice mode…OUCH!

Dose IM with AAA and Spidey go well together? You can really set up some flashy n damaging combos with them. I usually use CA or Doom, IM, and Spidey.

here’s a nice little combo: Dash in, c.lk,c.mk,s.fk + IM Assist, sj.FP, FP WB, MS.

You want to hit the sj.FP as early as possible.

here a simple combo i find tat does decent dmg.

wp,wk,mp,mk (land) c.wk,mk, hk (call capcom), sj. wp,wk,mp,mk (webball) and then air throw.

and if u call cable anti air and it hits ur oppent, u can quickyly jump and hit them with wk,wp,mk (land) jump wk, mk, hk

i was trying a combo in this thread : jump lp lk lp lk dash in lp lp sj lk lp lk lpwebball lp lk lk land lp lk lp lk webswing

but im finding it hard to keep the combo counter running, as it stops after the webball
what am i doing wrong?

richard_ thereason your combo isn’t working is because you’re hitting the lp too late. i found the easiest way to do it is this…

launcher, sj, lp, lk, lp (hold), qcf+let go of lp (basically, negative edge the web ball), then tap lp again. it’s more immediate than double tapping, now you just release and tap again.

a couple combos i’ve come up with…

lk, lp, sj, lk, lk, lp web ball, lk, lk, land, lk, lp, sj, lk, lk, lp web ball (for some reason, the web ball doesn’t immediately shatter, i think due to juggling), lk, web swing.

c.lk, c.lk, s.hk call bbhood projectile, sj, hp, hp web ball, whatever… an air combo or maximum spider does about the same damage in the end, and it’s about 50% life on cable…

PHELPS!!!: how do you get the launcher, call doom, sj, magic, web swing xx maximum to work? i’ve gotten it a few times, but it usually misses. is there a specific timing you do?

It all depends on when you call Doom. If you call him at the same time you launch, you can only do sj. lk, lk xx web swing xx cammy that poser I’m the original maximum spida!

Buuuutttt, if you call Doom slightly after you launch and slightly before you jump, you can do sj. magic xx web swing xx maximum spida!

You’re not the only one who beasts with Spidey though…

Stupid damaging Spidey/Gambit shit:

st. hk + Gambit-a xx lk web swing, Gambit hits…then: hk relaunch into aircombo, xx maximum spider. This does about 55-60% on cable if you end with super. It is hard to get on bigs though, that’s where the following comes in handy.

st. lk + Gambit-a, st. lk, st. hk, Gambit hits…then one of the following: lp web throw(mashed), hk launch into some air combo, any one of spidey’s supers. Good for bigs. It is also the best set up for Ultimate web throw for my team, Spidey/Gambit/Doom. Free 60% off of one light kick please :).

Gambit on point:

st/cr. lk + Spidey AAA, st. hk xx lp trick card then either…xx cajun explosion away from your opponent, or lp kinetic card (xx royal flush if you have meter). With the Cajun Explosion, you must cancel it right when the lp trick card hits to get full hits. What ends up happening when you cancel it is, that they will fall forward into the first light pillar instead of falling backwards. The double card sets up a 50/50 wake up depending if they roll or not.

That’s some random stuff, try it out and see how you guys like it.

I usually hit the assist right before the launch, so c.lk>>c.lk>>assist>>s.hk. If you think your going whiff the Maxium Spider, aim up and you should appear at the bottom of the screen before your oppenent. Not to mention it still gives you enough time to recover and jump up and throw them.

Hey, a while back you guys were talking about a relaunch combo, but nobody ever posted it. Does anyone know how it goes? Or any Spidey relaunch combos? Sans assists. Though those gambit assited combos are great! Speaking of which, in the corner with gambit cr.lk, cr.sp, call spidey capture assist, cr.fk, fp, assist hits - whatever the hell you want. Usually super DHC super for me. You might not need the cr.fk, but I’m pretty sure you do.

no, it’s not an infinite… sometimes, i can get two of the rejump parts on collossus, but he gets too high.

keep in mind, that spider man’s arial lp has the same effet as magneto’s d+lk

I play mags/thanos/spidey for fun. mags/storm/spidey for a bit of seriousness.

Spidey AAA works like a ghetto psylock, since his hits on a grounded opponent knocks them on their back. and If they’re airborn, I like to cross them up during the air flip and go from there.

LOL. I want to test some stuff with him now.

Random shat:

stand at the max distance a web throw will hit. Any further back and he’s just shootin’ semen. At max distance, do a web throw and Immediately cancel into the Crawler assult. If done right, the opponent will be put upside down, but only for a second or two.
