Spiderman Combo Thread

Sent’s rocket punch is ok, but i dont recommend it at all for Spidey, for the reason that Spiderman needs quality assist that can make up for his ultra slow recovery time… I.E. You miss a Max Spidey, you get owned, however, if you Sent ground + Max Spidey, you can recover and continue the offensive…:cool:

Spidey infinite… impossible… I havent figured out anything… :bluu:

try this Easily resetable combo

my fav spidey team is spiderman(capture), strider(uh… teleport kick one… second… forgot., ken (anti air or expansion ) (massive damage) (if you know the right combos)

spider strider combo

spider do lk, mk, nRH, call strider, sj ^ lp, lk, FP (hits into strider) do lp,lk,FP again time it OTG DOWN lp, nRH, flying screen and then you can reset by switch sides or whatnot

Really Really Hard combo but does a hella lot… instead of doing the second lp,lk,FP time it so that you lk, right before you land (they are still in air) , you land and launch then do his combo to webball then grab… grab does alot cuuz we all know it resets damage

w/ ken
lp,lk,FP (ken) small jump you can get a FP or RH in on them while ken hits then land webball any combo

hmm… about this combo:
c.lp,clk,s.hk,Sjump,lp,lk,lp,lk,lp webball, air throw/lk,lp,lk,webswing
is it possible that after the webball the opponent can grab me first? also about the lk,lp,lk,webswing part, what are the chances that the webswing be changed into lpwebball and then do the air throw? or would the enemy be too low to grab?

Well if you hesitate to long then probably yes, just remember that a webball can be mashed out of. Also I believe it might be one webball per jump/S.j :confused:, and after you connect 2 webballs in a combo the 2nd webball breaks automatically.

Spidey is my best char is this by far. I play MvC in the arcades, & once i’ve lost Spidey, i’ve lost the power of my team. Would be easier if Bison still had his charge moves, or if Sagat were in it. I think Spidey’s best attacks are the spider stinger & the web race. His web throw is also quite deadly if you hit it.

I guess i’m just not as good at these games than i am at the namco ones, but i still think they’re a good laugh to play. PS: How come Demetri & Sagat aren’t in MvC2?

hey ok just trying to revive the spidey board abit…i’ve just got mvc2 on consoleso i’m relearning the characters ive neglected at the expense of my main MST and SSCable teams…starting with spidey,haha i and remember the first team i had- spidey guile iron man. k no more bad thoughts…

but anyway a few questions…I play spidey/sent/doom or spidey/silsam/doom… any ff combos with sent + spidey AA…having a little trouble incorporating spidey aa with sent, in the vein of capcom…I dunno it’s kinda weird, I do ff combos the same way I do with cyc or cap, but sometimes the angles are all messed up…hmmmm any input would be much valued :slight_smile:

I normally do the standard b n b combos with spidey doom - c.lk c.mk s.hk + doom, magic series xx webswing (doom hits) xx maximum spider. But in experimenting in training mode, i think there’s much more to spidey doom then this. I was thinking in terms of resets and possbile combo extensions… and yes i’ve scrolled through the thread for info :rolleyes: Oh and another thing, Ive found that peter parker’s sj. hk acts sorta as a knockdown or such?as in it knocks the char directly into AAs? I’m currently experimenting with sj.hk into rocks…and ive managed to do rejump combos a few times…would this be FSD? sorry for my ignorance and stuff…heh

Oh and last thing, Webdash as a ghetto tri jump is too good…many a time i’ve caught my opponents off guard by web dashing in sj. range and cancelling it midscreen with a hk.

How exactly do you do “tri jump” with spiderman? I’ve been trying to figure this out forever, but no luck. any help please???

well what i do is to sj web dash (qcf 2p in iar) and cancel it quick with a hk… or any other attack u might want. however you can’t do repeated ‘trijumps’, but like you change direction pretty fast so it adds a new dimension to spideys game :slight_smile:

Doom

I heard of someone talking about great doom/spidey traps and I’ll make sure to look into that. What would you suggest my team order be and who. So far I like

O.R — – O.R – -- Spidey — --- Storm
Storm — Spidey — Storm — Spidey
Doom — Doom — Doom — Doom

If anyone even posts on this board anymore, any help is appreciated

my sman teams are…

spiderman / venom / doom

spiderman / strider / doom

spiderman / magneto / psylocke

spiderman / captain america / psylocke

phelps might disagree, but i definitely feel that doom and psylocke are spiderman’s best assists. cyclops works well too, for easy ass maximum spider setups.

basically, you want to work on zoning with a few devices here…

  1. c.hk
  2. doom, blackheart, spiral, or sentinel’s assist for higher tiered assists, and venom, strider, dhalsim, iceman, bbhood, anakaris work for lower. anything that either will keep them in block stun, or come down on top of them
  3. tk lp web balls
  4. hp web throws

ok, now that you have his four zoning tools, you’re ready for corner traps.

with doom, i usually go with this…

web dash, hp, land, c.lk call doom, tk web ball, back dash, hp web throw, sj web dash, xx.hp, land, c.lk (c.hk if i get pushblocked), call doom, and start over again until they get out. when they get out, sj isn’t a big deal and spiderman’s hp throw is nice. also, j.hp’s while doing this is nice because if they try to jump out between doom rock sequence, they get thrown back into it, and u can combo hp web throw from it, or maximum spider, SHOULD work, but i don’t like that because of damage.

basic doom combos with spiderman…

c.lk, c.lk, s.hk, call doom, sj, lp, hp, maximum spider after doom rocks hit and break fs.

web dash crossup with hk, call doom RIGHT before you land, c.hk, lp web throw, (you throw them back into the rocks on the other side), hp web throw

now, since spiderman’s lp webball is REALLY fast, you can get about 5 tk web balls in before rocks is over… HUSTLE MOFOS with that shit… i remember a while back, my favorite match with spiderman, i was playing this dude in ctf (not nearly a top player by any means), but he picked ROW and he was calling me a scrub… he goes “you don’t come here when the good players come, do you?”

i was using spiderman / anakaris / doom, and i locked his entire team down in the corner. the background image could’ve potentially burned in the screen wit his sentinel there, because neither were moving. twas great. if sentinel didn’t have chip on his normals, i’d have perfected him, cuz he won the startup with fly.lk

to cancel his web dash faster, work it like ffly.

sj, pp + f, neutral, (d, d/f, d/b) + (lk, hp, hk)

Thanks alot for the strats. I think It will really help improve my game. In terms of my team should I forget about storm and O.R being in a team of spidey on point and doom as third assist? From the teams you had as your mains I think I could somehow work Storm in as second assist. Or put in Strider. But I here that the Doom Strider trap is pretty hard to get someone in and it may be better to justnot spend the time learining it. But I’ll see

All right, I’m not sifting through 7 pages, so sure me. But here’s a fun Spidey Combo.

Call Iron Man projectile assist while doing air strong web shot, Dash in lp, lk, c. hk, Spider Crawler. You can DHC into Iron Man’s Giant Plasma Ray thing, followed up by any other random DHC you want that’ll work. Pretty meh, but I try. War Machine or other beam/ projectile characters seem to work just as well too.

I can not find Spiderman videos anywhere around here:sad: . I would go on to Preppy’s hub and ask but for some reason the Direct Connect just doesn’t work on my computer. Tryed searching on Combovideos.com but when it came up with results it didn’t show any videos but had video discussion. Searched on Google but nothing came up I was specifically looking for so does anyone have vids. of themselves playing a pretty nice spidey or direct me to someone who has vids. of a beastly spiderman.

that combo is rollable, and it sucks honestly…

I was readin Viscants newb guide and he said that the characters can be labeled into three categories or Giants,Pixies, and Proj. And he said that to have a good well rounded team is important to include one of each into your team. Now I know that theirs many good teams that don’t follow this pattern but for my best chances to win with Spidey I think it will help my team alot. After some help and lookin at some combos and how these characters work with each other I decided to go Storm Spidey Doom. I know Storm is a Pixie and Doom is a Giant but would spidey be considered a pixie or a proj. user.
