Hi my name is ryan davis. I will be moving to austin for the summer and was wondering where the best place to get good comp is. I mainly play 3s and some mvc2. I will be there on june 8th. So if there is anyone interested in playing any games please pm me or post back.
the ONLY place for AWESOME 3S practice would be Einstein’s, and the only place for MVC2 practice would have to be Le Fun.

How often does texas have 3s tournies because in colorado we have only had one. I would like to enter as many as possible. I will go just about anywhere also houston san antonio is really doesnt matter to me. I just want comp so I can practice for evo.
Houston has weeklies every Tuesday. Austin has weeklies on Sunday I think. Go to those, you will find good competition.
What are some Aegis set ups? I mean, besides throw --> jab reflector (which is very weak by the way).
I like to ducking roundhouse then a fierce aegis the a rh knee drop just to get to teh other side of them. Thanks for the info on the tournies. Also I was wondering if there were any people in austin or where ever who would like to get some console in since it is free to play.

I think we’ve been mistaken all this time. No one in Austin has ever played 3rd Strike before. They don’t even know what 3rd Strike is. Austin is a MvC2 city. Ask Mopreme, he has the best raging demon setups ever.
By the way, who’s going to MWC? Me, Tuan, and Harvey are not going due to lack of funds and/or school (damn Asian girls take all our money).

I’m going to post some yang stuff so…
YANG
Yang is probably a 2nd tier character, he’s very simple. He does 1 thing, and he does it really well.
Supers: SA2 is probably the super of choice for most yang players. Yang’s best move hands down is the EX Mantis Slash, and this super ensures you’ll always have 1 ready to go. SA3 is also a viable choice, just not for me because i suck with it
The mind game…
My yang pretty much lives and dies by the mind game, mix it up and don’t let off, yang sucks on defense Stand in front of your opponent and throw out random mantis slashes(the first hit), you should vary the punch button used so it screws with the parry timing because some versions take longer to come out than others. If it hits, finish the combo and repeat again. Mix this up with crouching forward, and the towards and forward overhead. Once your opponnent is sufficently scared into blocking, make use of the command throw. This throw has the same range as hugo’s normal (jab+short) throw, to give you a refrence. Or you can kara it(described later).
EX that shit down… :lol:
Blocked sweep? EX. Blocked deep crouching forward? EX. The EX Mantis Slashes also combo off crouching shorts (one, or two, if you do two they don’t cancel into each other so you have to link it), and 3 crouching or standing jabs. The jabs are useful after dive kicks.
Kara Throwing the command grab?
This isn’t done in the traditional sense, but it’s pretty easy. After a dive kick immediately perform a command grab. Because yang lands with his back foot forward off a dive kick this gives the grab a huge reach. The is useful in wakeup games mostly.
Having Trouble? Resort to "Easy-mode BS"
At least that’s what SlimX calls it. Standing strong is rediculous. It has crazy priority, comes out super fast, and leads into his “robot combo”(strong, fierce, back + fierce), and the mantis slashes. What does everybody do when they jump over you but land right next to you? Throw. Too for them bad strong beats it. You can do all sorts of things with this. My personal favorite is to time a dive kick when they are getting up, so that it doesn’t hit them, but puts me on the opposite side within their throw range. They will probably either block the wrong way, or try to throw. Either way, standing strong wins again.

Austin people are really hard to figure out sometimes. They’ll tell you when they’re good and ready.
