Probably not. I don’t think I will be in San Antonio by that time and if I did I probably wouldn’t have any reliable transportation at the time.
Definitely next time though.

Good games at Stargate tonight fellas.
Turtler, your turting skills are too good. You definately need to work on those links though. Get a dreamcast and practice them. What a turtler!
Joe man, you got some nice combos with Yun coming along. Very nice.
Tuan, your Makoto is still very good. Don’t give up on her yet!
What the hell was up with Bryan? I still think I should have beaten him that last match! I hit you first!
Cmutt, too bad you’re too busy making drinks these days. We could use some more of your skills man. He’s old, so that automatically makes him the wiley, old veteran that’s always yelling stuff.
Got damn i got owned sooooooooooooo
hard
by
Joe and khang.
Yallll suck
Don’t worry Gus, you own me at everything else.
Me and Tuan are thinking about having another get together before regionals. Since Joe has a swank, new apartment, we decided to have it at his place.
Everyone’s invited…except for Joe.
I found out an easy way to know how long to charge the first part of the charge partioning technique. Just normal jump and hold d/b and then you land, dash. You shouldn’t always jump up to charge but this will give you a feel of how long to charge. I can’t do remy’s multiple booms onscreen.
Shit, all that stuff I posted got deleted.
Chun Li > Ken > Alex
Actually I think Ken > Chun Li
oh yea, Ken is waaay better than chun imo, but i know nothing…
anyone gonna be at SG tonight? I feel like playing (…and the subsequent tears will surely follow, but im still ready…)
did anyone go to the ST training session yesterday? i was gonna, but the matrix called me…
too bad about your posts Khang, i love reading it. good sheit!
so who’s coming tonight???
Makoto? Alex? Urien maybe? and then a whole shit load of chuns and kens will just be hanging out im sure…
peace!
j.
Hmmm, I feel like posting stuff on Hugo, maybe because I want to see more Hugo players. I know I posted up stuff before, but I’ll do some more in-depth stuff I guess. I already went over walk-up 720 so if you missed it, go back to the first or second page. Toronto secret my ass. :bluu:
Supers: Either Gigas Breaker or Hammer Frenzy is good. Most of the Japanese players use Hammer Frenzy.
Claps: His QCB + P (the clap) is really good. It can beat other people’s footsies pretty handily. It also has deceptively long reach. And it nullifies fireballs.
Triple clap combo consists of fierce clap, strong clap, jab clap. The timing after each one is different, so practice!
You can do fierce clap, strong clap (2-hit combo), then do walk-up 720. Uncombo!
The Gigantic throw (wall bounce throw), clap, backbreaker combo is not that hard to do. Again, Toronto secret my ass. :bluu: The easiest way for me is to do:
If you’re going to do the second one (more damage), time the strong clap so that it hits really early. Again, practice your timing. Also note that this is corner only.
The claps give you a sizeable frame advantage. What you can do is low short xx jab clap, —> dash into SPD/Backbreaker.
Overheads: Standing fierce, standing forward, low roundhouse, and the 3rd hit of his Hammer Frenzy are overheads. Standing fierce is the best one IMO.
After a neutral throw in the corner (the chokehold), juggle with standing jab. Afterwards, do short Meat Squasher (running throw), or standing fierce. Mix up your own mind games.
Jump-ins: His best jump-ins are fierce and down fierce (body splash). The jumping fierce has really good reach, so don’t be afraid to use it. I’m sure that it’s tough for some characters to punish it after a parry.
Kara-throws: I think his kara-throws suck. Stick with his command grabs.
Footsies: Standing strong, low forward, and standing/crouching jab are used to control the ground.
Low forward is meaty and is his best knockdown.
Standing strong and jab are good to keep jumping opponents down.
That’s all I can recall for now. Alex stuff next.
I think Yun is #1, and Ken/Chun are tied for 2nd. It really is disputable who is better, I think they are pretty much equally good.

My heart goes pitter-patter
I agree with Ryan’s rankings. I think the only reason Ken is thought of as better is because he’s easier to use well than Chun-Li IMO. I think Yun is clearly above anyone though.
More importantly…
Does anyone remember that 3S player from Austin named Fernando? Played Ryu and Urien? Probably not the Houston players since they didn’t play then, but someone must. I mean, was that guy hot as fire, or was that guy hot as fire? Seriously.
My heart goes pitter-patter
Yes, I remember him at that one Austin tourney ages ago. I go to Austin to play the best 3s players they have to offer and get peaced out 2 straight by San Antonio. Good shit!
Me, Tuan, and David on the 3S team? Too good. I wouldn’t mind if we had Brian on here too. Anyway, it’s time to pay back those Austin bastards! We’ll beat Mopreme this time!
But you won’t beat me + Mopreme + Jack. =)
Shit, Jack’s playing? Might as well just let go of the joystick then. :depress:
Cheaters!
Don’t worry, Tuan’s the most random player there is. He’s bound to get a win or too! j/k Tuan.
Ok, I’m finally going to write a post on Alex. Here is most everything I know.
First of all, Alex is not top-tier. He is lower mid-tier or upper bottom-tier. Why? He has a hella hard time with top tiers and run-away. And he’s big, always a no-no.
Supers: ALWAYS use Boomerang Raid (SA II). Hyper Bomb can be jumped out of on reaction. Stun Gun Headbutt can also be easily escaped. Even though I said this, it’s still fun to mess around with Stun Gun. I’ll post what I know later.
Kara-throw: His kara-throws are towards fierce or neutral strong. Learn how to kara-throw if you want to play Alex. His powerbomb is not instant and his kara-throw has good range and speed. A nice alternative. His normal throw range is also better then average.
Dash up throw is a good tactic to use. Dash up after your opponent does a safe move and throw.
Empty jump-in into throw is ok. What you can also do is after a knockdown, back off to max kara-throw range. Jump straigh up, land, and kara-throw. Super jump every now and then to mess up their timing.
Ticks that I use:
Powerbombs: The jab version is the quickest with the most range, but least damaging. Opposite for the fierce version. Since they’re not instant and come out at different speeds, learn what ticks work best for each version. Ticks that I use:
Standing forward: Alex’s best poke in my opinion. It must be parried high and it goes over most characters’ low forward xx super. Which is good.
Towards strong: Surprisingly far range and height. You can use this to counter poke footsies or use it as anti-air.
Neutral strong: Probably his best anti-air. You can combo EX knee smash afterwards if they’re in the air.
Crouching roundhouse: Far range, but really slow and bad recovery. Still, it has it’s uses when you’re doing wake up games.
Standing fierce: A big overhead. Even though it’s slow, you can still catch a good number of people with it. It’s also very meaty so you can link a super after it, but you’ll miss the throw.
Ok, I’ll continue later.
wudup everybody, this is simon from NE. i heard alot of texas peeps were gonna hit up MWC and i was wondering if any of the 3s peeps were goin?

Hey,
I’m in San Antonio now but don’t have a permanent phone # yet. If anyone wants to give me their phone # just pm it to me. I’ll probably have a car soon and make some Houston and Austin visits.
