Maybe when they start making SC games worth supporting then people will support it. the last 2 SC games were AWFUL and the third one was only slightly course corrected. Namco can pretend its because the “game is too hard. casuals only like swingy flashy games.” but that was never the problem. the games were bad and they got dropped in favor of better ones. it wasnt the fans the killed SC, it was Namco itself. And people shouldnt have to support or buy into bad behavior that doesnt support the franchise and it’s fans needs.
Nah SCV was pretty good and a step in the right direction 3 was abysmal and borderline unplayable, 2 was also a mess thanks to bugs and glitches and can G step itself off a cliff.
SCIV was decent if you banned Hilde and Star Wars; SCIII:AE was excellent, and SCII is still really good (stop trying to flip it like it ain’t). SCV I could’ve bared if the roster was good.
And one last thing regarding the new GI is how it will affect balance; it might be too strong if you eliminate the guessing element.
SC3AE will have probably been my fav chapter (never had the chance to play it sadly), best cast ever, with fixed shit and Hwang/LiLong normalized as official characters
I also liked huge movesets, SC6 reminded me that a bit, Mitsu seem to have a lot of stuff
Hilde was fine, the doom combo was BS. Because SCV Hilde was unplayable.
This game is doing everything right so far I can’t fucking believe my eyes. They’re even reverting back to the SCIV moveset Mitsu has MST/RLC back

Good anti turtle mechanic and some GI wars had that extra mind game with the Soul mechanic.
I really liked it.

Tbh i don’t want artificial anti-guard mechanic, i prefer they buff the ability to pressure with h/m/l, verticals and throws… also 8wr angles

There wasn’t anything SCV did that was a step in the right direction.
Run counter made you a sitting duck for 20 frames after backlash. The move lists were cut in half, the roster was cut in half, the story was weak. CAS was weak, single player modes were weak. It felt very rushed. Viola was exquisitely designed, though.
The saving grace is the game still felt like a soul calibur, but easily the worse SC to date.
