Sony Playstation All Stars: Battle Royale Comment Thread

Im looking forward to using Big Daddy the most since i love Bioshock!

What i love about the game so far is the strong fgc people working on the game including Seth Killian, Clockwork and ed ma!

I personally would really love a Beta code. The reason is because I am the type of player that plays all sorts of fighting games, both casually and in tournament. I also am a big fan of some of the franchises that are in the Beta. Personally, I really want to get my hands on Fat Princess and Big Daddy. I really wanted to try the game out at EVO, but I unfortunately never got a chance to. One other reason why I would love to get my hands on a Beta code is that I house weekly RanBats here in my small town. I think that it could be very cool for my small community (most of them did make the journey to EVO) to get to have a small taste of the game as well.

One other big reason that I want to see the game is because I am that type of player in my area that likes to break down games and share knowledge with other people. I’m a very technical player and am always looking to find technology. Also as a combo exhibitionist that’s just another reason for me to sets my sights on the game.

As far as something that I already love about the game, it seems very unique. It definitely looks much more than just a “Smash Clone” to me. Which I proudly admit to finding a lot of joy in the Smash franchise. Because of this, I am very anxious to see what kind of treasures are hidden within the game.

If I did get a Beta code, I would be extremely grateful. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to try the game out!

i didn’t really play SSB at all so i’m really looking forward for this and i do hope snake is in it

I’ve been a Sony supporting since I can remember, been following this game since it was announced despite the hate and bashing it was getting I never cared since I already knew ima buy this game day 1 or ps3 and vita. But yet to get a code from Sony and I been following Seth kellian on twitter and failed to get the codes he puts up. Please choose me and send a code my way u have no idea how big of a Sony supporter I am and I really wanna try this game out PLEASE!!

I look forward to playing this with my coworkers. The salt mines will be insane. A lot of us are pretty serious about fighting games, but it’ll be awesome to include people that just love games.

I love that true FG fundamentals are applicable. You can play lame and throw projectiles, let someone try to sneak up on that person you’re keeping out, then body them both!

I’ve always enjoyed Smash (and Smash style platform/mascot fighters) and I’ve always enjoyed traditional fighters. The thought of a game like the former (PSBR) being worked on and having some things from the latter (combos, supers, etc.) that just so happens to be designed by folks from the FGC just tickles my fancy.

The first thing i’m excited for is big daddy being in a fighting game, i never imagined one of my favorite game series would be incorporated into a fighting game. The cast seems very well rounded featuring iconic legends of the playstation exclusive franchises, i mean cmon who doesn’t love Nathan Drake and Parappa the rapper?

The game seems very similar to smash bros, and if you were just like anyone else you deffinetly put alot of time into smash bros on the N64 when it came out. It’s a great party game, which is another reason i’m super excited. We all as fighting game players put our time and energy into our main games whether it be sf4, marvel, kof, blazblue, tekken, or anything else. So it’ll be nice to sit back and relax and play a few rounds of something that looks like fun, instead of having to read your opponent and have an answer, and it also seems like a game that wouldn’t make you salty if you lose, just laugh at how over the top it seems.

I’m not sure as far as the battle royale will go in the fighting game community as a main tournament game, of course that’ll be left to the fgc after the game is released. I for one would love to see another Smash bros type game make it’s way up to compete with the big dogs of competitive gaming.

This also looks like a great family game that i’d be able to bring non fighting game players, and non gamers in my home into. That would be really cool to bring people that enjoy watching myself and friends play but don’t have the time to put into other games, it seems like you would be able to pick up and just play instead of worrying about setups, frame traps, and the other things that are present in the great games that we play today.

I suppose I’ve taken an interest in the game, because I see it as way to support some of my favorite FGC icons who’ve had a major impact on my game. if Clockwork and S-Kill are involved then I feel I’ve got to support their visions of an upcoming fighter.

What am I looking forward to, is a brand new fresh fighting engine to sink me teeth into, coupled with some of my fav video game characters. Can’t wait to just jump into the lab and see what’s possible in this game’s engine knowing S-kill and Clockwork are involved.

What I love about it so far, is the community outreach the developers have made. With their presence at evo to this very opportunity to get a beta key I’m participating in now. It’s definitely a good look when a developer demonstrates their value of their competitive community.

Really looking forward to giving constructive criticism to the creators of the game as well as playing as Parappa and Sly.
Also loving the blend of Old/New Characters and Stages from “forgotten” franchises (Like Parappa The Rapper, Ape Escape, etc.)

What I’m excited about is seeing how how a Smash Bros.-styled game (4 player, interactive stages, etc) can be meshed together with the traditional 2-D fighter style combos (as no hit-stun decay in combos).

I’m looking forward to BRINGING THE LIGHTNING WITH COLE.

Curious to see how balanced of a game Sony can get out, especially with all these fighting games coming out (DOA,P4U,Tekken)

Also, I have a huge penis.

Tapping into nostalgia is a key component to ignite interest. Many of my friends do not play fighting games, but are hardcore gamers who enjoy some tough competition so that we can talk some smack to each other. Growing up on Sony games and stories with some of the famous characters we have in BR, with a very Super Smash feel on the surface, will bring that nostalgia forward in them to play with me and hopefully get them to further explore the game and genre.

The thing I’m looking forward to the most is definitely the online play. Most people that already have the Beta seem to think that it’s buttery smooth but I’d love to just try it myself.
Regardless of whether the game is well received by the FGC, I’m sure I’ll still get a kick out of the game just being able to play classic PlayStation characters like Parappa. I’m already pretty glad that Sony and SuperBot are shining some light on forgotten characters that haven’t really had a big game in a while. It makes me want to dust off some of my old games and replay them in anticipation of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale’s release.

I’m looking forward to playing the only game ever made where you can have a battle between Cole and Heihachi vs Toro and Kuro

Kappa

im looking forward to seeing how far they go back into playstation history to get characters and stages from and how they would look in today’s age with updated technology and not as many limitations.
i love so far that they are trying to make it fun and nostalgic for the playstation fans that have stuck with them throughout the years and its a new ip to break the monotony of games coming out. also that they have parappa the rapper in it lol

I’m looking forward to the diverse gameplay in the game. They have shown us various characters and I like how they’re really putting in a lot of work towards being different and making each character different. I love how they have interactive stages. That adds the appeal that you always have to be on your toes when in a match. I also love the gameplay they have shown us. They have such a variety in characters and ways to play and it’s amazing. It shows the detail they put into each character and provide a new feel for the genre. and the main thing I love is the fact that many of my favorite video game characters get to be in a game like that, so it adds a sense of nostalgia along with incorporating a new feel into the genre. I cant wait for this game.

The reason I love this game is… well there’s so many reasons.

  1. SuperBot are bringing back even the forgotten characters such as PaRappa. People have nostalgia for him, and having a character that shaped your childhood be remembered (it’s Spyro or Crash for most) really does make them happy.
  2. They’re putting creativity and thought into what characters are picked. They could easily just pick a tonne of characters with guns and throw them in with similar moves, but instead they’re picking the unique characters with unique fighting styles. PaRappa knows Kung-Fu, Cole has super powers, Kratos has the Blades of Chaos, etc. Each character will feel different because of this.
  3. They’re making it different. This isn’t Smash Bros. This isn’t Tekken. This isn’t Street Fighter. This is it’s own, unique fighter game and will definitely become a powerful franchise for Sony.
  4. It looks absolutely amazing and exhilarating to get a super, especially a level 3 super. It completely changes the course of the game!
  5. It’s a celebration of PlayStation. This is everything PlayStation has built up put into a fighting game. I’m sure when I finally get to play it, I’ll be proud to be a PlayStation gamer as I look upon the glory of all that’s come from PlayStation.

But most of all… I know I will love this game because it’s a reflection of everything I love about PlayStation, everything I grew up with, and it looks like one of the greatest games I’ll ever play.

I’m mainly looking forward to the character roster and getting to see characters that haven’t had a new game in years (I’m looking at you Parappa). The fact that there isn’t a health system makes the game seem more fresh and exciting. Finally, I’m looking forward that this will be more competitive than a certain other company’s game.

I’m really looking forward the CHARACTER ROASTER to have:

KAZ HIRAI (CEO of Sony Corporation);
JACK TRETTON (CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment of America);
KEVIN BUTLER (Sony’s does everything guy).

Would love see what kind of supermoves they come up with for them.

Right Now, i like the fact that they put Kratos and Big Daddy on the same game. Where else can you play with both of them?!
