Sony Playstation All Stars: Battle Royale Comment Thread

The very fact that all PlayStation characters duke it out Super Smash Bros. style is enough to make me pre-order the game. However, once more details were revealed I was impressed with the fact that there is no true health system. You can only get kills with “supers”. This should set it apart as a SSB clone and offer a whole new strategy that wouldn’t otherwise be used in a SSB game. In terms of what I’m looking forward to has got to be the hope I’ll see Sora from KH in there. That is literally my icing on the cake.

I am most excited to make people rage like this kid () after owning them with my amazing skills.

So far I love the inclusion of this guy ( ). One of my favorite characters is in a game similar to the smash bros. series, which is my favorite series. Biggest nerdgasm when he was announced as part of the roster.

all i can say is that this game will be amazing and hopefully beat smash bros

What is it I like about the game so far, from what has been shown? It’s an interesting spin on action-platformer fighting games, and looks to be a serious contender for having a seat among other fighting games in the Fighting Game Community. However, what I love the most is that under-appreciated contenders such as Parappa The Rapper have already been announced, leaving the playing field open to many more surprise guests. Being a competitive Smash Brothers player that regularly attends tournaments, I’ve obviously got my eye on the game considering the similarity in style. Being able to participate in the beta would be a great way to pique my interest further and hopefully, provided the agreement allows, I can provide other Smash Brother tournament players a chance to try it and gain interest.

I really just looking forward to the October 23, 2012 release so I can cross play it on my PS3 and Vita!!!

What I love about the game so far is all the fighters come from different kinds of games…like Cole from InFamous and Heihachi Mishima from Tekken

I can’t say that I’m looking forward to this game, but as a developer myself (having worked on skullgirls as the lead programmer and working on a new project), I can give very valuable technical feedback about the game mechanics. I can also break a lot of things too.

I really want a competitive game and characters well balanced, also I hope that Sony have good servers because that was the main reason I didn’t play online SSBB. What I like so far are all the characters and the cross play with PS Vita. Please I want a beta code to try this amazing game.

Regard forth not at all

ITS MAHVEL BAYBEE!

omg i read wrong!
i thought it said best 50 comments so i was like “Chuck Norris” but its what i love about the game so far and what i look forward to xD ok (i found out cause i was reading every one elses comments and they weren’t trying to say epic things so i was like o.O?)

soo i love jak and daxters level 3
jak turns dark jak! and then crosses his arms and he looks soooooo epic
i also love that theres 3 different specials that you actually have to work for! (in brawl, one special, break one ball lol GAME BREAKER)
and i also love the genre its self, just 4 players having fun laughing at all the chaos on the screen!

what i look forward to is all the laughter i’ll get playing with my friends and seeing every ones supers and the release of more Japanese characters like toro!!!

actually i really look forward to people coming to my house just to play this game
cause when brawl came out (this also happened with melee) for like 3 years alooooot of friends would come to my house to play and pass the controls around playing brawl
those days were really fun

IT’S AUL STAWS!

Edit: I want this beta really bad as you can see.

I actually like that they gave a unique twist to the smash formula, plus the fact that it’s been developed for some members of the fgc, so they will hear about us, plus is cool to see them showing some respect to the sony brand

Now if they put lightning in the game it will be a 10/10 for me

What im wondering is how the netcode will end up being due to how poorly brawl played online? On top of that im also wondering will this game continue to get support after its released in the form of patches? For example will game breaking glitches like the ones found in brawl be patched if they arise in PSABR? Im concerned about the netcode due to all the poor wireless connections that so many PS3 players use due to the console itself being released with WIFI right out the box since the beginning.

Will we continue to see updates to the character balance just in case certain attacks make a character broken or over powered? No community likes to see or keep certain characters out of tournaments due to those issues so id would be nice to see all the characters make it into tournaments long into the future. Is sony and santa monica studios willing to support the competitive scene? What i love about the game so far is this looks like one of the only quality smash bros type games to be released and that says a lot because most have tried yet failed.

I also love the fact that we most likely will have a better online play and online features which was something lacking in SSBB. Adding friends was a pain and forget about adding people you met by playing online it just wasnt possible. I love the fact that we have a game that we wont be stuck with and has to possibility to evolve until a sequel is released. Ive been playing the smash games since they were released on the N64 and this could be a game i could personally end up playing for years to come.

Also if you want to send me a beta code i wont mind  PSN TheTHCGamer

"What are you looking forward to most in SPAS: BR?"
I’m looking forward too a nice robust roster, filled with iconic and memorable characters! I look forward too a well balanced game with lots of extras to keep me playing for hours! I’m looking forward to a lot of modes that me and my friends can enjoy! Simple free for all and teams can get tiresome after awhile, so i’m looking forward too any new surprising modes. I’m looking forward to playing as some of my favorite characters such as Kratos, Sweet Tooth and Big Daddy!! I want to play them not just because i like them in their respective games, but because they fit the fighter archetype that i like to play as well. ( tank character, slow but heavy damage ). I look forward to spending hours practicing combos and learning strategies with characters, as well as getting enveloped in the chaos that is multiplayer. I’m also looking forward too playing on stages and going on nostalgia trips.
"What do you love about the game so far?"
I love the roster so far. I feel that all the characters are very diverse and represent the playstation very well. I love watching some of my favorite video game characters duke it out in something i would have never dreamed of. I also love the stages. They’re creatively designed, and i love the references to the respective games. I also love how the stages are part of the battle too.
I know I might get attacked for this, but I love how similar it is too SSB. I got my competitive start playing SSBM, so watching all the footage makes me feel right at home, and gets me even more excited. I LOVE how the company is trying their best to balance the game and give us something that can be played competitively. And I love the crazy over the top specials!

im looking forward to getting together with some friends and just having a good time with some good ole ps characters so we can throw down and try to prove to each other who the better all star is… im going with Jak & Daxter or maybe we can get a Cloud Strife or a Sephiroth in there then i would dominate with all three but all in all it should be a great competitive and fun experience.

oh and i love that PlayStation has so many iconic characters so that this game can exist and allow us gamers to relive the glory days with our favorite heroes and/or villains.

What I like about PASBR so far is how they’re going back to the old days of Playstation to choose their fighters. It’s always nice to see characters like Parappa again, and maybe they might consider making a new Parappa game if this game is successful, along with the other possible PS1 fighters.

What I’m hoping for with PASBR is for more fighting modes for this game. The SuperKills-Only angle seems like an interesting approach to this type of game, but other modes like HP battles would be a nice option and would add a lot of replay value into this game, especially online.

For the past seven years, I’ve been playing in, watching, hosting, and commentating tournaments for Super Smash Bros.

For the past seven years, Nintendo has not only ignored my pushes towards a more competitive set of values in the games I’ve come to love, but have repeatedly sabotaged my attempts at turning these games into more than a hobby. Tripping. Not allowing MLG to have streaming rights. Lack of patching over powered mechanics. (Though, I could shake a stick at Capcom, too, for that last one.)

For the past seven years, I have seen almost every major city in our beautiful country, and have met more people then I could possibly ever remember. Smash gave me a group of friends I would trade for the world. (That’s not a type. The world is serious fucking business. Love them, though. <3)

This year, I’m confident in two things. That Namco is going to start production on a new version of Smash Bros that’s likely to really bring a true competitive light to my favorite competitive franchise. And that Superbot is going to turn a ragtag group of characters into stars. Think about what Smash did for Ness! Earthbound is now a massive cult classic, thanks to the exposure the PK mastermind was granted by the Nintendo 64 classic.

So now characters who live out of the limelight like Fat Princess and Redek will have a serious chance to shine. And it’s being made by a company who immediately brought a build to a global fighting game event. Not hid development in a van, and showed us a trailer every 6 months. It’s being made by a company who had the presence of mind to bring someone like Clock on board to keep us all leveled and interested.

Needless to say, I’m extraordinarily excited for this game. While I don’t agree 100% with some of the mechanics, I’ve been extremely giddy over the combo system, and the true potential this game could hold in its midst. The earlier I can get my hands on it the better. :3

Ima keep this real simple cus i know there are going to be a hell lot of comments to read through and i dont think you guys at shoryuken gona want to read a essay.

Bin with Playstation and fighting game my hole life so to have them in one is FLIPIN AMAZING , even if i dont get a code im still geting this game and gona PLAY TILL my figures fall off , This game is gona be LIVE !!!

I’m looking forward to seeing if anyone from final fantasy will be in this game especially cloud :wgrin:
I’m loving the fact that I can use dark Eco and also transform into an ice cream gundam and dare someone to take my ice cream.

i love how hyper combos are dived into lv 1 to 3 and the fact that raiden from mgs rising is in it

I am looking forward for a cast saturated with mammaries because generally fighting games are sausage-fests. What i love most about SPAS: BR is the lengths SuperBot Entertainment and SCE Santa Monica are willing to go to make this game viable on a competitive, seriously thanks for that.
