Sony Playstation All Stars: Battle Royale Comment Thread

So far All-Stars has an amazing cast of blended old-school and new faces as characters. The mixture of Japanese culture (Heihachi, Raiden) and Western culture (Sweet Tooth, Cole) as well as the meter system really makes this game interesting and fresh. I absolutely cannot wait to play this game and tell others about it since 2 of my favorite Sony iconic characters are in it! Parappa the Rapper and Raiden!

I look forward to bodying everyone with Nathan Drake. Heā€™s just an ordinary guy.
I love the stages of the game because they are so dynamic and wonderful to look at.

First of all I want to see if the game is fun. Iā€™m really curious about the super only kills. Some of the Pro Players on the development team have mentioned how fun the game is and I really want to see for myself. Iā€™m also really curious about the technical side of the game: the combo system, is there air-control, air recovery, tech rolls, grab breaks, etc. My biggest question is how fun is this game 1v1? Is it balanced and competitive?

Characters I want to try: Jak, Big Daddy, Parrappa

The best thing about this game is playing as Fat Princess. That game is one of the most fun PSN games Iā€™ve played.

Iā€™m looking forward to finding combos! Iā€™ve seen some videos, and it makes my hands itch!

Looking forward to the smash bros style game, that while at the same time looks to be a lot more competitive. A ton of my favorite iconic characters from old Sony games are present too, which is awesome.

main reason Iā€™m looking forward to the game? CAUSE ITS SONY!!! A fighting game which pits Playstations greatest against each other is like a dream come! iā€™ve been dying for something like this! Main thing I like about this game is the character selection thus far, blending the different worls and combo possibility is great, i REALLY WANT THIS CODE!!!

I love the fact that this whole game is now a reality, this is something fans have dreamt about for years. Its awesome that all these generations of characters are coming together for fans to finally have their dream matches against certain characters. Superbot is doing a heck of a job; they are listening to the fans and care what they say. I like that because it is rare to find a developer these days that actually listens to its fans and cares what they say. I am looking forward to trying out the whole game, the characters and levels look spectacular. Superbot and Sony both have my full support! I want this game to succeed to the highest level.

Itā€™s hard to watch fansā€¦
Play the waiting gameā€¦
So hereā€™s a beta codeā€¦
So play me maybeā€¦

Lookin forward to dunkin on fools with Fat Princess the most. Make that booty DROPPPPPPP

Also happy that weā€™ve got our own people workin on it right now. Lot of adjustments to be made still from what Iā€™ve seen, but it looks like those balance adjustments will be made a priority in this gameā€™s development.

Iā€™d like to help break the game please

I played this a LOT at EVO. Spent at least 3 hours playing it, made sure to try every character out. I really loved what I played of it.

While there seemed to be some matchup issues (Big Daddy vs Radec felt almost as hopeless as Cammy vs O.Sagat), Iā€™m sure that if I had more time with the game (hint hint wink wink) Iā€™d be able to form a better idea of how these matchups actually are. My area is an area that really enjoys these types of platform fighters, having played many of them such as Battle Stadium DON, Dream Mix TV: World Fighters, Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL and especially Jump Ultimate Stars, as well as the various versions of Smash. Heck, one of our players was even part of the Brawl Minus Team.

I feel like, if I were given the beta, our community would be able to put a lot of work into this game, and possibly find and address any issues that arise to Superbot.

Iā€™m really looking forward to putting more time in with Toro and Fat Princess, as well as the new faces like Jak and - if the leak is real - Sir Dan.

Iā€™m looking forward to how all the Playstation characters and third party characters mesh into a fighting system. Iā€™m also intrigued on who will be coming into PS All-Stars. The way the game is being played is different than what other games are offering and that alone is interesting. A lot of people will make reference to Smash Bros. but that is understandable but Iā€™m looking forward on how Superbot can make this game unique and stand out. The project seems very ambitious and itā€™s great that all these fighting veterans and producers are together.

So far, Iā€™m loving the nostalgia of all the Playstation games and characters that I grew up with since PSX days. I had a PSX, PS2, PSP and now currently a PS3. Itā€™s nice seeing all the niche titles such as Patapon and Buzz being represented as well as popular titles such as Uncharted and GoW. I also like the idea of not showing the score. I have always hated ā€˜turtlingā€™ when there is no offense in games for a long period of time and I like how this game tries to address it. Iā€™m liking the stage mash ups. They truly represent the franchises properly. Iā€™m looking forward to what other nostalgic elements will be put into the game.

I have been hype for this game since the beginning and have loved the whole idea behind the fighting system. Been a Sony fan for years so this game is like a love letter to people like me who spend lots of their time playing old PS1-2 era games. I canā€™t name the number of times Iā€™ve beaten the classic Twisted Metal games (1 and 2) and played through Parappa the Rappa so much I have the car license song almost memorized by heart.

I have followed and watched as much footage on this game as Iā€™ve could so a chance to actually test the beta would be a dream and I would try learn as much as possible good and bad to give legit feedback for the final game.

I have really been hoping for this game to succeed and have heard good things but have only had to take the opinions of others because of college stopping my traveling. Iā€™ve always played a diverse selection of games which has helped me adapt and learn new ones quickly so I think Iā€™d actually make the most out the chance if given the opportunity.

I really want a chance to test this game out! I meanā€¦ who wouldnā€™t want to play a game where most of the characters that a lot of people have grown up with and have come to know and love? I think nostalgia is another main reason I love this game. All these characters revealed so far, I know from past video games that I love and still love, but with a whole new twist involving a punch to the face. Iā€™m a huge, huge playstation fan aswell, I want to try and help make this the best game it can be by testing this beta.

The thing Iā€™m looking forward to most is playing as Cole MacGrath and owning a whole bunch of people as him! Heā€™s my all time favorite video game character ever and getting the chance to play as him in another game other than inFAMOUS, while kicking Nathan Drakeā€™s butt just adds the icing to the cake.

Iā€™d really enjoy this if I end up getting one of these beta keys so I can test this game and make it the best possible game it can be by launch.

I am so excited for this. A fighting game where you can duke it out with some of Sonyā€™s most beloved characters? Sign me up!
Who would win in a fight between Jak and Sly Cooper? Now you can find out!!

yo you have to give me a code i log in on facebook to type this. Ever since i played this on evo of first day i love this game i spent over 8 hours on day one and day two at evo. I want to play and test this game so bad i check ign everyday to see any new news about this game. Hell this was the only beta game i truly loved at evo. And was sad when they took it down i love the chars espcially drake. Would truly love to be part of the beta do not want to wait to october to play this awesome game again. so please read this comment and understand how much i love this game from the time i played this at evo please pick me.

Looking forward to figuring out the system first and foremost, as with any new game. Iā€™m looking forward to finding out the gimmicks, tricks, and nuances of the cast. Iā€™m MOST looking forward to playing this with my household of about 80 people, 30 of which play melee constantly and are starting to accept 2d games. I think they would die if I got this beta honestly.

I really love that they are using characters from games like GoW and Twisted Metal. I would have thought that since kids will be playing this they would want to move away from M rated I.P.s but Iā€™m very pleased that they did not.

FINALLY a Playstation brawler!! I love Playstation since it came out 1994. Back then the graphics were out of this world and now the PS world has change to the better. What other way to say thank you to the fans is Playstation All-Stars Battle Royal. Sure the name is long but hey it will grow on me. Please send a beta codeā€¦

Its great to just wait and see what we may be surprised at for this game leading up to the release. Character roster without counting the leaked list, is looking really good so far and the gameplay looks so much different than what most people expected, with a new engine and score mechanic. I am also excited to know that many fighting game legends and supporters want to throw their knowledge into this. Not that I am expecting pro style gameplay like I would with Street Fighter, but knowing that I can get the most enjoyable experience from their expertise will be great.

Like most people commenting here, we all have grown up with a Playstation 1 and 2 and seeing many of these characters and crossover stages in this game just brings back so many memories. One thing that Playstation 3 has done over Xbox 360 recently in the next gen debate is bring back those classic memories through the PS downloads and HD classics. This game will be an amazing compilation of those memories in a new way.

Looking forward owning my brothers in the face, and if I get beta I canā€™t wait to test out all the modes and help balance the skills
