I’d love to see some Gen combos, even though I can’t use him for love nor money, I have a lot of respect for people that can. And as a Cammy player, some for her would be lovely!
Good work with Sonic Hurricane, only discovered it recently along with this place, and it’s doing nothing but helping to fuel my passion for Streetfighter!
Yes Maj I have an Ascii pad v pro. I kinda remember reading something about hitstop somewhere, something about both characters “freezing” briefly for dramatic effect or something like that. I think I had to put 19 “frames” instead of 13 when using the MK. As for the FADC, I cant figure it out, whether trying it by itself or after a fireball.
I tried using the fireball as the first forward input, then forward+FA, even varying the lengths of both. I cant seem to cancel it. Do I just need to tinker w/ it, maybe put a pause in there somewhere? How about recording manual inputs, Do you use it often? Other than this problem Im having, it seems pretty easy to use. Then again I barely got it yesterday so who knows.
Nah i don’t use manual recording cuz it’s too messy. Can you be more specific about what you’re trying to do? If you want to cancel Shoto fireball into forward dash, try this:
D for 2 frames, DF for 2 frames, F+P for 2 frames, neutral for 10 frames, F for 2 frames, neutral for 2 frames, F+MP+MK for 2 frames
Change the number of neutral frames from 10 to 5-15 until you find the smallest number. You can also do this:
D for 2 frames, DF for 2 frames, F+P for 2 frames, neutral for 7 frames, MP+MK for 5 frames, F+MP+MK for 2 frames, MP+MK for 2 frames, F+MP+MK for 2 frames
Sometimes it’s better to keep holding MP+MK for a little while longer after that. You can change all the “2 frames” to “1 frame” but it’ll cause your sequences to fail more often and there usually aren’t any real benefits to it unless you’re trying to do standing 720 or something.
Thanks a BUNCH! It worked like a charm. Im just trying to get used to this program pad, never had one before. I was under the impression neutral pauses werent needed, so I was going from one move to the next. Or Ill hold the F+P longer to act as a pause. Then I tried some pauses but I was going by the frame data, which now I know is not too reliable. I just didnt know if I was going about it the right way.
In your first example I was able to bring down the pause to 4 frames reliable, w/ 3 every other time. In the second example, pause down to 5. I had tried inputting F+MP+MK consecutively thinking I would be “mashing” it like that, I didnt think to alternate between F+FA and just FA. Thanks.
I got one more question for you. On the ps3, the ascii lcd doesnt light up, well it does partially. Im using a ps1 to read it then switching back and forth. Are you doing something similiar?
And while I got your attention I would like to say you make some awesome Combo videos. I could watch your Ryu vid a million times and never be bored.
For everyone else there are two Ascii stick 3’s on yahoo Japan right now. Also on Ebay there is the Aplha 2 Versus guide in case anyone is interested
Good shit yo. At first this stuff seemed normal then i watched it a few more times. Wow man, 5 focus attacks, jumping fierce into overhead that crosses up into crazy link combo, "comboed’ 720.
challenges are fun, i made a ryu combo for the last one that was intellectually lazy (created it in my head in about 4 seconds and it required pretty much masshing c.MP links), so i didnt upload it.
, looks like i’m not the only one to have seen the easy Gief combo
As for my two Fuerte ones, the opening combo, the only real difference is, if you don’t use EX Quasadilla bomb (the hold K move) then you have to start with a counter, EX does 300 stun & non EX does 200.
Personally i think Dadoppen us all
I’m wondering something about these ASCI controllers, can you download premade templates into them? Like, say, “All Ryu combo trials”, load up the chosen trial and let him complete it on auto?
If you tilt it under a strong light, you can make out traces of what it means. 3’s look like 4’s and 5’s look like 6’s but you can kinda figure it out, especially if you optimize everything step by step as you move forward. If all else fails, plug it into a PS1 or PS2 and you can see it clearly. It also helps to keep stuff written down in a .TXT file or something.
But yeah, it’s a hassle.
Not that i know of. You have to input the sequence yourself. Anyway all those combo trials are pretty much trivial with a program pad. I don’t think there’s much of a point to doing them using programmable controllers unless you need to unlock colors on like 10 consoles or something crazy like that.
For the life of me I can’t do 720s on a keyboard in SF4 for the PC, and I lack any good recording stuff, even our cellphones’s camera recording is ass.
Anyways I just wanted to write down this combo in response to your Gief/Fuerte challenge-

at the end your talking about ken’s ch fierce dp fadc fierce dp not giving free juggle, but he can continue to juggle forever off of that setup, i personally have done many reps of that then finished it with air ex tatsu. am i misunderstanding what your talking about when you say free juggle?
I remember testing this soon after I got the console version and I only remember the EX version being able to juggle infinitely. Here’s a vid (not mine):
