As a special case, I’ll shout out Meijer brand soda, which we have here in Michigan and in a few other states. One of the few offbrand soda lines that legitimately competes instead of just poorly imitating.

I would imagine that Coca Cola’s larger presence in the market has affected your judgment (i.e. the more ubiquitous and well-branded something is, the greater the quality), but that alone cannot properly explain your heresy. The Coca Cola has clearly backed up into your brain and is impeding your ability to think straight and correctly interpret the signals being sent by your taste receptors.
