You know you can add your screenname for AIM/MSN/YahooIM under your profile. Then you can jsut click the little icon for it. =P
Yeah don’t be afraid to hit me up on yahoo guys I dont bite lol
Yeah ok I get what your saying now Gasaraki, you trying to congregate all the AH people. I suppose we can do something like that too. Would you want that to be monthly then? I know you guys said that you want to get more folks into the game thats why I included other types of fighters too (Capcom, SNK, etc.) but whatever you prefer thats good too. I would like to play against you guys in AH though
And don’t forget the thread I put up so if ya’ll want to talk about this more you can go there
yeah sorry I haven’t used Yahoo in over a year or so, I hope I can remember my password.
3 in Irvine after Rob moves here and at least 2 in Mission Viejo which is barely south of Irvine.
Everyone else is up north it looks like. However, I do happen to be in Fullerton during weekends. It sounds like we have a fair number of players but per usual here in socal, we’re pretty spread out which sucks.
Alright, I’m finally back in San Diego (National City). I’ll be here until mid August.
Unfortunately, I have some bad news. My parents are against me
I can partially bypass 1 by using Amtrak, but I’ll still need a driver to pick me up and drop me off at their local station.
Part 2 is a much bigger problem, but I was offered two solutions.
I can ask around to see if any of my friends are willing to go (I’ll have to convince them that AH is an awesome fighting game), but it would be up to you guys to find a “public location.” I’ve heard of game clubs having tourneys at local game stores like gamestop and gamecrazy, but I’ve never set one up myself. These might just be clubs with connections with some of the workers there. If I bring enough friends (3 or more, I guess), I might be able to convince my parents that going to your house/apartment is just as safe, but I’ll have to see who’s willing to make the trip.
I have no problems with hosting, but as I mentioned, I live in San Diego (National City area), so for all of you LA/Irvine people, it’ll be pretty far away. Once my parents meet you and assuming that you don’t do anything too crazy, they’d be more willing to let me Amtrak away.
White Rob, I’ll pm you my cell phone number once I figure more things out (I don’t even know where the Amtrak stops).
Damn, that really sucks man. I won’t really be able to help though since I dont’ have any transportation myself. As for meeting up, we seem to have agreed that renting a hotel/motel room for a day is the best option.
beatsstayflowin: Yeah man maybe your parents would let you go to a hotel more than someone’s housel my parents were the same way when I was younger so I definitely understand where your coming from.
Gasaraki: Yeah doing the hotel/motel thing is a good idea. I guess you guys just want to have your own gathering as far as Arcana Heart players go. Which is cool, but it’d be better to get more folks involved that hasn’t play the game before as well…hence Nextus Revolt lol. But for real, if this event do happen, you guys will just have your own room dedicated to playing Arcana Heart. I’m sure some heads will peek thru to see some sick combos!
My game has been tightening up lately and I’ve only had the game for a week lol
And like I said before, if any of ya’ll have any ideas on how to work this event thru let me know…the thread I posted is looking kinda dry and plus this event is still up in the air…it’ll only come alive if you want it to be.
If you build it, they will come…hahahaha
Yeah, my parents reacted even worse to the hotel idea than they did to the meet at someone’s home idea. Makes sense since a hotel can be the worst place to meet someone if I was say a 13 year old girl. BUT I’M NOT A 13 YEAR OLD GIRL SO WTF, SERIOUSLY. I’m a 21 year old male. I’m a semester away from earning my own pay… Well, I could rant more, but I think I’ll talk about my options.
So if none of you can make it to SD, I’ll try and find some friends to go with me. I’m sure that if I bring 3 or 4 other guys with me, my parents would have to agree that I’d be safe. Hopefully, I can build up an Arcana Heart community in San Diego in the mean time.
If other San Diego people start playing the game, I’d like to test out the gamestop idea. I wonder how game clubs set up events there.
Will you really drive all the way up here from SD? As things are now, I don’t see a major AH event being held anytime soon (that is, IF someone goes through with holding one).
The cool thing is, though, if you can get some people down there into the game and all of you are willing to travel up here, then there’ll be more motivation for someone here to host an event, such as a small tourney of sorts. Since everyone’s so spread out here in SoCal, having an event like that would give all the players incentive to drive out and meet up. I do believe that we’re not that many people away from having enough players to start an actual scene.
On an unrelated note for us OC/LAC’ers, AI still has their AH1 machine.
Wow, you’re older than me man. I won’t even be 21 until October.
[wristcutting]
Also, I fucking suck at this game
[/wristcutting]
Nah, you’re just not used to my new arcana yet with Konoha. Kamui is STILL a royal pain for Fiona to fight, because she seems to be able to intercept half the stuff I do with her normals. It took me a while to remember the dreaded Kamui dead zone for me to adjust my game.
Several things I noticed today.
On Kamui, I can connect jA, jB, land, combo without any problem, but on Konoha, the jB doesn’t come out because Konoha’s too short and nothing combos afterward.
Kamui’s wind pushblock sometimes cause my jB or B to whiff, that’s dangerous because Kamui’s B can hit me at that range.
Post-clash, your 2 frame jab after that can beat 95% of the stuff I throw out. I can beat it with 623D, but I’m not that consistent with the move yet.
Corner fire loop hurts, a lot.
Remember how White Rob destroyed me with Konoha? You need practice using a block string into crossup into combo! Everytime you cross me up I get hit, so if you do it more often I will just keep getting owned. But even now, when you have momentum, you seem to be able to pin me down completely. I tried GC4, got hit, and GC6 only works 1/3 of the time.
In this session, I feel like I have more control of the match against Konoha instead of turtling the entire match because of Konoha’s speed. I’m starting to like lightning. The lightning bnb does decent damage, and the all those clashes can help our post-clash game.
I actually landed Sacred Bringer.
yeah that was part of hte reason I thought wind might work, 6GC puts people right at 5B range.
I’m tryign to practice the blockstring into crossup, the problem is the crossup keeps whiffing and it’s so hard for me to do the SJC double jump off of 2B, it turns into and IAD and then I whiff most of the time.
Man, fucking lightning 6C fuck that lame ass shit dude, I’m crying here. :crybaby:
And fuck Sacred Bringer.
fuck
Shit I need to play more often then every other week, it’s killing me
Sorry about my temper too =(
Don’t worry about it. The rage would only motivate you to get better. :china:
Wind pushblock works all right. Makes Kamui even more annoying to Fiona. Kamui makes Fiona’s broadsword look short.
You need to ask White Rob next time, he makes it look so easy, well he makes everything look easy.
Fiona’s 6C fits pretty well into my game. And yeah we need to be able to play more, if we have more 2-3 week breaks I’ll end up being bored with Fiona and pick up a new Arcana…
…Or character.
I’m not really looking for a major event. Although I’d love a major event, I’m just looking for other players that play Arcana as their main game. I don’t get to play many skilled human opponents since most of my friends don’t play fighting games so I’m looking forward to the opportunity to play others that probably know more than me.
Driving up there isn’t too much of a hassle if I don’t do it too often. I was thinking twice during my summer break would be plenty.
I’d like to spread interest in the game down here, but I’m not sure how to go about it. All I can do is tell my closest friends how much I love the game.
Heh, I’m always working under the assumption that most people on Shoryuken are at least 25 or older. From most topics, I feel like the average poster already has a job, their own car, and their own pad.
well I have a job and I recently bought a car, but it still needs to be fixed up and I still need to get my liscence actually haha. Don’t have my own place yet, but I need to move out with a roommate or something soon.
Yeah I’m saving up to get a car right now and stay with my sister at the moment, but shes moving back to Virginia and I’ll be taking over her place (with a roommate of course lol). By the way, do any of ya’ll know anyone whos willing to move to the Sherman Oaks/Van Nuys area and become a roommate of mine? You’ll definitely have some comp in AH I can tell you that! lol I don’t need a roommate until around November-December timeframe though so keep it in mind!
Depending on cost that’s something I would consider actually. I don’t have alot of stuff so moving that distance isn’t a big issue. My car would be long ready by then so I’d just have to find a job in the area first. But yeah I’d consider that actually
Thats cool man I’ll keep ou up to date on whats going on with the place if your serious about it…
Gasaraki, have you learned the Konoha crossup yet? Half of my Fiona’s game would collapse if you can constantly hit the back of her head. I’ll try Fiona’s 3[C] next time in some situation instead of 6[C], and I need some serious Fiona/Kamui matches too. Need to get rid of that Kamui fear.
I fail at using complex/technical characters. I’m such a scrub.
