Nah I was inviting Rob and Aka no Tsuki to my house. I’d need a ride in any situation as I’m still working on getting a car and no one near plays fighters anymore
Gasaraki’s place is good for White Rob and me since he lives like right in the middle between Irvine (south) and Arcadia (north).
The only problem, is that there’s not enough room for all of us at Gasaraki’s. I know someone who might be getting back into the game and he lives in Rob’s area (Mission Viejo). But as it is right now, this isn’t going to work out for all of us and I would very much like it if we could all attend regardless because the more competition the better.
Well its good to know that folks want to start making things happen for games like this over here too! I just bought Arcana Heart a couple of days ago (watching the vids on YouTube kinda got me interested lol) and I’m really into it. I’m also looking for some comp too; for this game and other obscure fighters as well. Been living out here for about 5 1/2 months (originally from VA) and now I’m trying to see what the fighting game scene is all about over here too. You can count me in as far as folks wanting some comp or just plain out fun on this game so hit me up peoples!:bgrin:

Anyhow, I’ve been playing this game a bit lately so I’m somewhat interested in attending gatherings.
I live in Garden Grove, but will be spending lots of time over in Irvine.

It would be great if we have a place in the middle of the map for gatherings, because everyone seems to be fairly spreaded out.
Yeah that would be cool but I stay with my sister at the moment since I’ve been living here. But hey, here’s a suggestion (and this is actually what my homie did back in VA a couple of weeks ago):
Basically we could get a couple of rooms at a hotel and do a little gathering/tourney started up. What my friend did was made a thread called 757 Lock Down (thats the name of his event) and asked folks if they wanted to participate in the gathering/tourney.
I would rent a room for the night and do a little set up in there (probably a PS2 or Dreamcast), someone else could get a room and set up another system or two as well as bring another tv. If you want your own room for the night then you would have to get it yourself obviously. He did like a $1-2 cover charge which was bascially for buying food and whatnot but we could do something else of that nature.
Just an idea throwing it out there for you guys that may be interested. I know everyone is spreaded out around here and peoples’ work/school schedules are tight so I think this would be a good way to get everyone together on something like a monthly basis you know?
If you guys think this is a good idea to follow up on then let me know and I’ll freakin’ open up a thread particularly for this effort!:bgrin: I have a Comfor Inn hotel right down the street from where I live that has $59 rooms just to let ya know…
yeah we’ve done that before for GG when a friend worked at a hotel. That’s actually not a bad idea at least for something occasional.

The idea sounds interesting, and thankfully someone has stepped up and proposed an idea because finding a place to meet up isn’t always easy.
@Rob: Thanks for hosting again last night. Looks like you’ll be even closer after you’ve settled into your new place. Not that you were far to begin with.
Well I decided to go ahead and make a thread dedicated to doing these gatherings; its called “Nextus Revolt! The Casuals/Tourney in SoCal Thread” in the Pacific South Discussion and Matchmaking area, so if you guys have any other ideas on where to meet up or follow up on my idea you can post it there. Its for all fighting game heads (Arcana, Capcom, Guilty Gear, SNK and the like) too so don’t be shy and give some input! Thanks!

yeah I feel you, need more folks! But its for everyone that likes fighting games period; other folks that are in the Capcom and SNK scene you can probably get them into playing Arcana Heart as well if this event was to happen. I’m also in the SoCalo SNK thread and posted my ad on there as well so we will see who bites:bgrin:
Well I’m more thinkin for just AH peeps, just casuals. I mean the bi-monthly thing for general fighters is cool, but we also need a way to meet up more often to just play.
