I’m mostly a lab guy. I work two jobs and I am planning my wedding right now. The team I want to focus on is Deadpool / Dante / Frank for right now at least.

I also love Skrull. With that new incoming snapshot mixup I want to play a Skrull team. Maybe run Skrull, Trish, and Frank.

Man, I can’t make it this summer either…gotta be in the the South for something around then and kinda bummed about it. Next year’s a definite, but I’m also gonna be done with course work and qualifying exams finally, so I’m gonna be applying to West Coast conferences all year for some “sponsored” trips out there. If I make it West for one of those, I’ll def arrange to go to one of those locals you guys have!
I should be playing a good bit over the summer in a few places in SC and Georgia and then going to regular stuff in Québec as well. I’ll def post it up if I get some archived stuff so you guys can see Mag/Dante/Frank in action haha.
@theCape – yo just saying, I think I’ll be in Cary for at least part of Evo weekend…if you’re on duty no worries, but we could always see if there’s a way to get a few games in.
@VHSCless – IIRC you play on XBL sometimes, right? East/West connections can be shady but not always. Could be fun to mess around and discuss stuff on there some time.
This Frank convention really does need to happen though, lol. I’m sure we all got some tricks up our sleeves that we could pass around

UFGT9 pools and top 32 are still in leveluplive’s archives, but they only imported top 8 into youtube. The above clip trades shaky cam for all the hype and me screaming like a maniac. Looking back, that match was hella sloppy lol.
I’ll hopefully press buttons well enough to be around for UFGT10 as well.

@Slippaz Yeah I do play XBL. But not right now. I’ve been living in Indonesia for the past 5 months. So yeah no XBL until I move back into the States. Man, this sucks. I was looking forward to playing with you guys. But I guess you do what you have to do. If Fizzy and I can make it to EVO, we’ll show all the Frank tech to the world in your guy’s honor. And yeah, I switched to Frank anchor because I got sick of everyone teching the tacs haha.

Yeah man I was really hoping to throw out some paddlesaws at Evo too I guess I’ll have to be the assist character and cook something up for you guys before then haha. Haven’t really been looking at tech lately…mostly just neutral options and trying to maximize blockstrings/chip with Frank while paying more attention to my Mags/Dante.
Incidentally, was telling theDude over PM how to time Dante’s cr.M with Cart, and I’m pretty sure the best option there is Cart, cr.M xx Teleport (immediately) into Hammer. Automatically hitconfirms from max range, leaves you + if blocked, and HSD still allows all of the normal follow-up options you’d usually use off of Hammer. You can do Cart, cr.M, dashx2 Stinger xx Volcano into your BnB and it works, but it’s 1) significantly harder for no reason and 2) can’t be the same on both block and hit (because of Volcano). You can always just Stinger xx Reverb, but you obviously don’t have an assist to extend with Frank post-level anymore, so you’re stuck with level 4 for 2 bars or level 5 with a mediocre follow-up for 3. Figured I’d throw that out there for the X/Dante/Frank players because cr.M is such a ridiculously good Dante button. Just to be clear, Cart has to be hit slightly before cr.M for the two to link, so I’d ideally do dash+Cart outside of poke range and cancel with cr.M.
Edit: @VHSCless Meant to ask how you’re liking the level-up options with the new order. Are you using Rekkoha xx DT into Skydance? (seems to do a lot of damage)…Sougenmu xx DT in the corner to Skydance Frank in? Is the Sougenmu hard tag consistent? That last is really what I want to know, because it’d be pretty awesome IMO. Love to hear what you’ve found there.
Hah! Wouldn’t that be nice. No, Frank’s recovering around the time the last few bullets connect in most instances. Rocky’s too busy putting away his rail gun and pulling out the other gun to provide mixup opportunities beyond X-factor. That’s part of the reason log trap is generally the better assist too; it’s hard to do the THC if you haven’t used the wallbounce because RR’s bullets hit so low that getting the shopping cart to not wallbounce reliably is difficult.
Despite being a large city and a fairly large scene, Chicago doesn’t do weekly tournaments, only monthlies and occasional spurr of the moment stuff. Likewise, we generally only stream the monthlies and they’re presently on monday, which is when I have night classes. Combine that with working on weekends and tournament travel being doable but expensive (relatively speaking) and yeah, don’t see much of me heh.
EVO this year is highly unlikely; I’m tinkering with the idea of saving up in advance for 2015 though.
Have you tried to push Frank as close in to the corner as possible? Does that still link the THC? What about not mashing with Frank on the lead so he finishes a bit quicker?
I tried all sorts of different combinations in terms of height, distance, and mashing VS non mashing. I couldn’t get anything consistent on bounce VS no bounce. You’re welcome to take a stab at it if you want.
I took a look at it. It seems to link properly when they do not float too high, but I can’t seem to find a way to make them stop floating so high. It seems to be very consistent on standing people though. Looks like hitting at the right time on the hard knockdown would do it. Possibly ending with a knee drop and then just timing it right.

@Slippaz Yeah there’s alot of different ways that you can level frank up with zero dante. I use the rekkoha dhc into dt, raw tag knee drop then snap. Or i use buster lightning sougenmu dhc into dt s clay pigeon stinger into sky dance raw tag then snap. the sougenmu raw tag one is situational so i don’t get to use it much
