Tomorrow’s the first Ranbat of the season for AZ, it’s gonna be streamed at twitch.tv/spiralseries so I’ll try to show off some tech there if I get on stream. Been labbing some new stuff too, brainstorming with Slippaz and whatnot.

He’s been using Dante on stream a decent amount actually, a lot of nice calls on when to use defensive acid rain, especially for a relatively new Dante.
I expect good things. For those who haven’t watched Fizzy, his Frank’s solid, and one of his “things” is he can confirm with air camera into dark hole assist with his team composition, and it’s pretty cool, but cart and hole as the assists means he is sometimes forced to stay close, especially with Spencer. The team promotes hype, so get hype.
I’ll be playing Dante, yeah. Dante/Frank/Dormammu, but I am considering your Dormammu/Dante/Frank for the tournament, Slippaz. Either way, expect some posts after this weekend. I’m gonna see if I can convince the TO to upload things to YouTube for ease.
Yeah I’ve seen a very little bit of his Frank shenanigans off a link he posted somewhere on this subforum, but I’ll definitely be looking forward to seeing more and to the stream in general! Glad you guys are getting something going in AZ.

We’ve actually just been talking over PM on here and bouncing random ideas around since we’re using some of the same assists with similar compositions.

Well maybe. But the only really cool thing I did Frank related was the Stalking Flare -> Blue Light Special -> Snapshot thing.
Snapshot a Dormammu out of his Stalking Flare and that’s hype enough. Ghost Rider and Nemesis can do it too, never thought about Frank.
Yeah that BLS DHC was fantastic lol. Gotta be honest I got really hype when you Snapped the Stalking Flare the second time. It was like a kara snap too IIRC, which showed some incredible presence of mind/hitbox recognition.
Aw shucks. Well, Tsumuji is supposed to upload the tournament footage soon to YouTube, so I should be able to post some of the stuff here by the end of the week, if there’s anything post-worthy.
So I guess I didn’t post these here the other day, but, since I know there are some Nova/Frank/Dante people floating around, I’ll throw em up.
First, I compiled the Nova combos I use to level Frank. The worthwhile part would be knowing the midscreen and corner Nova combos that let you build a bar without using your ground bounce. The Nova corner combo isn’t optimized for damage (which doesn’t really matter obviously), but it’s muchhh easier than the double H-H-H loops you’d have to use otherwise. For combos starting with a shopping cart confirm you’d basically always want to just to s.S sj.S for the Frank follow-up just to be sure you don’t get caught overdoing HSD. Also, it’s not in the video, but my opening gambit throw combo with nova would be: Cent Rush L, s.LMHS sj.MH, Rocket Punch L, ADD sj.H, (land) s.S, sj.MMH Grav Pulse M xx Hyper into the sj.S Frank follow-up. That builds a bar and seems to be the most HSD-friendly regarding the (land) s.S part. It does ~836k all told IIRC.
The second thing is nothing new, but all my combos were so scattered that I compiled them into one place. Since I posted that video about using Cent Rush during Tools L loops I changed the order I do things in and they’re pretty much braindead now, and long as you gauge the first Tools L in relation to opponent size–not too bad and even online-friendly. The one modification is that, on Sentinel, you’d have to so s.H(+Nova) after the Tools L to get him high enough. Nothing else requires modification, except that you’d do a j.Tools H on Sentinel after a Knee Drop instead of a standing one.

Also Slippaz, on that first video, would you be able to squeeze out a little bit MORE damage at the end if you did Tools M + Centurion Rush, using the method to instead save your Ground Bounce, then use the Hard Knockdown from Tools M to do an air Tools H, L Zombie Toss, Roundhouse M, then Snapshot?
