To avoid this years mess, in addition to winning Evo 2011, the following conditions must also be met by each character?

Ryu: Must not use fake fireball.

E. Honda: Impossible. If a Honda player wins the final, first place will be automatically awarded to his opponent.

Blanka: Will never happen. Blanka players don’t go to Evo because they’re afraid of Honda.

Guile: This will generally be accepted as a legit win. However, a future revision to HDR will remove c.Forward from the game.

Boxer: Impossible. It has been well documented by Mr. Irrepressible that Boxer is broken.

Ken: Must not use Fierce Shoryuken versus safe jump attempts.

Chun Li: Only if she is used by a real-life asian chick.

Zangief: Must win Evo by defeating Afro Legends, John Choi, Damdai, and DGV, pad or stick is okay. Must defeat the best players in casuals afterwards. Must perform a duet with Celine Dion for Evo attendees. (This is where Snake Eyes dropped the ball.)

Dhalsim: Must defeat all his opponents using yoga teleport exclusively.

Sagat: Must use either low or high tiger shots. Cannot mixup both.

Vega: Must also win SSF4 tourney using Vega.

T. Hawk: Must defeat Honda in finals without using Jab.

Fei Long: Fei is legit unless Sirlin wins.

Dee Jay: Must warn his opponent before attempting a cross-up.

Cammy: Must not use Canon Drills. Safe-on-block Canon Drills is baby zone.

Dictator: Must perform TOD combo twice in one round.

I know that after enough double KO’s the game arbitrarily evens the score, but I never saw or heard anything about the game declaring a winner eventually. Once I somehow managed to get 3 double KO’s in a scoreboard match vs. some Honda lol and he was winning 2 to 1. It magically bumped me up to 2-2 but I managed to lose that round…

Does player 1 automatically win after enough ties, or is it done by something equally stupid like points/coin flips?

In the arcade I believe that if you got two double KO’s in the same match for the last round the game ended for both players.

Yeah the same applies in HDR. I was playing a normal best of 3 match, I won the first round, my opponent won the second, and then we had 2 double K.O. 's and the game ended in a draw.

you know what? These last anti-hdr posts are disgusting and insulting to all who play hdr. This really has nothing to do with the forgiving motion inputs on gief or in hdr in general nor does it has to do with how supposedly inferior hdr is to st. This is hatred for pad players, plain and simple! No one in history has swept through a major sf tournament and used a pad, it’s like a huge slap in the face for any serious longtime sf tournament players. I mean, it’s like dee brown from the celtics winning a slam dunk contest because he pumped up his reebok pump to win the 1991 slam dunk contest. I mean pure baby zone shit, right? I even made my opinion known over 19 years ago that i thought it was stupid that he was use the pump to his advantage and again to this day looking back, i believe the pump was fawking retarded. I mean, i would have rather seen o.dee brown dunk in the contest without the pumps than the reebok edition dee brown that we were left to see afterwards.
