You are gonna get discouraged? You were the one who told me not to let the fact that he is probably gonna be one of the most overplayed characters in fighting game history bother me. Haters gonna hate bro, can’t let salty kids bother you.
Aww I know I said that but man, Hatemail makes me so damn sad. They don’t even know me! Argh. /sheltered
lol I know what u mean, but its the net, i’ve learnt to ignore kids like that. Dudes hated on me for playing tager claiming he equaled easy wins so i’ve learnt to just ignore those people. Besides we will have an element of surprise on people since everyone will probably assume that all dante players are scrubs.
Right…which is exactly what I said here and in the sentinel thread too. =|
Damn son all this fly/unfly talk. Yall realize he can only fly when he transforms right? Dude isn’t gonna be doing fly combos all day like he’s Mags or sum shit. That said I do wanna make a Dante team that focuses on DT Dante. Dammit I WILL make this char god tier if it’s the last thing I do lolol.
Hey guys I know this sounds crazy but i just had Three dreams about playing marvel vs capcom 3.
The first one was I play Dante online with whole bunch of other playing him.
Second one was I got secret copy of the game. Me and my friends was playing at some house.
third one was I pick up my reserved copy of marvel 3 and playing.
Now I even been writing down combo’s for Dante, studying dante’s moves. Thinking about combo’s and so on.
I’m starting to think I just lost it. How am I going to stay focus on school and other things if I got a sick passion to play one character so much? I guess if Dante wasn’t in the game then i wouldn’t play much. Anyway I’m just sharing my thoughts. Do any of you guys get this thoughts or it just me?
Glad to see Dante still getting some love.
Some of which are in entirely inappropriate ways.
Well, although there are alot of other characters I’m really hyped to play as, yeah I’ve actually dreamed about Dante combos and stuff. Can’t wait to get my hands on this game.
Some people are just so weird.
No shit he can only fly while transformed, which is why we’ve been discussing the possibilities since he can transform mid combo and continue. That’s extra damage/possibilites after transformation. Also, mags doesn’t really even do fly combos.
In this game? Why wouldn’t he be able too?
Oh, I thought you meant in mvc2. He can do fly combos in mvc2, but they’re really not optimal. In mvc3 though, it’s possible they might be of more use since some of Magneto’s stuff(like ROM) is gone. But this is the Dante thread, not the magnus one.
Edit: Dante’s Jam Session might be come of use for other characters like Sentinel during fly combos since you can call assists during flight mode and Jam Session seems to have endless vertical range.
Does anyone know what the origin of his blue haired costume is supposed to be and why it has red eyes? Someone suggested it was Ryu from BoFIII but the eyes seem to suggest something else, any ideas?
Ryu from Bof, but red eyes might symbolize Dante’s demonic heritage.
Really thinking of running a team based around getting Dante into DT form and keeping him there. Mostly cuz of the hype around Dark Nix. Unlike her though Dante can choose when he wants to power up and it only costs one bar. It only lasts about 9 secs which is just long enough for me to lay on sum hurt, but if you have at least 3 bars committed to DTing then that’s 27 secs almost 1/3rd of the entire match time. Now the other down side is DT Dante isn’t Dark Nix obviously. He doesn’t jump up from top tier to god Tier (or maybe he does since most consider him top already so it wouldn’t be this gigantic leap but idk). He gains a few new moves, but mostly I’m doing it for the buff in stats as well as potential combo possibilities since he can probably do air combo to air dash combo then fly combo to sky tempest cancel into million dollar or sum nonsense like that I’m sure.
Thoughts on this anyone?
You would need two other chars that don’t necessarily need meter to be effective and can act as solid batteries. Wesker and Morrigan immediately come to mind. Wesker hits like a truck and really doesn’t need meter and he’s awesome at opening people up. Morrigan has Dark Harmonizer and is a shoto variant with a solid moveset backing her up.
I was thinking the same thing with DT Dante… Morrigan and Wesker. DT should last long enough to get in two of her kisses, and you can sit back and fly around zapping people all day and end up with enough meter to do it again. Wesker, cuz, well, it’s Wesker, and that low assist coupled with teleport will make DT pay off with a combo/pressure every time.
I was planning on running chris on point and dante as my second character and maybe she-hulk as my anchor, word on the street is chris builds a nice amount of meter and his hypers aren’t looking to beefy at the moment so he won’t really need it. Im thinking of running she-hulk on AA assist since its risky to use my meter dump(dante) as my AA assist. Chris builds of a decent amount of meter playing his keepaway and then he tags dante in, immediately transforms into DT and starts wrecking shop. While thats my main plan if dante dies, or should i say when dante dies, chris and she-hulk work well together(in theory), she-hulks AA assist covers chris main weakness, and chris with his sub-machine gun assist should help she-hulk get in.
Finally if any of them ends up being my anchor, they are benefit very well from x-factor so it works fine no matter who ends up being last. Overall I think the team might work very well. Oh and quick question, what costume were you guys referring to? I don’t know of any dante outfit with red eyes.
EDIT: Yo jocelot heres a pic of dantes outfits you could add to the OP http://www.fightersgeneration.com/np6/mvc/colors/dante-noscale.jpg
Sounds solid to me. Wesker has unblockable setups, Morrigan gives meter, and neither of those two characters need meter to get their game going and are good at opening people up. Sounds like a solid rushdown team since all these characters probably work well together.
The Devil Trigger thing sounds like it could work since none of them necessarily need the meter. Also, to anyone who has played him, does Dante have a good anti-air?
Hey, thanks man. I’ll do that right now.
This…more than half the players who use Dante will just end up being corny or really shitty, or just copying combos that they have been watching on youtube before this games launch(which is still corny lol) so I am not worried. but before coming to this thread I thought Dante was just being over hyped so I was not considering using him just for the fact that everyone else and their grandma will be…but looking at some of the videos you posted on the first page I am reconsidering, his play style is pretty damn clean and sharp! not only that I would love to master him just so I can show up and beat the shit out every corny Dante player I come across online, and show them how the character is REALLY played LMAO!!!
