Zelda confirmed strongest power level
Removing an inescapable tactic that literally causes even top level players to drop their controller, flip the other player off, and walk away, is cause to be UPSET? Please be joking.
Compiling a list of stages made more viable by removing hazards, ignoring obvious stuff like FD and Smashville. Still not sure about transitions though. Threw in a few old stages that werenât around in Smash 4 but were viable when they were in
-Brinstar
-Frigate Orpheon
-Halberd
-Jungle Hijinx
-Kongo Jungle (Melee)
-Kalos League
-Midgar (Battlefield, really)
-Mushroom Kingdom U
-Mario Circuit (Smash4)
-Norfair
-Pokemon Stadium (1/2)
-Prism Tower
-Pyrosphere
-Skyloft?
-Tortimer Island?
-Unova Pokemon League
-WarioWare
-Wily Castle (?)
-Wuhu Island (?)
-Yoshiâs Island (64)
-Yoshiâs Island (Brawl)
-The Return of Randall
The hell is âThe Return of Randallâ? EDIT: Oh, the Cloud.
Anyway, to comment on some of thoseâŚ
Skyloft got banned because some of its transitions caused really undesired behavior on rare but not unheard of circumstances. Youâd get mauled by cliff-edges or fall through terrain in such a way that you died for no good reason. Happened just often enough to justify banning it, which sucked because it was otherwise an awesome stage. Itâs not the hazards per se, it was the stage geometry not working right that caused tihs ban. I hope they fix it.
Wuhu Island was banned because of walkoffs, to which I say âfuck the smashboards community.â Walkoffs are only a problem if you have chaingrabs or similar 0-death loops that are guaranteed to kill, and hopefully by now those are all gone in Smash 5.
The Pokemon stages are subject to legit debate. Some have tons of walls, others have occasional geometry issues where folks fall through. Whether a Hazards toggle is enough to save any one of them is something weâd need to talk over because thereâs a case to be made in either direction.
Are they adding 3DS stages? If so, Magicant deserves a VERY strong mention; get rid of Flying Man/etc. and that stage is absolutely fine and deserves to be in tournament play.
A lot of your suggestions are countered immediately by âNo hazards turns off transitionsâ so I would hold off on that. Itâs worth noting though, that despite all the shenanigans on Pokemon Stadium 1 in Melee, it was still tournament legal.
Magicant is already confirmed to be in the game. Itâs in Nessâ trailer. Flying Man wasnât the problem with that stage and the reason it never ever ever ever was even considered was because the tiny stage below the main stage meant that if you could get there after taking a single stock, you force your opponent into an almost no win scenario. Anyone could just stall forever down there since there was no way to reach it safely without your opponent having a ridiculous advantage on you.
Magicant may end up being too big a stage, even without hazards
Ps1 should be hazards on and a cp
Ps2 hopefully gets transitions turned off and becomes the best neutral stage ever
Skyloft should he fine if transitionless
Permanent Walkoffs are camp heavy zones that lead to super cheesy KOs. They will and should always be banned
âŚI see that my memories of Magicant have been influced by a modded version of it. The version I recalled didnât have the platform you spoke of. Looked at the original/true stage and sure enough, there it is.
That would be a problem. Hopefully that shit goes.
Then all I can is âfuck, damnit, shit. That stage would have been great if not for that ONE THING. With it, no, I canât endorse using it in tournaments.â
Found anâŚinteresting interaction.
Saw Mega Man steal an Assist trophy that Snake was holding by Bair-ing him. I donât remember that being a thing, was that a thing?
Ganon now has a tipper in his smashes. F-Smash does 31% damage at the tip.
Ganoncide is still possible, but the opponent can mash out of it now. I think they made this change because Ganon doesnât go into a helpless state anymore.
This removal of all the non-Up B helpless states can only bring about good
Man I really love the new Zeldaâs look.
SonicFox challenging ZeRo to a FT10 in Smash UltimateâŚYeah Iâm not putting money on SonicFox
Heâs gonna get bodied⌠unless he spends a lot of time grinding smash 4 with players until Ultimate comes out. Not sure how much time he wants to invest in this.
âŚwait sonicfox doesnt play smash.
One does not simply jump into smash and challenge a god. Dont care how simplistic the game is. If he takes 3 games off of ZeRo ill be impressed let alone 1.
Donât underestimate the furry god
Heâs the one doing the underestimating. Underestimating the dude on top of Smash, and underestimating how much does not translate from other 2D fighters to Smash
That being said, itâs refreshing to actually see someone try. Sick of FGC looking down on Smash like itâs a cancer. I mean, most of the top players are, but whatever
Is Zero still on the top? I remember him dominating at sm4shâs early life, but I think he isnât too dominant right now. And didnât he said that he would stop playing or something?
