ZeRo has rivals like MKLeo and Nairo, but he’s always been number 1. He backed off from competing, but certainly wasn’t because he was on the decline
There are a lot of things that translate from regular fighting games to smash but there’s way more fluidity in movement and situations in that game because of how the game works. There isn’t a predetermined arc that people jump in and though you can mix people up just about everything in Smash is read heavy. There aren’t going to be too many times that Fox is going to just put free oppression on anyone in this game so it’s going to be interesting to see how he adapts.
What character would he even play?
I’d put hard money on him being Sheik
As much as I fucking hate zero, let’s be clear: In terms of raw wins, he is on top. While others have begun to rival his performance, he’s always a threat. He also won the E3 tournament, giving him a very recent high profile win.
Capt. furry over there might not be aware he’s in over his head against zero.
I think he’s gonna play Bayo. Fox loves those “cheap” things, lol… or Sonic, to match his name LMAO.
ZeRo is just pulling a Third Strike Gill on SonicFox.
Using a fight to further his agenda and SonicFox will not backdown because of pride.
But anyway screw that noise.
I am just hype Ryu will have a real neutral that leads to his win condition.

Oh, he’s clearly a good player. I’m not doubting that at all.
It’s just that going from ‘does not play Smash’ to ‘expects to take on the #1 player in very short order’ is unrealistic. Ambitious, but unrealistic. That said, seeing as I don’t like either player particularly much… eh.
I don’t think Fox will win either, but I don’t think it will be 10-0 in Zero’s favor. I think Sonic Fox will, at least, win 2 or 3 games.
I like SonicFox as a person, but his disposition to dominate every game he touches makes me dislike seeing him in every GF.
If you’re not playing to win what are you playing for? Be godlike or go home.

The issue here is smash meta is not very relevant to fighting game fundamentals. It’s not like DBFZ where he gets the benefit of playing skullgals or something. He’s already splitting time on other games and there’s only so many hours in the day. If he wants to do well in SSBU then he’ll need to drop something else.

Not saying anyone here in particular is doing it, but wanted to signal boost: Sakurai appears to be undergoing a lot of harassment from people upset about Waluigi not being playable in Smash 5.
Fucking stop it. He’s working under absolutely insane conditions to bring us these games, working to the point of giving himself calcific tendonitis.
Does it suck that Waluigi’s not in? Sure. Sucks just as much as Lyn not being in. The man nonetheless has finite resources and is bringing us an absolutely jam-packed game full of content. We need to be thanking him, not ripping into him for failing to add Waluigi or Harambe or whatever other meme-driven character inclusion is making the rounds.
Imagine working absurd hours on a labor of love, one meant to make as many people happy as possible, and a semi-organized campaign to give you shit for omitting one detail springs up. That would be rage inducing at the very least.
I’m not saying he’s perfect, but holy shit this is like kicking a puppy in the gut and demanding it fetch trees instead of sticks. Fucking stop it.
Again, not saying any one specific person here is doing it… but if the line of thought seems familiar, or you know someone who has been doing this, call them out on it.

Super hardcore Smash fans are worse than any other video game fan base.
Smash was always the most ambitious game series Nintendo ever had. From my experience testing a game based on one of the most anticipated sequels is both great and bad (CoD:MW2). Working on this game Smash would be a dream yet a nightmare to program test and adjust. I’m happy and grateful we get half of what is already promised.
They’re certainly the most ungrateful, but worst? When League of Legends is still around?
