I think it would be funny if there was a reference to these shenanigans somewhere in there.
I feel this was asked a zillion pages ago, but will Skullgirls be at Seasons Beatings this year?
I know SG is 2d but do you have anything from a 3d fg that you wanted to use?
It was a joke referencing how in FPS and I think RTS games, the keyboard and mouse are the superior method of control.
Actually, that might be the case with fighters to, or at least old ones. Depends on how good block+move forward+charge sonic boom is.
Nah dog, you care about aesthetics and you’re a scrub. That’s why I refuse to play Arcana Heart.
Please tell me you’re being sarcastic again. >_>
speaking of which, next time you guys are on the east coast, can you or master chibi make a post here in big bold red, all caps, so I don’t miss it
I like aesthetics, good stories, memorable/interesting/identifiable characters and all that jazz, but when it comes down to it I’ll play a fighting game about stick figures cock-slapping each other if it has good gameplay.
Watching a game develop over time is far, far more interesting than seeing it change every week so characters who might not even be that bad can compete before everything about them has even been figured out IMO. In the vast majority of cases it’s very, very difficult to tell apart a truly overpowered thing from something that just appears overpowered because a counter hasn’t been discovered yet. Games being such mysterious systems, we can never really know if X “overpowered” thing has some obscure counter. The best we can hope to do is leave enough time for counters to be found that we can at least say “it’s extremely unlikely that a counter exists”. How long is a reasonable period of time is a judgement call, but given past history I think we can at least say that, outside of the most extreme broken stuff (I’m thinking win buttons here), updates within the first six months of a game’s life are jumping the gun.
“Stick-figure Cockslap Battle Armature Gaiden Deluxe” was our backup in case nobody wanted to publish Skullgirls.
For whoever said it, I played the HELL out of Virtual On but I wouldn’t consider it a 2D fighter. (^.^)
And I totally forgot about WW7…
I’m pretty sure he broke Professor Frink’s sarcasm detector with the mouse/keyboard thing, but I’d guess so, yeah.
Also, shoutouts to EFZ.
Yep. That got sigged. No way around that one.
You should have played me in Psychic Force or MM7 at EVO so I could have redeemed myself :’).
Someone probably did ask, and I probably said we wouldn’t be.
However, that seems to be changing… Probably won’t know officially until we’re back from GamesCom next week.
gamescom in germany?
sigh I wanted to go but I can’t
AAAARGHHH. I’m upset now. I didn’t think you guys would be there.
Since the regular updates this week won’t be happening, we put a new music track up on our Facebook page. It’s for the Anti-Skullgirls Lab.
Y](‘http://www.facebook.com/skullgirls’)ou can finally see the real ASG Labs background in the video, too!
I… made a mess
Gat dayum, that is awesome. Thanks, Rav! Please add a Metroidvania mode now;)! Or maybe just give me a completion % for each background to soothe my OCD.
Time to paint the town red!
O…kay. I’m confused as to how that relates to Arcana Heart… =/
YES. This is so great. I really hope we can get an OST later. I also hope we can get some footage from GamesCom when you guys get back :3
lol
I’ve played every game Mike listed, some for far too long. I remember coming up with tactics for every game too, my Hinako in Ranma was GODLIKEEEEE~ I like me over everyone in the world in Sailor Moon though.
Newest music track is leaving me without the ability to conjure up the proper adjectives to describe how much I love it.
Also how much $$$ can I throw at you to have a truly fabulous cameo in this game?
ahem
