Skullgirls' Trophies and Achievements

Hello Nurse - Peacock Painwheel Valentine team beating arcade mode
Chubby Filia - Drop 100 combos on Filia
???/ - Defeat your opponent with an infinite

This. Also, about the “kill a character in one combo” trophy, can it just be some like “perform a TOD combo” or “perform a combo that does X amount of damage” that can also be earned in training? I only want the change because I think it would be annoying trying to get that trophy since random hits and chip damage would mean that you didnt kill a character in one combo. So you basically would have to wait to punish your opponent so that your first hit is guaranteed and then hope that you dont mess up your long ass combo.

Fundamentals-based achievements:
Punish an enemy’s unsafe super move.
Kill a blocking opponent with a throw.
Use an assist during a combo.

Advanced achievements:
Use a Stunt Double and then cancel that Stunt Double into another move.
Perform resets in 5 separate fights.
Use an assist to perform a hard-to-blockable.
Kill an opponent with a combo that started from a reversal.

Extreme difficulty/style achievements:
**Mag-something-neato **- Perform a combo in which you dash or airdash at least twice during it.
H.O.R.S.E. - Utilize a ground bounce, wall bounce, assist, and snapback in the same combo.
HAW! HAW! HAW! HAW! - Max out your super meter without hitting or damaging your opponent in any way. Cannot be done in Training Mode.
**Air Traffic Controller **- Have at least 6 of your own projectiles onscreen simultaneously without using meter.
Fightman Game: Injury Maximum - Win a Skullgirls tournament at an EVO-series major event. (Requires DLC)

“NOOOOOO!” - While at 5% or less life, block a projectile with the bodyguard soldier and win the match with a counter super

Double Head-er - in a 1v1 mirror match, get a double k.o. with both players dealing the final damage with Ms. Fortune’s head

(and then this one, if you can be slightly suggestive)

:

I like those although I gotta ask, whats this “Fightman Game: Injury Maximum” that people keep mentioning?

A theoretical fighting game that Mike (or maybe it was someone else at Reverge, I can’t remember) made up once when trying to describe a point.

Basically amazing.

To elaborate on my #2:
Make the ones need to get trophies quick and possible if not easy, whereas the optional online trophies be part of ‘bonus’ trophies and they can be for stuff like I dunno ‘Win 100 Ranked matches’.

lol thanks man!

http://skullgirls.com/2011/09/skullgirls-ggpo-and-you/

(I’d like to note that if my goals are not good goals, feel free to suggest or use better goals for my achievement names. For example, I really like Real Soviet Homage from Master Chibi, but winning a match with only 360’s is impossible as they take meter).

It’s Not Cheap! - Kill a character in one combo in a 1v1 or 2v2 match (where everyone’s life is set at 100%)
I Like Turtles - Win a match with a time up without dealing any damage in the last fifteen seconds
Supporting the Developers - Beat arcade mode with a DLC character
The Magic Pixel - Win a match with less than 1% life
Kumite - Play 50 matches against one online opponent in one sitting
Running Sets - Win 50 matches against one online opponent in one sittiing.
I’m Not Fat! - Land all of Fillia’s supers in one combo
That Was A Joke - Hear all of Ms. Fortune’s puns
Meme Magnet - See every move in the game that is a reference (including all referential peacock item drops and random referential lines like "EXCUSE ME PRINCESS"
Get Yo Ass Whupped! - Win Two Perfects in a Row
Tournament Rules - Face the same online opponent in three matches and win at least two of them.
Final Destination - Play on every stage in the game
Maine Chicken - Play as the same team in over 50 consecutive matches
The Road to Evo - Win an online tournament
Umbrella-ella-ella-ay-ay-ay - Perform a combo with Umbrella that evades the infinite protection system for over six chunks
Best Game In Show - Spend 28 Hours playing the game (same time as the NYCC was open)
C-C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!! - Infinity burst 10 times in one match
Let’s Go B*tch! - End a series of player matches with five or more wins than your opponent, then start to play the exact same opponent in another series.
RUSSIAN SCIENCE WILL RISE AGAIN! - Play a 1v1 Peacock V Cerebella match at the ASG labs
I Challenge You! - Be or beat someone who has played Skullgirls in alpha.
Reset Button - After landing your first hit on a character, kill them in more than one combo without them successfully blocking or attacking back.
Scoops! - Land more than 4 air sections of a non-infinite combo

Also even though I am in love with Cerebella, if I had an achievement attached to my name it would have to be more publicly accessible, more to do with the name itself like.

My Life Is An RPG - In a 3v3 match, alternate character deaths without assisting, tagging, stunt doubling, or DHCing.

In the long paragraph about input lag.

World Warrior - Play on every stage

I’m going to echo the idea of using trophies/achievements to incentivize using training mode or some of the more technical elements of the gameplay system. Doing so could help nudge new Skullgirls players out of the casual mindset and playstyle by introducing them to what many of us here consider “proper play”. In much the same way as playing, say, an MMO at max level or in endgame content is so completely different (read: better, more interesting, more immersive) an experience as to be almost a different game altogether, fighting games suffer from a rough segregation of players. Converting some portion of those who just own or have played the game – mashing buttons simply to feel active, throwing raw supers at random, spamming unsafe special moves all day – into those who actively play the game – seek to improve by seeking competition, practice, read forums, watch streams – is one of the hardest parts of FG development and expanding the presence of the genre, be it within the market or in an e-sports sense.

Are trophies/achievements the magic bullet? No. But, offering titles and character palettes qua a thinly-veiled fighting game education is a low cost opportunity to use existing systems for the potential of great rewards for the community.

These are all a really good idea… almost as if they were divinely inspired… ahem

Joining the Community - Play your first online match after completing all of the tutorials

Lesson #6 - (You get the idea, its a series of achievements that only occur AFTER you have played a tutorial and then used these skills in a match)
Castlevania: Polka of Malaise - Use a custom soundtrack

please no 10+ win streaks
