Pretty much. Research for a good cause gets funding and, regardless of the outcome, we should have some interesting games to watch (or play if you’re heading to EVO) this year.

Yeah…I apologize for that, my passion for skullgirls kind of got out of control and led to a whole fiasco that was just unnecessary…
Except for me, lol. I think I’m the one guy on XBL Skullgirls who is still so bad that every match I find usually results in me getting destroyed by my opponent/s real quickly. I generally learn more about how to use their characters than my own while playing.
Is this supposed to be a point against or for Smash?
This is the case for everyone though, no? We have $3200+ donated. Instead, we could’ve gotten a trusted member of the community (Mike Z :p) to set up a “Donate here for EVO pot bonuses” bank account. Smash wants on stage. And, as noted, getting Smash a sidetourney is harder to do than said to begin with.

Well, it’s not EXACTLY the same, because in Melee’s case ONE PERSON is donating $3300, as opposed to hundreds of people donating for SG. So… it’s a hell of a lot easier for ONE PERSON to take his money to EVO and do things, no?
Also, when is this supposed magical Melee drive supposed to happen?

I knew it. I had nothing to worry about as far as SkullGirls beating out the other games, but now I think if I have any money left thats not going toward EVO and can be directly spent it will go to Fighting Is Magic just because I want that $1000 dollars for that game only. However it will be at EVO either way so I won’t get too upset since I will be there for it either way. Actually I can’t really get upset when I look at the massive funds we as a community put togther for breast cancer. I may have seen some trolls and whiners here, but if any of you gave any money at I then thank you for doing a good thing regardless of the game you voted on(im assuming SG beacuse of this thread, but then not all of us did). Unless Guilty Gear, being one of the higher ones in the poll, makes a comeback then the one and only game among the main 8 I will enter is SkullGirls myself. Thank you members of the fighting game community who donated for fighting hard against cancer. We’re guarenteed to have a fantastic EVO 2013!

It happens tomorrow. It isn’t a one person donation, but a group of players that are coming together to entice others to donate with their money by creating a substantial money jump, if people manage to hit $1,000 USD. It might be being run by a Podcast, but it’s more than just one guy shelling out the money. I’m sure the event will have a full list of the backers once it occurs. Based on the projected numbers in the thread since that announcement, Smash is going to probably going to break the $10,000 mark. Also, we’ve had many players that were busy due to Apex [World Wide Smash Tournament] on the weekend, who have all held off to donate for this due to lack of a computer/time.

Come on dudes! I’ve been promoting skullgirls link to the Twitter and facebook world since the donation drive started. We all have to spread the word around! Go on breast cancer forums start threads there! We all need to spread the link around spam it! We need the donation win to come through for us. Also spread the word about salty cupcakes stream, well be giving the link there also. We have to promote this hard for a great cause!
