SJC Help!

What inputs are you doing?

dont worry dude, i was at that SAME spot that you were at 3 months ago… i was thinkin the same thing…in all honesty it will just take your brain time to adjust… id practice it for a week and got no better, then a week after that after having not practiced, i was a little better… for no reason at all.

now im up to between 60-90% in training mode as far as how much i can hit it from the target combo, when i frst turn on the game… after about 15 minutes of practice i get it to about 90% or so in T-mode… i still practice it… im sure that all the guys in here still practice it as well… even the guys that can pullit off with 80% consisency in real matches probably still practice it a bit just to get that extra 10-15% or so.

your brain will adjust, its just going to take work. especially if you, like me, didnt have a viper background in vanilla.

also i suggest trying the easier sjc to ultras first then moving up… they all have different timings, for whatever weird reasons… if you are playing on pad, mingo says that doing it from st.mk is easy… but for a stick player i can tell its is a BREEZE to do it from a cr.mp… i literally have a 90% success rate on it the first time i try it even after having not played the game for days… it feels just like a regular ryu cr.mk xx super except that you finish it at up forward instead of just forward.

after that learn to do it from lk,mk target combo… its the second easiest way to do it.

then do it from a cr.lp or lk.

then do it from tc4.

then do it from an st.mk…

i listed those from easiest to hardest for me. you may experience it differently… just experiment.

also most stick players like myself can do it ALOT easier when they are on the 2 player side… if you are the same way, i would suggest doing from whatever side you are most comfortable on.

if you are new to fighting games, to find out which side you prefer, do a dp motion with ryu on the one player side, then do it on the two player side… which ever side you feel more comfortable on will be the same side that you will find sjc u2 to be easiest on.

i hope that helped a bit…

probably not though, its just T-mode time that you need in the end.

I believe he said TC6 xx SJC command dash, not SJC U2.

:lp: - :mp: - :d::hk: - :hk::u: - :ub::hcf: :hk:

@ Dime: No…i’m not new to fighting games. I can sjc into ultra2 fairly easily…I understand the concept and I know what to look when it’s not working.

it’s sjc’ing TC6 into the command dash that I can’t do.

I always get TC6 - SJ - nothing

hmmm hope this vid might be helpful to you. all i can tell u is this:

-tc6 , into qcf,f/u + Kicks
Details: lp,mp, d+fk, fk (do this combo fast and as soon as ur done pressing the last fk press and hold down slightly in preparation to dash) .
after the last FK is fully animated, animate SMOOTHLY and a little bit slowly (without ANY RUSH) f/d,f,f/u.

by means no need to rush at all…take ur time, it’s not bout doin it fast or the exact notation! it’s more about timing.

easier to start with cr.fp into SJC to dash…if u figure out the time for it, u will understand the concept of dashing (hopefully u will get it and will make it easier for u to pull dash SJC after TC6)

-cr.fp. as soon as u do it hold down, wait untill the animation of the cr.fp is done and then SMOOTHLY and slowly do the same thing (f/d,f,f/u)

here’s the link:

when u watch the vid, look at my inputs and see the timing it might help

Damn that’s a ton of extra unnecessary inputs. Try

:lk::mk: :d::hk: :hk: :qcf::uf::hk:

lol…I know…but I have tried it that way…and it has an even lower success rate for me…

xxteefxx: i’ll give that method a try and see if it works better…

try to be precise dude…the Super jump to dash need more precision. if u masterd doin SJC to u2 using this command (qcfx2 f/u+3 kicks) , then doin SJC dash will be cake (basically same time input as well as command/ practice)…and vise versa ofcourse

GL

PS: dont forget, be slow, take ur time and no need to rush at all…also slow doesnt mean slow poke, means inputting the exact notation correctly and without any rush at all

SJC help

Sjc to command dash us actually quite easy, you have to make sure to go back to neutral after the tc

Sent from my Eris using Tapatalk

^ what do you mean by neutral?

Let go of your stick.

my bad, i tldr’d everyting and assumed it was tc4 sjc…

tc6>sjc is easier imho.

-dime

^ guess I’m weird then…because I fine TC > Ultra alot easier and much more forgiving when it comes to timing…

Well what do ya know…going “neutral” after tc6 makes a big difference…

there are now times where I can do it 2-3 times in a row in training mode…after that I fail for the next 15 minutes >-<

I also dropped the extra inputs and now aim for: :lp: :mp: :d::hk::hk: :qcf::uf: :k:

just to make sure I understand:

  • when I get nothing after the TC it means I’m going too fast, right?

  • and when I get a SJ after the TC it means I’m going too slow, right?

How do you get nothing? If you get nothing, you’re doing your inputs completely wrong because TC6 is jump cancellable. Unless you’re doing it incredibly fast (unlikely).

Ive been in training for a lil bit and noticed that the cr.mp > sjc > ultra 2 is a lot more forgiving than the other ones and you can also link it with the 2 cr.lp>st.lp>cr.mp>sjc>ultra 2
been workin on it for a day or so and it seems pretty viable in actual matches any thoughts?

why not just do st.mk instead of mp?

because the cr.mp > sjc > ultra 2 seems easier than the st.mk > sjc > ultra 2
it could just be me but seriously try it out. seems like you have more time to do it with the cr.mp than the st.mk

SJC off of c.mp is a bit easier, because you have more time. It’s a one frame link, tho, where s.mk is a very easy link. It’s a bit of a tradeoff. Either work, but one is a harder link, the other is a harder sjc.

yeah that what i was trying to say lol it just didnt come out that way haha thanks dannkk

Either way you would probably just want to combo into untech knockdown unless you are sure the U2 will kill
