i liked him since cota. i always wanted him back after cota but he was missing in msh, xvsf, msh vs sf, mvc1.
no one gave a fuck about him back then until the mvc2 craze and now people are bandwagoning him.
I’ll be honest. I got sick of betting mashed out of everything. I would lose to mashing SO much, but when I found out his launcher was hyper armor, I felt maybe this guys can stop mashers. I was right. Sentinel is that one character that keeps people honest and make them afraid to press buttons. My kind of character.
Also, I felt the team I was using was going to be too much work. After using a low tier character for years in multiple games, I just got fed up. Now I don’t have to worry about it. I was a low tier Q and Hugo player and 3s and switch to Chun-Li for the same reasons. Now I can play the game and not worry about losing to dumb stuff.
When i first play this game i would literally feel like smashing my TE because all of my chars would get killed by sentinel -usually their last char- but when i figure out his metagame -and also build a team straight from Jwong- i learn some dos and donts.
I’ll play sent if someone on in a room is dominating cause he anchors my best team, x23,trish,the mighty sent lol. x23 and trish are good on offense but can get wasted sometimes due to low hp especially x23, it’s nice to have the strongest character backing them up, also his lvl3 x-factor is named comeback from anything lol
i don’t play him in non ranked games so everyone can have fun but then again, most people use their best teams anyway.
sent’s the only character that i really like and has high damage obviously, but i feel like you can put in a high amount of training into it and u will be rewarded, i want to be a high level sent player
i still dont even know what my main 3 characters will be but i know sent will be one of them, plus drones assist is good, you should be good with all ur characters , even the ones used primarily for assists, not just the point characters, plus the health factor, characters like sent, she-hulk, tron, hagger, almost have to be on ur team cuz they have so much more health than everyone else
I miss the fast fly , but I love flying unflying , and curb-stomping

Eh, I don’t but I find it wildly entertaining when I’m beating someone in player match and they switch to Sent and start spamming away after a few matches and I still give him the bidness with Zero Rushdown and crossups. Not being able to win with Sentinel is just the ultimate display of inferiority in this game.
Truthfully I was set on playing as Sent as soon as he was placed on the rumor list of characters. I kinda wish his damage wasn’t so high because then everyone would a) stop playing him, it’s sad how many people actually play as him yet have no clue how to actually “play” as him and b) everyone would stop bitching about him. Bait out any normal move thats worth using and you are given your chance to punish, it’s a shame that so many players have no clue how to punish him because it’s really not that hard, you just have to play smarter since 1 little tiny mistake can cost you a character.
yeah man, i kinda agree. he was a pretty interesting cool choice in cota and then strangely missing from the other vs games…once they put him in mvc2 and brought him back in mvc3 im just like “fuck him” tho.
Its my goal to beat anyone who plays top tier characters, especially sent. id do it with low tier characters in this game like i do in every other game I play but truth is there are’nt any in this game imo

His assist is too good, i don´t like him but drones are crucial for some teams to work.

I never said he was fair, I simply stated my reasons why I like him which is the point of this thread.
And he is easy to punish, even a good Sent. Sent only has so many options, try to look for something specific like when nubs start spamming launcher or frying pan, these moves have tons of recovery and can not be canceled into flight and such.
You may also have to just except the fact that maybe the characters you play do not have the tools to beat Sent. This game is just like SSF4 in terms of matchups, it’s best to know multiple characters since not every character can go head to head with every character. Arthur is a prime example, he’s terrible against characters with teleports and godly against everyone else. Sent is great but when you get stuck in the corner against a good rushdown player all of the super/hyper armor moves don’t even seem to work since the startup on most of them is just awful.
sentinel is fun to use: he punishes button mashers, zoners, lamers, random hypers
i for 1 don’t sit in the corner,spam assist and use standing/crouching spit, but its fun to rush in and rape a sentinel player who does. sent is one of the easiest players to rush down, but you have to be patient in doing so. waiting for punish, cross-ups, mix-up highs n lows to instant overheads. the main thing against a sentinel player is to wait for their mistakes and punish accordingly. don’t expect to rush in and instantly start your L M H S combos and what not. learn to play your characters, learn what moves beat what.
i play wesker/sent/tron… drones assist with wesker’s L teleport = fun cross-up. with wesker’s otg and sent drones, i can do high damage with no meter, amazing damage with meter, also drones help tron get in for combos, and sent is just great on his own. he can be your point character, 2nd, or anchor and rape either way.
Sent isn’t godlike, he just likes to be put on that high pedestal, so he can kick you when your down and smash you with a frying pan if you think your getting up
that hard drive loop made me laugh so hard for some reason, but yah more power to that higher level sent. its sad to play a ranked match and see that the person is on a 13w streak and when you play him…all he does is sit in the corner spam spit and assist. obvious sent is a dead sent.
