As silly as this sounds I only been using Sent as an assist. lol.

Anyways, I’m playing around with him right now and everything is peaches and cream until they try to sj. right into my space. Assist is a little too slow so how do I have the preemptive strike on these guys who try to keep me from zoning them and jump right in my face?

I’m thinking :s: but maybe thats a little too slow or something.

Or get Morrigan to spam Dark Harmonizer.

Then once you see Sentinel going for launcher spam, or whatever slow move he wants to spam, do THC as a punish.

Maybe H.Rocket punch? or j.E?

That shit is light imo. Go c.L>c.M>A1 as fast as possible. Then input Sent force as soon has the 2nd hit from c.M confirms

Sooooo perhaps this is old ass news but did you guys know that you can infinitely juggle an assist with :s:? I was playing arcade on very hard, laming it out with sent and mashing on :s: then the com called Storm and I juggled her like 3 times until she died. This may need testing though.

cute combo, dunno if it’s been mentioned yet:

s > j.c xx fly, delay j.a > j.c xx unfly, delay j.c, s > j.c xx fly, j.a, j.b, j.c xx unfly, dj.c > j.s into the rest. you can substitute j.d for dj.c because the timing is especially tricky.

the key really is to delay the first j.a as much as possible, since j.c gives you 3489579834759834 frames of hitstun. the combo is possible midscreen, but it’s inconsistent because the s relaunch will whiff sometimes. you can do instant dash s to fix that, but you have to hit j.c as late as possible before landing. definitely practical in the corner imo

the easier unfly combo i’ve been tinkering with is s > delayed super jump > j.b > j.b > j.c xx fly, j.a > j.b > j.c xx unfly, j.b > dj.c, j.d etc. delaying the super jump and then doing j.b at the apex seems to make the b stomps more consistent. against joe do fly, j.a, j.c xx unfly, j.b xx dj.b > j.c > j.d instead.

anti-airing with s really throws off the above combos. for the latter combo, i’d recommend immediately sj’ing and going for j.b > j.c or just j.c if the horizontal distance between you and your opp is small. also, i dunno how these fare against smalls. still, there is HUGE room for optimization beyond s b c s

Sents got some combo problems on the small chars, I can’t really do anything fancy, generally just go for j.H j.S after launch, not nearly enough damage, any small char BnB’s out there?

anyone else feel a little bad sometimes for picking sentinel?
lots of people have had bad experiences with this mechanized monstrosity
and to some people i look like a jerk because i always use sentinel(like that makes me any less of a player)

can get a little annoying after awhile

i remember feeling the same way in MVC2 toward sentinel players
and now the tables have turned

Most of us old mother fuckers have been around the community for years. I’ve grown accustomed to bitching, whining, and all the hoopla. After a while guys like me start getting the :coffee: feeling so to answer your question no I don’t feel guilty or bad. It’s a game. Some people have fun with picking characters they like, some have fun with trying to win. Lucky for me I will like Sent even if he sucked, but he turned out to be good. Double bonus! :tup:

okay I have some questions that has been really killing me. off a s launcher while they are in the air what is with m, m , s, hitting on some characters or m,m,h, s hitting and then on some small characters I am barely getting m,s. What is going on? It’s like his combo ability changes against characters. Also flight combos how are you guys adpating it to work versus smaller characters?

yea i know what you mean. yesterday i watched the vesper arcade video and the guy with c. medium and a1 at the same time so i tried that and it worked about 10% of the time

A, B, S, jm, jh, jh, js, rocket punch, sentinel force super, sentinel plasma super, morrigan’s lvl 3 super.

Instant ko, no XFC and takes 5 bars. for the supers to land back to back you gotta time it so as soon as the screen loses its back ground from the sentinel force then you add the plasma and it connects without dropping combo

Command grab (heavy) xx :s:, sj, :m:, :h:, fly, :l:, :m:, :h:, :s:… (In corner) Builds one meter.

Cant seem to get anything else working on small characters. I’ll post some stuff if I find anything.

I haven’t seen this work outside the corner, I’ll give it a look.

Practical mid screen fly combo, 600k damage. Puts enemy in the corner.

I didn’t know this worked mid screen but… I guess it does :lol:

Sentinel gets announced: 9 out of 10 people say “OMG I hate that dumb robot! Such a dumb character choice!”

After launch: 9 out of 10 teams use Sentinel

When people want to win, they will jump on the broken-character bandwagon.

I don’t see anything wrong with that. I mean… shouldn’t you pick a character for their strengths? We aren’t samurais fighting for honor; we are gamers playing to win. It’s only natural for people to migrate to strength.

Only problem is people that want lazy wins. It’s not a problem for me, it’s just they won’t get far.

Of coarse I’m gonna defend Sentinel. I prayed for him to be in (literally :lol:)
