Big difference, and you know it. XD
Just to note,
when you come down im all for playing you in Brawl (not melee since i dont think i can go back to it) with whatever rules you want. Im an advocate of letting the tournament organizer use whatever ruleset, as long as they back them up and not just enforce them blindly (which i wholeheartedly think Dugfinn is), but Ill play the game however which way (items, no items, etc).
Oh, and it doesnt have to be a money match lol
I’m not spending $40 to enter the convention and then helping my dirt-poor sister and her husband get in in order for me to not be bored out of my mind and not be a jerk and ditch them when I can’t enter a real Brawl tournament. The only reason I’d spend that much to get in would be to win the Brawl events.
I’d like to play Brawl with anyone, but it’s too expensive without real rules making it worth it. Sorry.
at this point marvel needs something new besides colors to keep it going
…That has nothing to do with the balance issues items would cause.
Marvel is just an ancient game.
I may just attend this anyways and pick Jigglypuff and camp under stages until the timer runs out, or I’ll use Sonic and never get hit at large stages. I’ll also use characters with the best final smashes and be a faggot.
Then you’ll see I’m right.
We have been dealing with STORM SENT MAG fucking NETO & Cable for how many years now? Play to win do everything you need to do, you go to tournaments to win not for fun.
A lot, but those are characters.
Smash players can choose to remove stuff like items that causes balance issues. I’m sure if you could choose to alter those characters to make them less broken, you would.
OMG, your awesome!!
So your winning local tournaments on a game that hasen’t even hit America yet? LET ME TOUCH YOU WITH MY WHITE MAGIC!!!
So what, I’ve been winning every Brawl tournament I goto.
Am I awesome too? =)
BTW, you can’t beat me in Brawl.
Kind of like how in Street Fighter 2: Champion Edition, the stun meter is random?
Kind of like how in Guilty Gear, the hit box properties would change depending on the type of throw they have, making it possible to do cross ups in the corner?
Kind of like how in Tekken 6 when your about to die and you win die to Rage?
Knd of like the items in samurai showdown?
Now, I’m glad you brought up guilty gear.
Can you imagine Slayer doing an air throw in the corner then does a Danny Step cross up and beats you? And the only reason he was able to cross up was because there is a good 50% chance that after an air throw you can still be crossed up even tho your in the corner. OMG, yeah its random but none cry about it and it does cost you the match, and its not exactly rare either.
I seriously doubt your friend knows anything about fighting games.
Sure, but I’m at work right now, lulz.
Gimmie some time.
ZOMG I am a furry!
Why must I be a monkey!!! T_T
I think that takes me back to the line I said:
We don’t whine about it, we find ways around it.
Sounds like your coming up with tears on all that whining, need a tissue?
That can always change…
If items where in Marvel or GG, I wouldn’t mind… hell I don’t think anyone else would.
I mean, GG is random enough as it is with its silly programming, adding items wouldn’t really effect much lol.
If you did this I would most likely applaud you for being smart.
Inui,
Though I can respect you trying to impose the rules the smash community feels is right for the game at this moment, you’re not going to change anything so I’d quit complaining about it. You’re dealing with a community with a different mindset than the smash community. Here if you run away from your opponent(turtle), it’s not considered cheating because it’s up to the other player to overcome your strategy. I know the smash community sees the extremes of this strategy as cheating or being “cheap”. The SF community has adopted the mentality of “If it’s in the game, it’s not broken”. Plain and simple. We don’t try to control the gameplay and make things “fair” by banning certain things and allowing only certain stages to be played. Hearing you argue with people from this community is like watching two people of different religions argue over who’s religion is right. No one is really “right”, it’s just a preference. You’re going to have to accept the fact that the director of this tournament obviously has a different mindset than that of the traditional smash player like yourself. Also, have you ever been to a tournament with these rules? I’d give it a chance before I knocked it.
just my .02
WRONG
Most console games come with feature that add certain elements to balance the game or make it easier to play. We refuse to use such feature and try to keep the game true to the Arcade as possible… so…
Yeah, I’m starting to think you don’t know anything about fighting games in general.
Do you even know who Wes is, or the crew Deadly Alliance in general? We almost beat DireVulcan’s team, too.
You must have no idea if you think that such a victory, as well as close matches with the other two DA teams, means nothing.
In Smash, we have a choice to reduce the imbalance by having all items off. It is foolish to not take that choice regardless of anything else other fighters have that you can’t change.
Why can’t you see this?
Whatever you say. He got 5th at NEC in SC3, so he must be bad. Hmm.
There is no way around a Landmaster on Final Destination.
There is no way around Jigglypuff camping under a stage.
Etc.
Why would you choose to have random gayness interfering with the skill?
Never going to happen, thankfully. We’re actually good at the games.
You don’t understand. You completely missed every point I’ve made.
-
Camping: In Smash, the stages are gigantic. Even the smallest stage is larger than the stages for a standard fighter. You have more mobility by a lot. Speed differences are more apparent. Your mindset when it comes to camping/turtling is not applicable to Smash because of how different is it.
-
Items: They appear randomly at random places, giving the person closest to them an advantage for no reason. Items like Smashballs automatically give the luckier player a stock advantage for no good reason. This is horrible. You can remove this and make the game take actual skill, so do it.
I’ve entered a tournament with items on, and it was at an anime convention too. Worst tournament for anything I’ve ever seen in my life.
You guys shouldn’t dabble in Smash if you can’t fathom the basic logic I have presented.
I don’t care, your the one not ready to play against me son.
Did you not just not see my last post?
Damn, you blind?
WHO GIVES A SHIT ABOUT SOUL CALIBER!! lol!!
Yeah he sucks.
Can’t find a way around it, deal with it.
Seriously, you can avoid those things.
If Jigs camps under a stage, guess what you do… heh.
Like what games?
You suck a Brawl, and I’m sure you suck at any other games you touch.
C’mon, show up to this and I’ll MM any game except Melee.
Challenge at Guilty Gear, 3S, Super DBZ, Fist of the North Star, Tekken, Melty Blood, Street Fighter Turbo, and the list goes on.
What you gonna do?
Given your lack of knowledge about Smash and the people that play the games, you’d certainly be no match for me. However, unlike you, I’m not going to make such a judgement as if I’m certainly correct based on nothing. If anything, me showing a vastly superior amount of knowledge with regards to Smash should make you be the one worried about losing.
Who cares? If you guys want games to be broken, that’s your problem.
Items are nearly 100% luck-based, and Smashballs are uncounterable. That’s worse than anything else in any other game.
What an excellent and educated opinion.
I’ll be sure to take you seriously in the future.
By “deal with it,” you must mean “lose based 100% on luck and nothing else in an actual tournament,” in which case I must say you’re horrible at Brawl if you think that’s cool.
No, you can’t do anything about Jigglypuff camping under stages. Jigglymaster recently defeated a top player named Eggm over here in a match by camping under Mute City forever in Melee. It’s that broken.
By “games” I meant the Smash series. Hence “the” was used and I was discussing Smash so I assumed you would assume such, but you apparently did not.
I suck at Brawl based on what? I’ve demonstrated a large amount of knowledge about Smash superior to your own, I can take top 8 at EVOs in Smash, and I beat/almost beat teams with Smash professionals on them. I’m also ranked and all that other good stuff.
You, sir, are just talking shit for no reason.
I never said I agreed or disagreed with you, I wasn’t attacking your arguments. Work on your reading comprehension. All I said is that you arguing with people from this community is absolutely pointless because your different perceptions of “cheap”.
You blatantly said you agree that “gameplay shouldn’t be controlled” and that “if it’s in a game, it’s not broken” and other such things.
Why anyone would want the game to become heavily luck-based is beyond me. Stop insulting the game I take seriously as a competitive game.
lol, shut up.
What knowledge?
“Hey, let me make up my own rules for a game thats 3 weeks old and call myself awesome at games.”
Dude shut up.
OMG STOP MISSING THE POINT.
Seriously, how stupid can you be?!
We don’t whine about it, we find ways around it.
No seriously, none care about SC3.
How would you say I’m awful at the game when I found ways around tricks you can’t figure out?
Yeah… stop crying…
You suck as smash games in general too, so whats your point?
'cause you don’t shit!!! lol ;o
I know who Wes is, and you don’t.
I know how to make the game fair, you don’t.
The rules I posted are not even my own rules. They’re generally accepted rules of the Smash community already.
Please tell me how to get around a Landmaster on FD.
Please tell me how to get around Jigglypuff camping you under Mute City, because not even the likes of Mew2King can figure that one out, and he’s the best player in the world.
If you can explain, in detail, how to work around such things, then perhaps your arguement can have some weight. As of now, you’ve given no methods of working around it, while I’ve explained how it’s broken.
And yet I can take top 8 at an EVO and used to be ranked very high in my area? What stupendous logic you’re displaying.
Stop pretending to be some good and awesome Smash player when you’re a nobody in our community.
Hey, shut up already.
You coming to this tournament or not?
If so, put your money were your mouth is and play for that shit.
If not, GTFO!!!
I see. You’ve been proven wrong, and that’s all you have to say.
It’s unlikely that I will attend this tournament if people like you are there on top of absolutely horrendous and ignorant rules being used for my main game.
I think we have ourselves a name dropper.
Serioursly guy, that wont make these guys respect you any more.
