I wished they did make a new CFE personally, but it seems to me if the made a CFE2 a large bunch of nostalgics will still hate the game. Or say the new sprites/features/etc… don’t “feel” like the characters.
For instance, when you really look at CVS2 thoroughly, you can plainly see that Capcom did their best to make the core gameplay really solid.
They offered nice modes for console that upped the replayabilty just a notch and a color scheme option. They made the game fairly balanced (a good 30+ characters are decent enough to play) and with the amount of special movements available I could see that the “turtlefest” of the more recent part of the CVS2 era was just simply a byproduct of a melting pot of effective tactics.
But it seems that CVS2 is one of the most hated games here, everyone has some minor or personal problem that seems to make the game look like a cinematic equivalent of “The Medallion.”
I’m not saying the game is perfect or that you should ignore the problems it might have but it seems the most competitive part of fighting games nowadays is more about who can bitch the best about which fighter sucks the most, instead of who can give it their best to make the game(s) more of competitive and overall gratifying experience.
but how would the red earth characters play then. i know the red characters suck except for kenji, i would like to see a new cfe with more characters, please i need to see cody’s v ism shit in that game.
They do play like you remember. Just without the BS CC’s and Chun’s highly retarded priority. Hence it’s a more competitive game. SBO I think had most of the characters qualify for example.
^to TGC/Hcparker
true; the CFE chars dont play like their coounterparts meaning the whole premise of the game has no integrity , but i kind of expected that and for some reason i still like CFE
so gimme the sequerl
But all those games mentioned were actually tried on and put alot of effort into, as like drawing new sprites. As for CFJ, they just literally took back all the shit they made and put it together as if they didn’t even try, and no Ingrid didn’t help either.
So hell I’d really want to see a CFE2, I’d like to play any new fighters Capcom puts out; so hopefully if they make CFE2 it’d blow the first one out of the water and will last for a good while just like all the other fighters they made.
**of course but this time put some love into. i have no doubt that if they put some really effort into the title and not just slapped it together it would be a great game.
also i like to use the case of cvs1 to cvs2. the improvements between the to where great so if the same was done with this title it would be awesome!
OH AND I WANT THE ST2 CHARACTERS TO USE THE ORIGINAL SPRITES THAT WOULD BE CRAZY!
Either way, I would like a cvs2 type game over a CFE type game. CVS2 has way more variety, because grooves allow people to do different things. Now you gotta learn to say…fight against a K-cammy, and a C-cammy. In CFE, you would just fight …Cammy. (I know she’s not in the game, i’m just using an example)
This is what Fighting game is about, mixups, guessing games, but with one play type only, you’re only limited to so much. Don’t get me wrong, there’s still alot of mixups and mindgames, but with cvs2, there’s just way more variety.
But I think the general opinion of everyone is that if they put forth effort we would like to see this sequel. Otherwise no. It seems that almost everyone has posted something based on this opinion.
Some people didnt like CFJ because there wasnt one flaw or glitch or something in the game that they could cheese with. Ie RC, AHVB, even going back to handcuf glitch, etcetc. Not saying everyone is just some people. It doesnt have anything inherently “broken” about it.
It has good balance and you can play the game pretty much how you see fit. Its not great but its not bad either, its just solid. Yeah I would like to see a Sequal to it but of course they would need to add some characters to it. It wouldnt surprise me if they mixed in another game tierh like RS. Just what the Jailbaiters want a team of Sak/Hinata.
Even though the graphics suck horribly, I like CFJ simply for its roster. With the exception of Nool and Hauzer, it has all the character variety that should’ve been in CvS2. I couldn’t appreciate having a mostly-SF2 cast representing Capcom.
If they added more games into the mix like Star Gladiator and Rival Schools, loaded it up with a bunch of characters and then figured out a way to integrate their game systems well, then I wouldn’t mind CFJ2. But they’d seriously need to make changes to the old ones. The Alpha characters are limited without Lv.3s, so they should just leave out CCs completely for once and use A-Ism, plus the Warzard system doesn’t offer enough benefits, and the SF3 meter builds too slowly. And lastly, they got to change the team format to 3-on-3 or 1-on-1.
Heh heh, I once faced a guy online in CFE who set the game up for five round matches. He would pick Mukuro(Kenji) and another partner. No matter what partner he chose he would use Mukuro for every single round and I’m talking minimum 3 rounds straight! Man, good player, but those were some boring matches. I’m against 1-on-1, the option for two players and deciding the order before the match and during makes it fun and is part of the thinking game, “Which character will the player pick next?” And by now, 1-on-1 has been done to death in the regular fighters that aren’t crossovers. I mean, they can still have 1-on-1 as an option. 3-on-3 would be cool too, make it more of a thinking game, but it might make it a little crazy. Now if you have three characters, set the match for five rounds and use the same character every single time you got some issues…
EDIT: Since the CFE Forum is down there’s an online CFE Tourney this Saturday at 8:00 PM CT. I should be able to make it. I’m assuming you just have to be logged into the chatroom to participate.
CFJ2 would be cool. CFJ/E wasn’t a bad game it just lacked that something which would have made it special. But like it’s been said, Capcom seem to do better the second time around.
As many have said,if they actually put effort into it and not make it a copy & paste job, then mabe I will consider the sequel;Otherwise no.
Also they should set some grooves,or atleast allow the user to pick a different version of the character (Kinda like the Darkstalkers Psp game or is that a bad example?) like Sf2 Ryu,Alpha Ryu,3 Ryu,etc. They could also switch from Cvs Gameplay to MvC style gameplay even though this may be unnecesary, and some new characters from the non 2d fighting games or non fighting game at all would be great. Although is just a personal opinion,I think that the “choose character after round ends” feature should be removed,I dislike having a team of characters I think would be a good duo and be stuck with only using one character for the rest of the match.
I actually agree with tthe 2nd time is a charm post. MVC2>MVC1, CVS2>CVS1, etc etc. So I assume that IF they make a 2nd one, it’ll be alot better than the first. Until then, I’m going to play 3rd strike
