Why not instead make a dreammatch that’s sure to be good? SF1+2+3+Final Fight+Alpha(sans Alpha Bison). Draw new sprites of SF1 characters that weren’t in A3 or CvS2 in CvS2. Add Haggar, Guy, Cody, Maki, Hugo, Rolento, Sodom and Dean. Call it “Street Fighter: Revelations” and it’ll sell.
“You’re pretty fucking stupid.”
So you’re still stalking me? How about you spoke your mind here without badrepping me. You can pm me if you like, but cut out with the idiocy.
CFJ has done well for what it was, a bargin basement, cheaply made, cut and paste fighter. Comparatively speaking of course. I think one of Capcom’s designers admitted that the game’s success had them thinking about a sequel already.
Acer, I’ve found it to be fairly balanced. Even the top tier can be counter charactered.
unexpectedly i found the fixed grove thing added to the charm of the matchups
the backgrounds are are so ugly its funny (i thik someone pointed out even SFII-WW had paralax going on)
but I like the game and would def buy a sequel (if I had the console already).
edit: i think one of the main reasons i like it is the Warzard chars, because their new to me
-why doesnt capcom just port that shit, they will save on developement, testing, etc
-just make the bosses playable instead of only 4 main chars -maybe tweak/beta test the boss char.s so theyre not broken-if possible (i dont know much about the damn game)
Warzard was a CPS3 game, so it’s a bit harder to directly port. It was also their try at an arcade game where you could store you character via password and level them up by playing.
Nooo
I don’t know, I didn’t completely hate CFE and I still don’t but I definately pulled it out of my PS2 in favor of 3S not too long after release. I think it was partially cause none of my friends really got into it either.
A lot of things bothered me, especially that Alpha characters didn’t have normal supers in addition to CCs. That would probably really unbalance them but I liked using Rose in A3 but not in V-ISM. And it wasn’t even alpha style customs, it was closer to CvS2 style.
Secondly SF2 characters had some definately none SF2 abilities that escape me for now since I haven’t played it for months. I guess they had to make these adjustments to balance the game or whatever but the first time I played it I was severely dissapointed that it wasn’t even exactly what it was billing itself as.
I think CFE2 could be good, I think CFE was more of an experiment that worked modestly. Hopefully Capcom has learned from it and can make a superior sequal should they choose to. Frankly I’d like them to scrap the different character groupings and come up with an engine just for CFE, I know it’s supposed to feel like like all of these classic games but it didn’t and I don’t think they can truely do it that way correctly, so scrap it and give us classic characters but in NEW context. Touch up some sprites and bring in some Rival Schools characters, maybe some Cybots  and we’re all set.
Oh yeah and let’s get with the 2d Plasma Sword characters and some freaking 2d love for Skull O Mania.
i’d be interested if it had a selcectable groove system, a larger cast and maybe a ratio system like cvs. now, i could live without the ratio, but i thnk a broad cast with a selectable groove instead of pre-selected grooves would be a good idea. also, update the fucking sprites…but, it won’t happen, so i say no, don’t even bother making another game…
A-Groove was a ‘better’ version of the customs in my opinion. They didn’t charge real fast, had to work to land and the damage didn’t outdo Supers.
IIRC the ST characters had very generalized abilities, they charged meter fast, other characters couldn’t air block their attacks and they inflicted fairly strong damage.
i think they should make a new cfj. i liked the first one alex fighting jedah and gief is cool.
CvS 1 sucked and then look what happened after that
cfj 2 might end up being a classic
to be fair, when i read your first post something about it made me want to doc you points too
I thought this thread was about CFE, iunno wtf is goin on here
Like what? And why touch points instead of telling me what’s “bullshit” about it? As far as I know forums are meant for discussion and not rating someone’s opinion…
Now if I would be behaving badly or anything I can understand getting neg repped, but instead, on disagree I get point reduction and when a premium member agrees I get no point increment, seriously, it’s lame.
I’d like to see CFE2 if they did away with the boring CvS2 engine.
If they could make a balanced, cfe game where all the chcracters looked like they belonged in the same game, and backgrounds that didn’t make me wanna vomit using the MvC2 engine, I’d be all over that shit. Just because they lost their marvel license doesn’t mean they need to scrap their most unique fighting engine.
Also, it wouldn’t hurt to bring in some chars from non-fighting games like Dante, Samanosuke, Leon Kennedy, etc.
…seriously.
cfe2: roster consisting entirely of mvc1 helpers
The thing about CFE is…they didn’t play like their counterparts. Sakura’s main game is her offence, but when it does the kick after the hurricane kick automactically, it cuts her down. Urien is known for his unblockable, chun for her fierces and stuff.
That was their goal, to have them played “like you remember them” That was what i was looking forward to, but nothing was the same.
I’d honestly rather just have a game like cvs2, with grooves and such.
blegh, the engine is a capcom engine, the gameplay might be marvel(but I doubt that too:P). When was MvsC2 released anyways?
I’d like to see a CFE2. I guess I’m in the minority, but I thought that the first was fun despite some of the annoying things in it. And if they just clean up some of the crap, give everyone all of their moves back, and add some more characters, CFE2 could be awesome.
…Voted, uh, YAY!..
they should touch up the sprites a little bit and itll be good to go
