Yeah I didn’t read all that
That doesn’t say anything about any reveals coming from TGS.
I kinda got this self-hypnosis thing where I can’t perceive Affinity’s Posts anymore.
I skip reading his post all together and go straight to clicking Retk.

perhaps SMT HD graphics could look like that

The scenario is being done by Makoto Fukami. Character design is being handled by Tatsuro Iwamoto. The protagonist, whose gender can be chosen by the player, has the ability to summon demons through their smartphone using the Devil Downloader (Dx2) application. Players will become members of the Liberators, a secret organization that protects the world, and get caught up in a conflict between Dx2 users. The Liberators hideout is a shared house in Akihabara. It is complete with facilities for demon fusion and strengthening, an item shop, and so on. There are Aura Gates in which players will explore 3D dungeons, and challenge how far in they can go. Demons are represented in high-quality 3D graphics. The series traditional demon negotiation and skill inheriting will return, and growth elements original to this game are being added. Players battle commanding four demons, and the protagonist himself/herself never fights. Combat uses the series familiar Press Turn battle system. If you hit the enemy weakness, the number of actions you can use will increase. But if you hit their resistance, the number of actions you can use will decrease. Standing poses of characters in dialogue scenes are animated and fully voiced.

New PC game that just came recently. This game is pretty fun, and it’s free!
trailer
SMT V should be for male gamers AND female gamers. Option to play as female protagonist is essential and needed. If Atlus expects to profit more, and convince more to buy a Switch: include option to play as female protagonist for the entire game.
It’s 2017, SMT V will probably be a 2019 or 2020 game. Shin Megami Tensei series should no longer be presented as a series for only male gamers. Considering how much Atlus is parading SMT NINE and SMT if… alongside I, II, III, Strange Journey, IV, and IV:F, the least they could do is learn from if… and NINE, and design SMT V’s story and game design so it’s compatible with female lead protagonist.
Whether it lets players make the male protagonist a female protagonist instead, or the female partner can be chosen as the survivor/resurrected that becomes the lead protagonist the player plays as, Atlus should finally make it standard for mainline SMT games featuring option to play as female protagonist for the entire game.
Pokemon has more fans and sales including option to play as a female character since Crystal (2001)
Fire Emblem became mainstream with Awakening and Fates, which allow the player to play as a female protagonist, which got a lot more female players interested in it.
Xenoblade X has female protagonist option (even the freedom to play as any party member)
and unlike Persona, Shin Megami Tensei doesn’t have the workload of trying to piece together social links, school life sim, long winded conversations, nor deep relationship threads. And like Fallout 3, SMT’s silent protagonists are totally open to all sorts of identity possibilities, they just gotta make the story adaptable to both genders like SMT if… and SMT NINE did.
Enough is enough with the exclusively male glorification power fantasy pandering. Playable female leads can be awesome too and make the game extra marketable, and SMT V can provide both options. It can also double it’s replay value for those that like both genders.
If Atlus refuses to respect girl gamers and are too sexist to make the story + game customizable and adaptable for female lead protagonist preference, besides male protagonist lead preference, then most of us that feel the way I do, are just going to play games like Pokemon instead.
Even if we get Switch, it wouldn’t be for SMT V, if it doesn’t have female protagonist!!! Atlus/SMTV sure wouldn’t wanna lose customers, would they?
It’s to Atlus’s benefit not leaving us out of the demographics for SMT V. Yes, there are some of us that will play it anyways, but those of us that have integrity and pride as women that are disgusted by the oversaturation of male glorifcation in the industry, will not tolerate the inconsiderate inferior roles that female characters get in modern SMT games.
Raise your protagonist options standards, Atlus. Games as old as SMT if… and NINE have protagonist gender options. It’s bad enough you abandoned female protagonist option in Persona 5.
When the hell will player be able to be a female protagonist in modern mainline Shin Megami Tensei games?Budget is really no excuse. It all comes down to design and priorities, and even mobile games like Dx2 SMT Liberation are gonna have option to play as female protagonist, which would make SMT V developers sexist scumbag misogynists if SMTV doesn’t also feature option to play as female protagonist instead.
Exclusively pandering to shounen and seinen isn’t going to optimize SMTV’s sales and respect, including from girl gamers in particular. With only male protagonist, it would only be generally seen as a boys only game, and that is degenerate wastefulness for games that could just as easily be for both genders.
Even Morrowind makes the SMT series up to this point look like it’s still in the stone age in terms of gender equality, among other things. What, are they gonna wait until a “Persona 3 Portable” edition to include female protagonist in SMT V and P5?
I swear after Atlus’s response to P5 lacking female protagonist, if SMT V doesn’t have option to play as female protagonist and they make lame excuses like they did with P5 (which was a blank slate project that could have gone in any direction and be designed to be compatible with female protagonist), if all SMT V is to them is more sausage stroking, then SMT V is not worth buying a Switch for.
Xenoblade Chronicles X was worth buying a Wii U for, but SMTV has to be more than simply the male power fantasy side of things!!! Option to play as female protagonist for the entire game, would make SMT V much more appealing and something of value to more people. That is a fact.
And if Atlus doesn’t want our money, then they betray themselves as a business, and a smart business would not ignore the players that prefer female protagonist at all. And over 30% of gamers are women and play RPGs.
and Atlus is not wealthy like Activision, Game Freak, Zenimax. A company exists to make as much money as it can, and denying the option to play as female protagonist, contradicts the objective of making more money, and they can’t optimize profits catering to just male demographics, the female demographic matters to. And these expensive mainline games would make more profit if they include the option to play as female protagonist.
They and the uncaring side of the fanbase will not hear the end of this subject so long as they continue to be one sided and closed minded with their sexist protagonist ideals.
It may be jumping the gun when we don’t know all the details relating to the protagonist and what protagonists options there are, if any at all, but given the history of every SMT before if… and SMTs after NINE not including female protagonist, they have yet to see the light and make female protagonist a standard playable option to have for every new game they create.
We held hopes with Persona 5 years before protagonist limits were confirmed, and they betrayed those hopes, so just as people felt it was safe to assume SMT V is going to be Switch exclusive, it’s safe, yet sad to assume they might still have not learned, and still don’t care to glorify females as much as they do with the opposite sex, based on their priority choice in protagonist all these generations, and the majority of SMT/Persona games lacking female protagonist.
It would be win/win with both options. lose/win without it. Show us that you really care, Atlus. Or we won’t care about your products.
That is so true. It’s about time Atlus get with the times. Bethesda, Game Freak and From Software are still superior developers. Well they have yet to detail what sort of protagonists formula they have in SMTV, so would wait for Famitsu info and whatever info that confirms if it’s more like SMT1, more like Dew Prism or Seiken Densetsu 3, or more like NINE with protagonist gender and appearance choices.
SMT V HYPE!
SMT V causing a Bayo 2 type situation. So many port beggers and anger over Switch getting this as an exclusive.
Only on switch? Meh. Another atlus game I don’t gotta touch.
Not like it’s Persona or anything.
original reveal during the livestream, Atlus should of used that instead of just the SMTV part of the trailer,
it adds more epic buildup to the reveal, and more 25th Anniversary style

Nintendo has been getting SMT exclusive games for a while now
Pretty much Nintendo is getting them all except for the persona games
Microsoft over here starving and crying
I just wish they were all on PC
If they re-release Tokyo Mirage on the switch then ill buy it, but im not getting the switch JUST for SMT V
Their official word of why it’s Switch exclusive would piss me off if I beleived a word of it.
Nah Nintendo either funded it or payed for the rights and that just happens sometimes. better a console I have an interest in than one I would never actually want.
I doubt Nintendo paid for it. Like Jack said, most SMT games expect for Persona has been on Nintendo consoles.

Because Nintendo was pretty much the genesis for everything. Once more consoles came out they showed no problem putting out SMT3 on the PS2 along with all the other spin offs.
that’s like saying Ninja Gaiden is a Nintendo franchise
P5 and ps4 da bess fuck the rest
Haha
Persona 3 Portable is still the greatest and ultimate Atlus game ever created,
worth getting PSP for (and I hate portables, so that says a lot),
and bought both physical and digital versions. that and P2EP on PS3 are the Persona games I own.

if Persona 5 next rpg edition adds female protagonist version of the story, I would play it.
P5 in its current state is worthless.
the current known P5 patents
Persona 5 Arena? Hey, we’re down
P5D, P5U, P5AG, P5R
P5D could be the dancing game.
P5U could be the fighting game, unless it’s P5AG, therefore,
P5U could be that talked about ultimate edition that has all the DLC
(not sure what’s ultimate about that when they are obviously gonna make a more definitive edition later).
P5R could be the next remade/expanded edition of P5.
there was also rumor of P5C (Crimson?)
