I really don’t see what people like so much about makoto. As far as being clueless with social norms I felt Futaba did that so much better and was just all around more interesting. had a much better boss fight and Dungeon too that in my opinion actually beat the first arc.
Absolute favorite female character even if she’s not very useful in a fight or waifu material.
My boy Mishima isn’t the worst, was hoping for better but I expected worse. Middle of the pack is good I guess. Though I have no idea how Torah beat him maybe it’s a Japanese thing that resonates strongly with them because I really wasn’t interested at all with him.
i fall under the camp of she’s more like your little sister than a romantic interest. especially when you consider Sojiro’s wishes and her emotionaly stunted state.
though SMT HD should not be SMT Nocturne remake. Atlus should just port PS2 Nocturne to PS4 like they did on PS3, and make SMT HD Project the official Shin Megami Tensei V, something new to look forward to instead of remakes/remasters.
In other news, SMT DSJ/SJR has a new gameplay trailer, looks greatly improved over how IV and IV:A presented combat
as much as i like the game im unsure why it gets so much praise. while yes i would certainly call it unique im not a particular fan of the super flat colors of mostly abandoned buildings. thats the thing i don’t understand about what a Nocturne remake would be, the game is already pretty clear because of how simple the designs are but at the same time adding more detail doesn’t feel like its the Nocturne style.
i wouldn’t exactly complain demifeind is one of my all time favorite designs and i would love to see an updated model of him but i don’t think it would improve Nocturne overall that much.
no remakes. make SMT V first. SMT 1, II and III are better being ports on PS4, with I and II having their updated versions they made for mobile. making a remake of any previous SMT for the HD Project would be a waste of resources and lack of creativity. well if they remake SMT I with a P3P style (female protagonist option) with some npc/character differences (like replace Lilith with some male demon, and the heroine with some male partner for the female protagonist) that would be interesting, but if it’s same 'ol Hero/Kazuya story, then that’s just running in circles and the sense of exploration, newness, discovery and surprises would not be there compared to a brand new SMT.
besides, SMT HD Project already has clues it’s not a remake and can be in fact SMT V
SMT Deep Strange Journey already represents the remaster/remake side of the 30th Anniversary celebration. HD Project can represent the “new SMT” side of the anniversary overall.
The anniversary logo has a “NEXT” in the top open space, with the other spaces between the star points filled in with the mainline numbered games in the series, I, II, III and IV. also the star is upside down, having a “V” look to its lowest point.
Persona 5’s success is largely contributed to being the next numbered title, and new story, instead of a remake of a previous Persona game (brand new title/number is hyped more than an older title) newcomers interested in P5 still enjoyed and understood it. if it was just a high graphics P1, P2, P3 or P4 remake, its reception would be lower because those stories are said and done. So SMT doesn’t need to introduce a previous SMT to current gen players, they can do that with SMT V, something new for veterans, and something that has no archived spoilers that newcomers can read front and back before playing it. (even Atlus was notorious with trying to block P5 streams to avoid spoilers spreading).
they are going big with SMT HD Project, so it has to be something brand new. Even its tentative title has “Brand New Title” on it, so it isn’t a remake/remaster. even IV Apocalypse was a brand new story, characters and conclusions instead of just a retelling of SMTIV. even though the setting was the same, its entirely different perspective and a new path of circumstances
the new footage beyond the teaser trailer, showed a scene that can’t be related to any event in previous SMTs. Also, Odin uses his IV:Apocalypse appearance. IV:A timeline [details=Spoiler]branches away from the vanilla IV timeline[/details], so SMT V would follow the vanilla IV timeline, meaning [details=Spoiler]SMT IV era Odin is still alive and could take action in the SMT V generation after civilization is rebuilt and the new apocalypse begins[/details]
SMT V could be designed to be similiar to SMT 1, in that it starts as a normal contemporary setting, and then the apocalypse happens after some events, though SMT V would be its own thing, just like SMT III and SMT NINE are their own thing, all starting in Tokyo and circumstances being different.
SMT DSJ’s Alex and new story route, might foreshadow some things and might be related to SMT V, or certain things from DSJ might carry over to HD Project (just as Maria from SMT:NINE, is adapted to DSJ’s new story route, as well as brand new demons like DSJ’s Anahita, could be included to HD Project as well)
that, coupled with the fact the game is labeled HD Project, unlike DSJ which is labeled 3DS project, it may be multiplatform between PS4 and Switch, having UE4 engine, so with such ambition for the HD Project, they have the means to create a SMT V, and would generate more hype and interest as a new numbered mainline game, than a SMT remake.
oh and I thought you guys knew everything going on in the industry, and I’m not a shill! you people shill pokemon and DC comics with every post you make.
of course I’m hot, I lost count all the ones trying to start a relationship with me that I turned down since grade school. there’s no one good enough for me, and everyone I met is selfish, a dumbass, a jackass, ugly, a liar, hateable relatives/friends, and/or so damned flawed. And I’m not really into SMT, I disagree with a lot of things Atlus has done, I do praise some aspects of the MegaTen games, but Atlus is only partially doing things right. so much generations, and so much potential wasted. and it’s laughable considering even cheap hardware game developers like Pokemon’s harnessed more of the series potential than Atlus does for its own games, even without competitive graphics, nor needing a deep narrative.
I only observe Atlus to see what SMT HD might turn out to be, and what are the next Persona rpgs are gonna offer, but they sure aren’t a developer worth holding one’s breath.
