I saw your vid and it was awesome. and ya, I’ve found that trying to go in has gotten me blown up more often than not. I was watching some videos and people would just stay back use bombs from the air and unibeam to zone people and repulsar to keep them out when they got close.

One thing I’ve done and seemed to work was spamming (smartly of course) Repulsar when you’ve got the opponent covered. It lasts long enough for assits to come, so their thing, and leave most of the time allowing me to get another repulsar off and then calling in my other assit. It seems to lock people down pretty good but I haven’t done it all that much and have no clue if I am fighting good players or not.

For those not ignoring me I’m about to post a vid utilizing danke hit confirm and taking it a bit further. Even though I already knew about the SJ. H hit confirm I give credit to Danke for putting out there for the community. Hope you guys enjoy it.

As for using the airdash to the start the confirm, I find it far superior to flying because you are safer and have the option to keep them in blockstun, go for a throw, etc. air dashing into a confrontation with ironman in the air is suicide anyway so you should always have one available when you go for these things.

A2G(Air-to-Ground) would be the next thing. It one of those things that make Storm/Magneto high tier and IronMan’s J.H has wider hitbox than Storms.

That is a really good point. I’ll start looking into A2G combos as well. Not sure I would have thought of that so thanks for the heads up.

This is where team synergy come into play. While it’s always good to zone with Ironman, in cases where you don’t have the life lead you simply can’t afford that. So you have to get in. Zoning only works if you have the life lead. If you have you an assist like Drones. You find a 2 hit block string to pin down, dash back, let drone to their thing, and then go in for the mixup. You can even flight mode and chase drones that way you fly smart bomb and call another assist. Ironman is very similar to Storm/Magneto

I disagree wholeheartedly, it is quite possible to zone while down in life because you have chipping tools. If you play Iron man in any way slightly similar to storm or magneto you are going to lose.

So far with my experience I agree. I mainly play him as a zoner. I will try to go in if I can, but this is usually where I’ll lose control and momentum of the match. Thinking I can get in real quick and land a few hits to start a combo.

repulsar lockdown with assits has been working decently well and the range is pretty good too So i’ve been sticking with that and trying to develop it into something more comprehensive.

I disagree because there are too many characters that can out-zone IronMan. You can do a regular jump over his unibeam. Repulsar blast isn’t completely safe after the EMP discharge. I’m not saying just rush in like a complete idiot. I’m saying find an assist that would pin down a character (I.E. Eye of Agamotto). You then can attempt a mix-up. I repeat do just rush in blindly. Go in with some cover. If you Tri-jump Irom with the j.m coming down it crosses up. Don’t believe head into training mode and try it with the eye of agamotto. But I have another video with** sj. Yeah I find myself getting zone out by Weskers/Magnetos/Hawkeye. I think, like with any character, you need to be able to do both. So in reality you and Danke are both right.Love how you were already able to implement that relaunch in there. These will definitely come in handy. Keep them coming!!!

How are you getting outzoned by wesker? He doesn’t have a horizontal projectile at any jump height.

Watching you practice this I have a question. Is there a reason you don’t hit after the unfly or replace the j. H before the unfly with a j. d.h to bring them lower? I’m going to test it later just wanted to know.

The easiest way to relaunch that I recently found is to replace the H AFTER the unfly with d.h, you can then go directly into cr.m s for the relaunch.

Anyone who uses Iron Man + Sentinel mind telling me how they use Drones for combo extension? You can call them during your launcher but it seems pretty inconsistent when you are not midscreen.

I see Alukard do a combo with Drone extension in the middle a lot but I’m not sure if he’s spiking them into Drones during the combo extension or popping them into Drones with Smart Bomb. When you are in the corner you can just call Drones during the launcher and spike them on top of the drones.

The combo Alukard uses is cr.m S j.h j.dh ADD j.dh Land [call Sentinel] j.m j.m j.h j.dh j.S dash up Smart Bomb(don’t know which version) Replusor [x2] dash up Smart Bomb H Proton Cannon

except i call drones as i S them to the ground =] there can be more but its risky and does only a tad bit more

So I was playing around with a super jump confirm and I found one that gets 960k+ from anywhere on screen with a single assist extension. It’s super consistent too:

sj.:u:+:h: (or just sj.:h:, depending on where your opponent is relative to you. They both work, but if the guy is right above you, :u:+:h: is more likely to stuff them), sj.:s:xxaddf, sj.:h:xxfly, fl.:h:, fl.:d:+:h:xxaddf, fl.:d:+:h:xxunfly, sj.:h: or sj.:s:, /, j.:m:, j.:m:, j.:d:+:h:, j.:s:, :d:+:m:, :s: /, sj.:m:, sj.:m:, sj.:h:, sj.:d:+:h:, sj.:s: /, call assist, :h: smart bombs, repulsor blast~:h:, repulsor blast~:h:, dash, :h: smart bombs xx Proton Cannon.

If your assists allow it, you can loop 2 at the end and get well over 1 million, possibly 1.1 million with the right assist.

I also found a neat way to get close to 900k solo in the corner, but I’ll wait and make a vid. It’s not super easy, but spacing isn’t an issue so once you get the timing down it could be worth adding to your repertoire.
