I would love it if it could home in on people, similarly to Maximum Spider. Yes, it’s been mentioned before, but I’m starting to get sad when I try to catch people on their way down from a jump, only for it to go right under them because I did it a half-second too early.
Lol, opponent couldn’t do anything to avoid it in the air if it homes in. Complete air dominance as soon you have ultra stocked. xD
Considering how OP some ultras are, having a a limited homing on Vega’s ultra will definitely help a lot.
Or at least make it somewhat maneuverable a la Fuerte’s.
Because it’s SO good as it is now. =/
I don’t need MS-accuracy here, and I certainly don’t need to combo into it. I just want to be able to tag them in the air as they’re coming down from a jump without missing. It’s situational enough as it is.
I’m pretty much done with BHC once SSF4 comes out. Even with its buffs its still situational as hell and you would still have a 10% chance (if that) of landing it against a good player.
Splendid Claw seems 10 times as useful both for punishes and overall damage. Which reminds me of another thing i hate about BHC, terrible damage. With mask on/claw on it only does 450, not very much for such a hard ultra to land. Even worse is when your claw is off it does around 400, about the same as Ryu’s. Yes Ryu, who can land his ultra after about 1000 different situations.
Why I love Splendid Claw :
-Possibly Comboable off AA ST, hell probably comboable off a normal ST.
-Seems better as a jump in punish than BHC
-The first 2 hits are kicks and the last hit is with a fist. This means that even if the claw gets knocked off, only 1 hit out of the whole ultra will have damage reduced, as opposed to the BHC where all 5 hits gets reduced. Also, even if both mask and claw is off, the first 2 kicks will still get buffed damage.
-Can still punish long distance high Tiger shots.
All this is enough for me to never use the BHC again, even with its new I-Frames and even if damage got buffed to akuma’s level. Splendid Claw still seems much, much more useful.
Chun is probably the most annoying match-up for me, besides Blanka. Her cr.HK destroys Vega if he even thinks about flipping. Not to mention her air throw and EX Spinning Bird Kick totally rule out any Walldive games. Chun can put huge pressure on Vega with her fireballs, blockstrings, cross-over flip kick, overhead special, etc.
As for Blanka’s roll, the best punish is either EX-Walldive or Ultra.
ohh one thing vega definitley needs is a non ex way to throw off the mask, i dont like wasting meter to ensure i dont lose the mask from a god damn bison doing endless block strings.
edit:thanks view
Claw throw is non-EX. Unless you mean mask throw?
less than 1% of tournaments, is there a link to that? or is that completely pulled out of your ass.
And directly hook your ps3 to your router so you can “trash” my vega with ryu.
Yo, on the real I will gladly face any Claw. Hit me up if you wanna play.
I actually saw that replay, yeah that rufus was wack. Missing 3 ultra chances is a big no no lol.
The EX-ST would highly reduce the amount of jump-ins the opponent could get away with on wake-up, if not all of them. Sure he can still be crossed-up, but everyone can be if its perfectly timed. Also most characters only do have one viable EX reversal, and all of them are better than an EX-ST with I-Frames would be, because of its execution.
SRK’s and Flashkicks are far easier to punish badly-timed cross-overs with than an ST is.
I do see your point though when it comes to overheads. Basically to build charge for all of Vega’s special moves most players instinctivly hold down and back. Overheads will force you to block high and ruin your charge for at least the Walldive and ST. The only real way to deal with this kind of pressure is luckily getting pokes in, backdashing, or speeding up the RCF since its the only special move you’d be able to maintain charge for. I would much rather have the EX-RCF be a drastically sped-up version, rather than being slow and passing through fireballs.
No different from how a number of good ultras already work.
“You should know not to be jumping”
I remember challenging you a couple times back when I first joined but there’s been no answer yet. I’ll take you up on this.
Cuz we could never join ever. I can’t join niggas in England for shit.
Aw don’t be like that. Don’t shoot me down 'afore a got ma wings.
lol are u crazy i wish i was able to c.mp into H RCF that would be great if it was fast enough.
Calm the hate man… I’m basing all the things I post here on the current Claw. If he had all the crap that you were talking about then you are more than likely correct. But as it stands… Blegh… Don’t forget, just because Claw gets buffs doesn’t mean others won’t. And don’t tell me getting out of rushes are easy if you are a good player… Just because Claw player is good doesn’t mean the opponent isn’t. While Claw only has a few escape options when rushed on wake up, the opponent has 3 or 4 things they can do to mix it up. I don’t play idiotic opponents. They know how to reversal Claw when you try to cr.LP/LK–>EX FBA. They know how to end Claw’s ST bluffs. They know Claw can’t jab them out of most tick throw baits cuz of his gay ass 4 frame jab. They know that all his jabs are one frame links and they can reversal him if he miss. They know that if I do EX FBA from a certain range they can poke me out with a single jab (and they can do it well too). They know that my flips can easily be countered by walking up and throw or sweep or combo into w/e. They know that if I do FBA too close to their wall they can just jump on me before I lunge from the wall. Its just alot of restrictions on Claw and too much freedom for others.
And defending is not all that hard for most characters. But for Claw, it is. As I said before, have you not noticed that most of the time that you get out of rushes is because the opponent makes a mistake? There are only a handful of pressure strings where Claw has a small frame to get out and its very easy to miss. Of course, for characters like Cammy or Dhalsim he has little problem with those strings. But for most of the other cast… Not so pretty.
Less arguing, more drooling at vegas ultra 2 and fixes
That would be a nice change of pace.
I really don’t think anyone will use BHC anymore, not unless it tracks or gets beefed damage (at least 550)
Decent St.HK would be nice, and reduce frames on cr.lp, cr.lk, cr.mp, and cr.hk. He’s a speed character FFS
What hate are you talking about? Where in my post was I angry at you? Why would I be?
I never said it’s easy to get out of rushes. But some guys here are making it sound as if it’s impossible and immediately game over once you’re down. That may apply because Vegas comeback skill is insanely low, or because he has his damn mask problem, but doesn’t have much to do with his reversal. If those two things are adressed (first one already is), I don’t see much of a problem with just blocking, given that rushes in this game that do not come from Rufus, Abel, Zangief don’t really pose much of a threat, and I’m talking about smart rushes. Compared to other fighting games, this is a joke, especially because overheads are rare and part of them are damn slow and because throws can be teched. Rushing well is pretty damn hard in this game. Look at Dagger G, his defense is good. Akuma (Block- and Pressurestring-machine) gets in on him multiple times but he can still fend off without hurting himself too much by simply blocking and teching. And damn, did the Akuma player get frustrated because he had to work his way in again!
The main and most important problem people here have without realizing is the mask problem. This is also what I didn’t notice until maybe 3 months ago. - losing the mask constantly and picking it up thousands of times has made this a more or less “automated process” in my head, that I don’t even notice anymore while playing. It’s like, you get rushed, lose the mask, don’t notice it, pick it up without really knowing and see your health degreased by a good 30%. Suck it in, guys, Vega has 6% more life than Seth once it’s gone. This is, in my opinion, the root of all evil!
That, and not being able to come back in a match (which was hopefully fixed with his new Ultra) are the two things that really bother me. You get rushed, get out, took a lot of damage because of mask issues and can’t turn the match around - that’s the problem IMO. It’s not like you get rushed, and die because you can’t get out. I’d trade an IFrame EX ST ANYTIME with the ability to not lose my mask in a match anymore. I won’t be disappointed if Vega should get the EX ST. I will when I notice that his damn mask still flies off.
Now, other important problems for me are some of his pokes that simply go unused? Why? Why can’t all of my pokes be at least “good” when I’m an all around poking character?
