the explanation has already been given numerous times, which unfortunately never had the privilege of being read.
No, it’s been read. They’ve all read it. They all know. They just want a Shoryuken because they can’t possibly wrap their’ minds around anything other than an invincible reversal attack being a legitimate escape from pressure.
What the f they thought back flips were designed to do I’ll never fathom, but it’s quite clear Capcom intended those to be used instead of putting stale invul frames on scarlet terror. It just so happens that backflips are stunted and underdeveloped.
So here’s an idea. Why don’t we just fix back flips? Oh, what’s that? That solution makes too much sense? That solution preserves Vegas’ SF4 presence as well as functioning to provide needed relief from pressure without resorting to the same exact solution every other character in the game has been copyxpasted with? I’m sorry, I’ll try not to be right next time.
Yet neither of you offered any rebuttal to the whole “Backflips would still be easily punishable by high-level players,Vega is still screwed in the corner, constant blockstrings are still free on wake-up” argument.
Instead of criticizing what I read. How about you read yourselves and actually respond to this.
Fucking everything is punishable goddamn are you dense or something.
its actually kind of funny,
on one side we got blanka players like the mullah who is vehemently arguing that vega, even in his current build is pretty usable with his great footsies.when in reality, being a blanka player he has the highest authority to diss vega.
and on the other side,we got ryu and sagat players, whose characters where recently discovered to have no proper/sure shot answer to vega’s wakeup izuna games(thats right, not even your dragon punches)).but these people, being completely oblivious to the said fact, still say stuff like vega is garbage in sf4 etc.
guess what folks, capcom came the closest in getting vega right in sf4.even in his current build, contrary to what many of you people think,he is NOT considered garbage or unplayable.
its just that he seems to have a couple of problems that are beyond the scope of stuff such as “he has no answer to wake up pressure etc”.
so please do some reading on the vega sf4 q and a thread before posting.
also for the record, capcom is NEVER going to give st invulnerability frames.cause if they do happen to do that(which they wont),it would only mean that their level of understanding of the current build of
vega would be on par with you guys.
OFC everything is punishable, the question is “how punishable” which you so clearly fail to understand.
Both backflips and teleports are used for evasion. Now if you would be so kind, please tell me how punishable Dictator’s backwards warp is compared to Vega’s flips? How about Dhalsim’s? Akuma’s? Seth’s?
Are you saying you want Vega to perform a miraculous flip that send him all the way to the wall so that its as useful as all other evasive moves? That would be a little too ridiculous. I, aswell as others, have also explain how simply increasing the backflip’s speed wont save it from being easily read due to having no other options to evade blockstrings in the corner
I have a friend who mains Sagat who can easily punish Walldive games with an auto-correct Tiger Uppercut. Just because you’ve seen Sagats get easily owned by Izuna drops (since they clearly have no idea how to handle it) doesn;t mean there is no answer for it.
you just got handled by your own post.doing a tiger uppercut is NOT the answer to getting out of the loop.if he did do that,it just means that the vega player’s execution was off.
any sagat player in the right mind,WOULD NOT attempt to uppercut his way out of the loop.
in other words,if the execution of the vega player is spot on,its IMPOSSIBLE to uppercut out of the loop.
i hope ive made myself clear.
honestly, this one post is enough to warrant your limited knowledge on the said character.
Because a backflip is exactly what it is. How would a purely defensive move compensate for a kickflip? The whole point is to make them think twice before jumping and help you survive being cornered, not give you more options to run away.
I dont see how iST = srk, it wouldnt even be ‘flash kick’ useful because its DB CHARGE.
So…you know the loop.
Ryu and Sagat still rape him.
I miss the memo where it said this was a solid strategy.
Wow FoutsKazuya I never saw it that way. I never thought that it was not possible to reduce recovery frames/travel time on both flips, or that the only response Vega has to pressure is to mash that KKK/PPP.
Please.
by theory its a pretty solid stratedgy, but its incredibly difficult to pull it of 100% of the times, especially in clutch situations.
also if the screen streches, even by a little(which happens 40% of the times),then your timing is going to be completely off.if that happens though, you got to whiff your wall dive.
but its as though i made it sound like with this new strategy, the matchup is now in vega’s favour.which is not the point im trying to make, all im trying to say is that the people here are soo dense and senile, that they dont even pay attention to the kind of moves and strategies that vega players are comiong up with without their knowledge.
Is anybody eles getting hit out the air with your FBA with a foot in the face with ease or is it just me???
Will the new FBA in SSF4 help that?
Nope. Just you. And by just you, I mean all of us.
I got crouching light punched out of an ex sky claw last night. so technically yes
Anybody else for making FBA and SHC air-borne on the first frame? Getting thrown/tripped out of those seems to be a common problem.
You get the gold medal in failing to counter my corner argument. How exactly will sped-up flips save you from corner assaults? Oh yeah, they won’t. Welcome to street fighter 4.
Please, its obvious that you love ignoring my good points of why Vega needs I-frames on the ST, and keep convincing yourself that Vega just needs faster backflips. I’m sure all the Ryu’s will love reacting to the flip with fireballs, and the Sagat’s will love kara-kneeing your face in.
backflips and ST could easily both be legit reversal options. Not unlike akuma having both an SRK and a teleport. Backflips can be used because they are hard to punish (or they SHOULD HAVE BEEN), and ST is used when blackflips aren’t an option and you need to take a risk for a reversal move (corner use only, pretty much).
The only person I’ve heard with any legit reasoning on “no invul frames” is Joz. The rest is all stuff about vega’s “flavor” which people seem hesitant to describe in detail, outside of saying “you just don’t KNOW”. like it’s a conspiracy and they’re the only ones in on it.
Lol you guys referencing Bang Install and Ivan Ooze from a Power Rangers fighting game . Now how well do you think a character that couldn’t block would do in SF4? Obviously my intent was as an analogy to another otherwise universal gameplay mechanic in a solid reversal with invincible frames, which in SF4, is almost an important as blocking. The fact that this mechanic was given to every other character, and taken away from Vega when he used to have it, is the single mistake in an array of many that most results in Vega being shitty in the game. So for you guys that have never player Street Fighter 2 to sit there and actually try to get righteous and preach about what this character is about and what they need etc., is really just amusing.
once again i didnt see you contributing shit to the boards for sf4 about vega so you can take your faggity shit elsewhere.
your just a scrub, if i you cant rock anything but god tier you should probably quit life.
