His EX RCF should crumple! Then, it could be combo-able into his BHC.
I know they nerfed Dee Jay’s EX Dread Crumple > Ultra but I don’t think the same should be done to Vega. Vega’s BHC does laughable damage anyway.

Fix all his 3-7 match ups.
Faster please!
More damage or more health.
-An Ultra that doesn’t suck
-Make Scarlet Terror a more viable anti-air/wake-up
-Make the claw and mask less flimsy–take out the claw throw entirely or make it one of his taunts
-Beef up his damage output, keep his health around the same/slightly higher and as others have said, make his hits inflict more stun. He can still be a bitch when it comes to getting dizzied himself as long as changes in those other areas are made
-Shorter recovery on empty/blocked wall-dive moves
-Shorter start-up on far/EX rolls
This is about all I think he’d need to crawl out of bottom-tier and be able to hang with most of the other cast. To make him, like, ST Claw-good, just give him some reliable Ultra setups on top of these other changes and you’d be golden
If you have watched the new character trailer tell my Guy’s ultra shouldn’t have been Claw’s…
BHC into Izuna.
I have not given up hope yet…
Having EX RCF as a crumple would be useless, because that move never hits anyways, and besides it has way too many hits so the damage scaling would lower BHC way too much. They should make his piece of mercury a crumple move, and keep it the way it is.
And seriously thats unfair for guy to have a way cooler Izuna than Vega.
Make a normal crumple stun? Are you crazy?
Vega changes:
-Faster walking and jumping speed
-Reduce startup on EX RCF, about as much startup as LP RCF.
-Less recovery on RCF across the board.
-Less recovery frames on KKK Backflip.
-Less Recovery Frames landing from Sky High Claw and a no input FBA.
-More priority on ST, I. Frames on EX ST startup.
-Bloody High Claw invincible while rising to wall.
-Red Impact as 2nd Ultra. 400-500 base damage, usable as anti-air, only available with claw.
Possible to combo into. For example: EX ST (1sthit)/AA LK ST -> FADC -> Ultra. 2 frame link.
-Mask Toss costs 25% meter.
I dunno. Rolling Izuna drop as a move I think looks cooler than guy’s Ultra. Dropping someone on their head 3 times in a row? Pain ville. Though, Guy drops them once from a much higher distance. I’m just a Vega fanboy though so don’t listen to me on that haha.
Anyway!
-Increase Vega’s speed when he takes off his claw
-Remove the stupid penalty when the mask comes off, or don’t make it come off so often.
-Comboable ultra of some kind (RED IMPACT/SCARLET MIRAGE PLZ)
-EX Flip like Graphf said.
-Slight speed increase?
-More stun.
-Let him throw his claw at his opponent like Cody throws his knife.
Aesthetic changes:
-Some blood when he strikes with his claw like in SFII.
-Fix his hair during his victory pose where he puts his hand on his face.
-Change voice samples with his mask comes off to show that he’s flipped out.
I’m just throwing some ideas out there… I’m still confident that they’ll fix him up nicely for SSFIV.
THAT’S NOT WHAT YOU TOLD ME LAST NIGHT :crybaby:
Why shouldn’t piece of mercury be a crumple move. It is hard enough to hit with as it is, that if you actually hit with, then you deserve a crumple or at least a combo. It is so slow starting, and has horrible recovery (therefore is easily punishable) + its not even an overhead. Plus didn’t capcom say that more characters were going to get a crumple? If Dee Jay can get a crumple from that super fast Ex kick with invincibilty that looks super easy to hit with then it shouldn’t be a problem for vega to het a crumple with piece of mercury. Heck they could even make it a combo into an ultra.
Plus focus attacks are much easier to get a crumple with, so I don’t think that it would be too unreasonable for him to get a crumple from the piece of mercury.
idk…it would be kind of weird having a normal attack with crumple properties. plus he already has one of the best FA range in the game. they should just make it an overhead.
This is another thing idea I could get behind, might not change too much in the great scheme of things, but it also might give him a more consistent combo against many characters. Good thinking!
can’t tell if serious
I forgot:
-Make Piece of Mercury an overhead.
With this and the above, just like that, Vega’s a good character.
EX Dread Kicks can crumple stun because it’s a special move, and costs meter to use. A normal being bad is no excuse to give it ridiculous properties.
Capcom is making it so you can’t combo Ultra after the EX-Dreadkicks. I think it was a bit of a ridiculous idea to begin with.
After most people saw that, a lot of them started asking for EX moves that crumple into Ultra for their characters.
Well they should change EX RCF all in all. They should give it a faster startup, and have the hits of his LP RCF, much like Dee Jay’s EX Dread. It should crumple I swear, BHC should be comboable into that, it does horrible damage anyway. It’s probably gonna be worse than Balrog’s 24 hit combo.
A normal attack crumpling someone? Sounds like Tekken.
It’s not really all that different to current characters. EX Dread Kicks are a guaranteed Ultra?
So are EX Tiguer Uppercut, Buffalo Headbutt and Shunpukyaku, spaced EX Gadouken and Thunder Knuckle, as well as a good few non-EX moves (normal Buffalo, Gen’s cr.short, Gouken’s back throw).
Plenty of characters can already Ultra from a single hit, many being hit confirmable from jabs.
Besides fixing the ultra and the glitches, they need to just delete some of the useless frames on some of his moves. Deleting some frames from the piece of mercury (ending lag), cr. fierceK (ending lag), RCF (startup frames), SHC (landing lag), his dashes, and backflips, will make him so much more playable.
His dashes are seriously way too slow. When Ryu connects with a focus attack lvl 1 and dashes he can block my reversal ST, but in a vega mirror match vega can’t block the reversal ST after a lvl 1 focus attack --> forward dash. Why are Vega’s dashes so slow? Seriously. If he has no overhead, and has all these flaws (list of flaws), then why make him so slow? He is supposed to be a ninja, and ninjas are fast…
His focus attack is pretty slow as well, but capcom said that everyone’s focus attack is getting faster so I shouldn’t worry about that.
You sure about that?
I thought they are just taking out a glitch that let you do EX Dread Kicks x4 into Ultra. So that now you can only do a single ex dread into ultra.
And why the hell does he stun so easily? What advantage does he have to warrant him being easily stunned?
It’s almost criminal he stuns so easily with the 10 other weaknesses he has. It’s like Capcom was going for a Vega that was hard to catch or get close to, but they failed. He doesn’t have a single move with fast startup, save ultra or super. You can’t flip your way out of meaties…
The QC department at Capcom overall did a good job, but failed at Vega.
Yeah that’s what I interpreted it to mean too.
