So I leave this thread and come back…only to see FSE and KitL making noise to each other? Don’t understand why…Nina and Juri are both trash, get over it /kappa
Edit: That Elena color scheme though…time to steal-I mean…remix it!
Nah but seriously. Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Dhalsim, Rolento, Jack-X, Kazuya (mainly due to sheer damage due to EWGF) are some good examples of people who do well against Zangief.
I believe that you can throw most of his options on wake-up provided that he has no meter (not 100% sure on this so if I’m wrong please say so). Unless he wakes up with jab or something like that.
At worst on block, all verisons of Green hand ( :dp: + :p: ) are -4 on block. Unless he does it meaty but that’s another subject in itself.
I dunno about that one. I think Zangief has to take massive risks to get in without being hit by Dhalsim’s fireballs, limbs and teleport.
Of course should the stuff you’ve mentioned connect, more power to him but I’d say that they’re very risky options because if he messes up then Dhalsim can just teleport behind him and punish him for it.
That’s just my opinion on why I’d say Dhalsim beats Zangief match-up wise.
The thing is, Gief can sit full screen from Sim and not go in because lariat dodges the fireballs and tag’s yoga sniper which covers the teleport. It invites Sim to go low which he can launch and if you’re doing a raw launch from full screen you’re not getting whiff punished for it.
In theory, Dhalsim should counter Gief in any Street Fighter game, he’s supposed to, zoner vs. slow big body. Gief just has some cheap shit he can abuse because of the system mechanics.
In regard, to all the criticizing of timeovers, playstyles, gems selection, mashing, cheap overheads on block, lllllllllllmmhh, hwoarang, law flip kicks, mishima roundhouse, jab jab pressure, etc. Remember: Dont hate the player, hate the game partner.
Just hit me up when you’re online I’d just let you watch the replays. For the record I think your Juri plays a more solid, but Iunno I’m kinda done with putting anymore effort into this lol. I feel like if I post it on youtube for the specific purpose of making him look bad it’s just bullying.
I mean this dude threatened to gouge my eyes out, always uses ellipses and always types some dark poetry sounding shit. And I don’t want to feel responsible if he shoots up some random school or something.
That hit-box is really aggressive though. If you don’t do it early, you get counter-hit AND combo’d. I wouldn’t blame you for simply blocking it, and it’s a tad tough to A2A it as well.
That’s a weird paradox for fighting game players…
Go full tilt from square one. That’s what I do anyway (or try to). There’s no real reason to lose and cover your ass for it. If you can rake some wins in, rake them in so you aren’t the one scurrying around looking for excuses and explanations for the lop-sided W/L record. Even when I play casual, I play to beat the opponent. That’s the point, right? If you truly enjoy a competitive game, there’ll always be fun to be had in playing to win, even if that fun’s not immediately observable due to salt (Nina pisses me off, but I still ask Kit for games when I’m looking for Endless bouts).
Hell, I love this game so much I actively time people out in 3rd Strike and SFIV if I see the chance. /NoKappa
Except she isn’t THAT bad. I’d say Sakura, Hugo, and Poison are worse than Asuka. There, 3 other people for ya.
PRETTY good? It’s ONE BUTTON and hits cross-ups. It’s the best AA on the SF side.
So I played a bunch of sets vs a friend today as Sakura and I’ve gotten neutral jump cross up tatsu to hit. It’s so amazing. Sometimes she is clearly in front and it still hits as a cross up. On another note does anyone have any Sakura safe jumps?
Edit: Hero of time teach me how to Sakura plz. I know you’re hoarding Sakura tech.
Lol I forgot it even hits cross ups. As jump happy as I am I don’t even bother vs gief. =(
And honestly I think Asuka mains don’t realize how bad their character is, because EVERY TIME I face an Asuka player I get my ass handed to me. It’s really frightening when you face an opponent that doesn’t know how bad their “low tier” character is…
The problem is that, in actuality, she kind of IS low-tier. But she’s not “bad”. Paradox, but that’s the best way to describe Asuka without trolling or being an idiot. Asuka is a perfect anchor char since she thrives on knockdowns and momentum. Just have your first char get the launch or the tag and have Asuka go to work from there. Her weaknesses only show when she can’t get in. Otherwise, she’s actually more than solid, with amazing damage output.
Also, YOU jump happy? Trust me, there’s worse out there. Besides, with Nina’s agressive jumping attack hit-boxes, I’d get used to jumping too. <=X
I was using Sakura today in a 5-man room. I did pretty solid, but I choked a few times here and there. Empty-jump cr. LK -> cr. HP -> EX Shunpukyaku -> rest of combo has probably become my new BnB. Her damage output is so crummy it’s slightly insulting, but I like her mobility a lot.
Dhalsim, Rolento, and M. Bison are honestly the only matchups in the game where I would rather use my rubbish secondaries instead of Zangief. Which, granted, is three more hopeless cases than, say, Hwoarang, Kazuya or Jin have, but for the most part, Gief is able to keep up with most of the cast in my experience!
And for the record, Zangief can only raw launch one or two of Sim’s limbs.
My dude, my fellow Juri compatriot… we’re cool as cool can be but please stop this.
Why in the name of Hank Hill would you even want to go in if you have the life lead? With Juri no less?
Juri is great at zoning, probably one of her best strengths.
You have a life lead.
Keep them --> over there.
I can understand rushing down and pressuring when you don’t have the lead or if you’re able to get in, but not going in when you have the life lead and making them come to you is like, Fighting Game 101, especially when time is low.
Even if you’re playing the purest of pure rushdown characters who was bathed in the Cursed Spring of Rushdown at the base of Mt. Rushdown… you should still probably hang back a liiiiiiittle bit and let them hang themselves.
