Oh Elena’s back throw is disgusting. If you are in the corner and use it, you will end up on the other side of the screen and you have to dash up again… On the other hand you can raw tag afterwards I believe

Though I recently found out that any action pushes you out of the corner and some tekken characters can’t pass through (even if they dash <3 Nina& Christie) but still prevent rolls. But pretty much B+HK is the tried and true. Though the safe jump set up is also pretty dirty.

LK lynx tail (cr.mp) jf.mk 4 frame safe jump (this is a bit finicky since her lynx tail animation can be canceled just don’t mash cr.mp but practice timing it as early as possible is my advice)
HK lynx tail (cr.lk whiff) jf.mk 5 frame safe jump (pretty lenient when it comes to mashing)
Also NEVER mallet smash if you landed a lynx tail up close unless you’re prepared for the opponent to roll. Because if they try to block they will be forced to roll. But there are things you can do if you want to force them to roll. Bear in mind that if they roll they can’t reversal and meaty moves beat throws and mash:)
After forced roll:
Option 1- Since they probably won’t expect it you can LP/HP/EX mallet to stay safe and keep the pressure on them.
Option 2 - you can super jump forward j.mk If they try to block on reaction and miss their roll window then pretty much nothing happens lol. They can’t reversal you with anything it’s just regular oki.
Option 3- Meaty cr.MP or st.mp
Option 4 - (Tall characters only) St.HP(hits meaty) >HK TC works and since they can’t reversal it’s a free way to stay at +2 (on block)while staying within st.lk range. It’s also a free combo on hit (I’d just do lk into EX lynx tail).
Maybe I’ll compile a complete list of tall characters later.

Balrog is considered tall. So he loses his charge, he can’t reversal,can’t mash and he has to guess high low. Also she can punish every dash punch except for LK dash upper.Such a bad match up lol…

Safe Jumps:
Unfortunately, Elena’s throws doesn’t give her much frame advantage and they also push the opponents way to far, even on corner. The following setup works nicely against characters with slow reversals, such as Law, Chun, Nina, Julia, Alisa, Ogre, meterless Elena and more.
b.throw, dash, f.jump hp (Safe from 6 frame reversals, empty jump is safe from all reversals.)
Lk Lynx Tail: (missing, come back later)
Sweep, wait a bit, f.jump mk (Safe from 5 frame reversals, a bit hard to do, you have to “cancel” the end of the animation… sometimes the visuals of this game doesn’t help much.)
Easy confirms into VERY high solo, meterless damage, one of the best overheads in the game (safe, fast, ground bounce on back dashes, juggles, and CHs, chases rolls, sets up CH charges and roll bait and safe tags), EX SS is STUPID, fast movement, ambiguous jump-ins that also have overly aggressive hit-boxes so it’s hard to use normal AAs against them + gives you less time to input a special AA, strong A2A game with fjmp. HP/HK, undeserved AA buff in lk Geyser, good reach, ability to pass through fireballs, good back dash for zoning purposes, no real weaknesses to exploit due to her overhead making the one weakness she could’ve had obsolete.
It’s like Cammy with easy combos and a fast overhead, which would make her top tier in a snap.

Technically, Ivory Cutter can chase rolls. The only thing is that it’d be a raw one into a tag.
Yo, I sent in some back and forth matches between me and chaoslimits(8 in total). EVO chose to upload two of the matches where I won. So, then the video comes out and I check the comments. Apparently, I get lucky wins and they can’t appreciate my matches. Fuck it, I’ll just upload to my own damn channel and get 14 views, lol.
Mistakes with nina=fuck your health bitch. Even lllmhh makes her bleed. ms.williams your hit confirm was denied here is 30-40% of your health madam…can we really stop making nina sound like she cant be beat please…

Or you can Pandora after HK geyser and just super with Elena for 547 damage. Which means it does 843 damage. (No damage gems)
To clear things up. You can potentially get 728 for 2 bars or 843 for 2 bars+ Pandora. If you use EX RH to punish a fireball you may land 220 or 235 on CH. (658 or 773 total)
You can also use jMK for it to be uber ambiguous (It never whiffs either) for 30 less damage.

Nope Nina is unbeatable in every way. That’s why she’s would make a great gf or wife (if she were real) she’s fit, great child bearing hips, she could beat up a nigga, and she doesn’t look a day over 25. Only problem is the fact that she has a son, but at least he’s old enough to take care of himself.
That vid wouldn’t be so awkward with the original sound.
Btw if you ever happen to run into rnk and Lucius has 3 bars, raw launch his jump in. I noticed that he alwas goes for empty jump low when he wants to cross assault. At least in evo’s vids. That restand is dangerous though…
It’s not that she can’t be beat. She’s just extremely solid with nothing to exploit, but at the same time, has a ton of tools designed to exploit:
-…those that rely on air-based moves through lk. Geyser (Elena & Sakura primarily).
-…those with low reaching cancel-able pokes since her confirms actually have pretty solid reach as is, especially for light moves (Sakura (again), Asuka, etc.).
-…those with low health due to combo damage. (Akuma, almost all female characters, Guile).
-…those that have a tough time with zoners through Skull Splitter and its EX variant (grapplers, players that don’t see that bs EX move coming…>_>)
-…those that don’t have fully invincible reversal options for when Nina’s pressuring their wake-up with that dreaded overhead -> tag/cr. MK 50/50 (Elena again, most Tekken chars when without meter).
I mean, the low health thing is natural. All female chars in Capcom games have around 900 health. The fact that she does isn’t special. Akuma has like 850 and his offensive/defensive potential isn’t even as good as hers. So she has no fireball? Makes little difference when EX SS makes you hold still blocking low so she can hinder your mobility while she has the freedom to move wherever she needs, and to boot, her lk Geyser keeps people from jumping at her either. Much like Law, I’d be less concerned about her ground game if her AA game (and to boot, her A2A game as well) wasn’t so strong. She’s just good at basically everything besides chunking fireballs. Even her super, on block, pushes her back like 2/3 of the screen on the last hit. It REALLY IS sort of stupid, but it’s not impossible to beat. Just unnecessarily difficult when used by the right player.
@cg123n1 If you’re crazy you could try to launcher her SS. I guarantee she won’t try it again. xD
In regards to Elena you can DP out of her Ivory cutter since it hits mid (upper body strike invincible) there is still the threat of low attacks…
Elena VS Nina boils down to this.
Elena st.HK/ B+HK > Nina SS and cr.mk/HK
Elena Scratch wheel > Nina Ivory Cutter
Elena Scratch wheel < Nina cr.MK
Nina lk Geyser > Elena st.HK/ B+HK, Mallet Smash, LK Scratch wheel, Rhino Horn
My only advice is block low a lot until she comes into cr.mp range and punish SS with st.lk. And you can harass Nina with st.lk > Lk lynx. That’s pretty much all I got though. xD
Also you forgot her best block string cr.MK > EX Rolling dash > Back hand 200 damage for blocking son. xD
Nina has standard female health so she’s not a glass cannon at all (900) and is basically the opposite to Chun - much better anti air, mixup potential and damage, giving up some footsies and hitconfirm ability. I’d say shes probably the best character in the game - or at least best anchor thats for sure. I find it funny how Chun is basically representing the ‘fundamentals’ aspect of SFxT, while Nina/Asuka is representing the ‘bullshit’ part of SFxT yet everyone hates Chun and loves Nina/Asuka, while saying that they like the game because theres not as much bullshit in it. Thats like liking Seth/El Fuerte while disliking Fei Long in SF4 and hating SF4 for all the bullshit in it.
