Well… I’ll stand by that Phoenix Wright is a fun character to play, even if he may not necessarily be effective.
Megaman and Pacman in this game however… just… no.

But I agree, joke/exclusive characters are bloody useless. Alas, Cole and the others weren’t put in the game out of goodwill. So the whole argument is pointless anyway. It was a business deal, a sales boost. Naught more.
It depends. I don’t mind joke characters at all, and even if they weren’t there, it doesn’t somehow guarantee that your favorite character will make it to the roster anyway.
I just hate when joke characters or guest characters have absolutely no chance or are really, really bad even for joke characters… or don’t even relate to the game.
Example: I don’t mind Dan in AE. He can compete. Maybe not well, but you’re not pressing a “you win” button by selecting him at all.
Ironically, a sales boost that didn’t help much and IMO backfired. >___>
I don’t even think of Cole as being a joke. It’s actually a decent character. His stupidly low health is what’s keeping him down. 2013 patch should increase his health to 850 at least.
I really don’t see why not. He’s capcoms star character and its clear plenty of people still like him and want him in the game.
I hope players will still consider Kuma a joke character, especially after the 2013 update.:badboy:
Kuma is a joke character of the best kind. People see all the trailers and such of him farting all over the place and think “lol this guy.”
Then they actually play a good Kuma and end up throwing their stick across the room screaming “fuck this guy!”
His headbutt is getting +50 on damage, and he gets a solid crossup…
I gotta start playing him more, especially with that weird ass alternate costume.

Well the joke characters/exclusived were made in the good will of being used along with scramble battle(that thing we don’t use).
Nothing wrong with casuals having fun. Still though, I would liked to had seen more work put into them.
Cole can be decent if you ignore the his health.

And yeah, because that headbutt needed 50 more damage. That grab is going to be so ridiculous. If I had the patience and my characte rlist hadn’t grown so much I’d play him again.

Does this game become Knock Down X Vortex in the next patch? With the nerf to rolls and if people get their auto correct game up. Being knocked down will be SCARY. Especially when every character can chain into sweep. You disliked Rufus before? Wait until he dive kicks your roll. You thought you Akuma had forgotten about your pathetic soul? Well Demon Flip Palm says hi. Or am I seeing this all wrong?
Haha, that might have been my buddy CannibusCureAll, he made it all black with red eyes. When he gets the win with the Bear, you see the giant head at the win quote screen, when it goes to character 2, it gets closer.:wtf:

You’re seeing it right but vortexs can still get blown up by alpha counter and Lili’s counter. Oh, don’t forget everyone’s favorite rich girl is already a vortex character. She’s just going to be mad stupid come patch. matches like jack-x will be out right retarded for him. Lili can pursue you many ways and put you back in a hard knock down state and continue her vortex. Pretty much she’ll rape the cast since most of them have shitty nerfed normals. >=D
Nerfing the roll was a bad idea imo. I like that you were in trouble if your opponent anticipated it and if they didnt it was actually a very useful tool. I wouldnt mind characters having vortex’s in the game but I liked having a good extra option on wake up.

I guess Capcom were trying to sate people’s hunger for guaranteed setups, AKA, AE2012. The game will look mightily different and I think with health recovery being slowed down, matches might end a lot faster.
