Devs should learn from apple.
Announce almost right before release. The long gaps are really bad for competitive games as people naturally just kinda stop playing and wait for the new version.

At some post above,
NO HONDA IN SFxT PLEASE GOD NO!
This is true, it almost like some of us goes through relapse because of Capcom’s Shenanigans o_O
but not all is lost since people still make strives to keep this portion of the community alive with various tech findings and very interesting match videos, but there are those times when i talk to people and they look at me funny when I mention SFxT…then i proceed to hi five my face in anguish as people still have ass backwards ideals on this game.
Ok so we are talking about a tutorial that would be set up something like this?
**Part 1: The Basics **
Cover the basic SF Fundamentals i.e. universal movement (including dashing forwards and backwards, jumping, super-jumping etc.), buttons and what they do, rules of the game and how to win matches.
Maybe could go into stuff like anti-airing but that could be later down the line.
**Part 2: System Mechanics (BIG Part) **
Cover stuff such as Grey Life, Rolling, Launchers, Super Arts, Cross Arts, EX Moves, Pandora, Cross Assault, Meter, Chains, Links
Part 3: The Gem System (Because this thing needs a whole part to it)
Cover the different types of gems from straight up Power to stuff like Resolution as well as possibly clear up some common mis-conceptions about the system such as things like: ‘Whoever has the better gems will win’. Although I think that the latter is a little controversial and I think this guide should take a neutral approach to the game.
**Part 4: Advanced Stuff **
Quite a bit to cover here including:
[]Differences between chains and links
[]The Importance of Meter Management
[]Juggle System
[]How Damage Scaling Works
[]Getting up off the ground
[]Footsies/Spacing
[]Frame Data
[]Tagging Out Safely
[]Some Good Offensive Strategies e.g. Empty Jump > Low Attack
[]Some Good Defense Strategies

Fun uses of Pandora / Cross Assault
All of which can be supported with character specific examples.
So for instance for stuff like offensive strategies, high/low mix-ups can come under them. A good example being Xiaoyu’s Low/Overhead mix-up or Julia’s Swift Step Mix-up off of a Tiger Strike Hard Knockdown.
Of course, the best time to get this game back into the spot-light is to pump out enough solid content for the game the moment the patch goes LIVE and people are playing it.
Putting out stuff like videos for character change-logs and their buffs and nerfs in action as well as possible combo videos showing off new combo opportunities. I may intend to do changes for both Akuma and Lili (although Lili is pretty dependent unless Juri_kills_friend beats me to it. To which I won’t mind either way.)
All of this planning and I hate to say that I can’t really do this whole SFxT tutorial though as education has been my main priority as of late.
It’s a tough year for me, so spare time for me will be pretty short and my content may become pretty stagnant around exam periods.
I know that it is a bunch of excuses and I dislike the idea of making them but man education has to come first for now.
That would be a good idea, however a project of that magnitude would take at least a month or two to complete. The real question is, who is willing to do this big project to begin with?
honestly, this is the sort of thing thats likely best suited to a wiki environment with several people working on it simultaneously.
this would be the fastest and most likely option. Not to mention the amount of information stored in the threads here, It would be for the best…however I do believe Video instruction goes along way so I think it’s an option that should be revised…
At me basically. And I can’t disagree strongly enough. :shake:
Headbutt Wallbounce on CH.
I’m tempted, but equipment and time are my hindrances. Maybe in the lull after the holidays I can try to? I’ll just have to remember to slow my speech down because I talk ridiculously fast. >___>
but… what about ex- falling rain? I’d enjoy that a lot
Personally, I’d prefer Makoto, R. Mika, and Q
Yang should be in…
also that yun jackass just because it’s an easy team.
I’ve been saying this ever since the game was first announced.
Also,
Gill/Ogre
Akuma/Jinpachi
Just for boss character shits and giggles. (I also like the idea of the boss guys violating the rule of the team having to be all SF or TK.).
Jinpachi would be out of hand in this game lol.
…He’d fit right in.
But Gill would be A-OK.
We need more Viper, Seth, AE Yun/Yang to remind people of what a ridiculous character actually is.
Viper/Seth could team up as she works for his company. And Yun/Yang could team up to remind people of how good dive kicks were.
Also, honorable mention to Vanilla Sagat, that Tiger Uppercut would be too good in this game.
What do you guys think is totally broken in this game? For me, I haven’t found anything truly oppressive like SF4’s vortex mix up or unblockables. Also, I don’t believe there’s a truly ‘cheap’, ala Seth/Viper, character in this game. Everything seems quite fair, well apart from the way Zangief destroys most of the Tekken cast, IMO. Especially poor old Asuka.
Gill would be banned again. :-p
Nah I’m sure they could tone him down. So long as he doesn’t have that stupid Resurrection ability.
YES YES I KNOW YOU CAN STOP AND ITS MY FAULT I NEVER JAB HIM OUT OF IT BUT ITS STILL DUMB >.<
(Sorry, having flashbacks from 2001 me always forgetting about that stupid move)
Seth should not be in a game.
He’s just a lazy shit combination character. I object simply on the premise of him being a bad design, the fact that he has come to be top tier in SF4 is just a shame for that game.
Cody’s cr.lk is the only thing that is really obviously too good IMO. I can’t think of anything else that’s on that level.
EWGF.
Some characters can deal with it… most can’t. Jack and Rufus and Chun are the same way. The other good character can deal. The rest just whimper in the corner.
