Yes but in SFxT random things don’t turn the tables as much as UMVC3 or AE.
I think you summed it up best. And know how to manage your health and how to effectively tag out.
So I magically got my gold crown a few moments ago. Shit makes no sense.
Stupid me. The reason Juri’s cr.HP miss after a switch is because I do it too late.
However, the margin of error is still pretty high, so I’ll go ahead with the modified version of my combo. :nunchuck:
I will have to lessen the number of hits as well to maximize the damage, but it might cost my meter building.
I disagree with that.
A random jab or cLK can take half health easy. Not to mention the tag mechanic can make DP>FADC look like weaksauce.
The difference is, it is often easier to insulate yourself against the little random things.
Disagree. Those aren’t random. Those are punishing mashers. The landing recovery in here is more or less the same added in with the fact that throws are 7 frames of start up. If you feel you are getting hit by these constantly it’s not random.
I guess I should reword my previous post. Random desperation tactics work way less here.
Random is a figure of speech.
The stuff in marvel and AE is also not technically random either.
Point is, stuff like safe high damage boost combos and DP tags (among other things) reward stuff very highly for a very limited amount of resources.
Example, someone mashes DP though a pressure string (in a game where half the cast doesn’t really have block strings) and tag cancels. He’s pretty safe if he guesses right, and if it connects, I easily loose half my life.
This same issue rears its head with the boost combos. Fishing with boost combos gets sill because if how safe many if them are.
Bottom line, risk reward isn’t quite right in this game. Most of the 2013 changes directly address the risk reward issue.
that will be a big one come the next patch. The more reckless you play the more it’ll come back to haunt you. Especially since a few mistakes in this game lead to certain death in most cases.
yeah that’s why i said usually =)
I’ve lost to c+ and D+ players because they played a very solid game. But if you’re an A and above you should not be losing to newer players unless it’s a character you don’t know about. That usually happens when people fight my Lili because it’s twofold. One it’s a character that most people have limited knowledge on and secondly they don’t encounter a very good Lili player. Then again you could be a justin wong like player and come on as a D and mess up everyone. That’s just online. You don’t know who is on the otherside of the screen. I’ve been trolled lately by a lot of the NYC players, especially the emp guys. God i hate fighting them because they have like 3 accounts. ><*
What if they’re merely hiding their power level? (ie. BP is low, but is really a good player)
Assuming that you have the exact same name on XBL, GG’s from those times I ran into you on ranked. (I was illmaticmonkey).
Did we? Who were you playing?
Who was I playing?
GGs regardless, I’m just trying to remember the matches…
Gasp! That’s a DBZ moment right there. Yeah i’m messing up this guy…wait what. WTF AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! -100+ bp…
All I have to say is don’t lose, and thank GOD you Xbox players don’t have to deal with Couch Co-op.
I was playing Cody/Hwo and you were playing Julia/Hwo. You won the first match, then we bumped into each other again and I *think *I won but I could be wrong.
Yeah, I think you won the second.
I was just wondering if I was playing one if my whack job teams.
Still trying to find the right partner for alisa since Bryan got gimped.
You actually might be able to do more damage with Ken after the patch since his :lp: shoryuken will float the opponent higher up than it does now (it will deal 10 less damage but that is insignificant), meaning you could probably replace the cr.:mk: at the end of your combo with a cl.:hp: making the combo do greater overall damage.
25th anniv. France tourney top 8 (in Frenglish though… :D):

I’m actually excited for the Ken changes in the new patch. Overall, I expect him to be a lot more popular. As you say, the 10 damage nerf is insignificant, as if he combo into ClSt.Hp post patch, he’ll deal a lot more damage.
Also, here’s how the combo looks in real time, and you guys get to see what colours people have to deal with.

his personal damage will rise. His team damage will go down with hp dp nerf. He’ll be a better anchor with super arts buff. So jumping in on ken at 2 meters may be suicide cause he can now lp dp without minimal trade or he can flat out down super arts and do 300+ damage. Ken’s stock will rise come back so don’t sleep on him fellas.
if you don’t mind, can you please share this on the ken boards?
your team seemed pretty dope, mainly your Julia and how you kept catching my backdashes O_o
