I don’t feel like he is broken. He is a heavy zone character but once you get in its over.

The Jacks that people are playing right now are pretty terrible to be 100% honest. Good thing the army is small enough where you wont run into ones that are really all that good.
Not to sound like a dick but there is no “best Jack” right now. Just a bunch of people fiddling around the character. Sadly, the Cross Tekken community of players who generally play have no fundamentals. If you don’t have fundamentals and footsies, Jack will run all over you.
Having experince with Trap Characters from older Titles helps to.
Also, Sadly, Jack-X is everything Zoners want to be.
Im writing an “article” about Jack to help inform people better. Another problem is people have a lot of misconceptions about this character that I need to put to rest.
The smarter people get about Jack, the smarter I can be as a player.
I love Siesmo DPing people all day for free but I dont learn anything from it. I have Fundamentals so I just run trains through people, its pretty pathetic.
I dunno about broken, but he has very good defensive options, so I wouldn’t say it’s over if you get in. I would argue incredibly aggravating because a lot of characters have no good way of dealing with him.
Well that team is really good. I am surprised you thought I was catching backdashes, usually I really struggle against that.
I agree, at least on the American scene anyway. Gamerbee has a pretty good Jack-X. Other than that I haven’t seen any really smart ones. All of them pretty much spam Anti-Air attack and Surprise attack but then again what more can they do?
Honestly, The reason why people aren’t as good in SFxT is because they lack fundamentals. The boost chain system has given players the perceptions that it is ok to ignore spacing, footsies, and calculated zoning. Thats not good because in this game, on wrong jump in can lead to 350-700 damage and that is meter dependent with no gems.
I’m sure we will see a REALLY good Jack-X emerge soon.

I’ve been grinding hard with him man. I’m still farily new to Cross Tekken ( I picked it up again when DLC dropped) but with that being said, the cross tekken system is so intuitive and simple so my transition to this game has been really simple.
Playing Gief X Jack does not hurt either.

Watching this just brought back some painful memories, I remember watching this before Sakura was out and was really hyped for her combo potential and when she came to the game, she was really stripped down, I love the character and I main her in AE and Alpha series and read the mangas etc., but she’s so goddamn boring and ass and limited in this game and it makes me sad and her round win pose gives me a headache, although I love her super and cross art.
Only 165? I am disappoint. Get back in there and get 300!

Jack is a dumb character. There is some interesting things going on there, but the way he’s set up now is just dumb.
He’s not the only culprit on that count…
Yeah that team sounds like its strong. Both of those characters address many matchup problems. The DLC is also what kept me playing. If it wasn’t for Lei I would have stopped but the DLC gave the game life.

i don’t play this game much ( or at all until 2013 drop ) but i’m wondering why jack and cody was some of the best characters in this game? thnx in advance.

Jack has a lot of good keep away that would make sim jealous. Seismo is a low attack which forces you to jump and jack has a dp which is really good and does big damage, oh did i mention too that his super arts can hit you even if you’re whiff a jump from half screen, it’s nuts. Jack also has 1150 hp and once you get in his face you’re usually down on life and in some cases he can counter pick your whole team. Jack’s only real weakness is some rich girl. Go figure lol.
cody is just brain dead. You can play him in such auto pilot it’s not even fun. He has safe boost combos that some characters cannot punish. He does some monster damage as well.
In the long run one character is just built to zone and deal with certain characters while the other can three frame cr.lk you into stupid damage and the reach on that short is also retarded as well.
