SFV ranked rematches, do you like them...?

I’m really enjoying it - mostly because I have limited time to play, and it cuts down on waiting. But as a few people have mentioned, rage-quitting is really killing it, especially in the second or third match. I’m only bronze, and I thought it’d be players ranked even lower who were RQing, but it seems to be fairly evenly distributed across the LP spectrum.

The only time I don’t rematch is if I play someone whose LP are multiple times higher than mine, where the first match was just me getting battered without any response!

How can you like a mode where a RQ can win the first match, take the points and then leave as he please if he loose the other games.
Is a great idea, but at the moment is just ruined by childish players. And we are still waiting, people just screamd for single player content when the first thing, the FIRST PRIORITY for the march update should have been a fix for the rage quitting, not alex, or colors and titles in the shop, not trials, but a totally rethink of the matchmaking, with a low priority for the rage quitters.

Yes ragequits are killing it for real.

And no bronzes are not the people who ragequit the most, it’s honestly mostly silvers (including super and ultra) and golds (mostly regular gold). I guess silvers RQers want that achievement and gold RQers think they are too good to loose.

I like it, especially because both players have the choice whether or not they rematch.

The only upside, for now, is that it cuts off loading times. Everything else is badly designed: points are awarded after every match, the “2 out of 3” can end at 1 - 1 if both players don’t accept, if there is a big point gap and the player with the most points wins the set but loses one match, he’s still probably in LP deficit, and so on.
A true 2 out of 3 should be standard in ranked, and points should be awarded only at the end of the set.

I like it a great deal. It’s taken a lot of matches from “wait, what the fuck happened?” to giving me enough time to figure out what’s going on and how to play against this person. It’s always interesting to see how people play, and it’s a lot less frustrating when you can run it back. I’m glad it’s optional, though. Sometimes something comes up and I don’t have time for a second round. Or, more occasionally, the connection is awful and the rollback is hitting hard. I suppose I wouldn’t mind if you didn’t gain points if you backed out, or gained less for doing one match instead of going 2 out of 3…

I’m just glad the feature is in, really. Best addition to the game thus far.

The downside of a true 2/3 is that they absolutely need to put in an immediate win/loss for RQ’ing or else that could lead to people wasting double or triple your time with no gain for you and no penalty for them (and most people who RQ are not very good, so the experience of the fight probably wasn’t worthwhile either).
I also get that some players don’t always have time to do 2/3, which is why I think it should be an agreement beforehand whether to do one match or a 2/3 and then everything either gets rewarded at the end of the set or as soon as someone quits.

You’re right about rage quitting, but the time though…come on, you can’t find three minutes to play a match? People play hour long games of league and dota and no one complains about time. If you get a call, your son jumps out of the window, or your cat catches fire, just go afk. The worse that can happen is that you lose some points

Maybe a kind of incentive for rematch could help. Let say you win the first one, perhaps yo should earn 5 or 10 extra points if you win the second one

WTB option to just have rematches turned off; I hate going to that screen and hitting yes (Everytime) and then they leave after a few seconds of deliberation. I like going pretty quickly in sets…sooo waiting between matches is bleh.

This.

I honestly don’t know why people take ranked seriously, with all the RQing and people gaming the system.

They should force you to choose whether you want FT2 in the settings, reward being greater LP payout. Actually, it’d be great if LP bonuses in general were a thing. Extra LP for EX/CA finishes, time remaining, health remaining, that kind of thing. Even goofy stuff like bonuses for cleanly taunting someone would be fun.

I like the 2 out of 3. I usually rematch anyone as long as the connection isn’t bad. I like having the option mostly due to connection factors and being able to win or lose points twice provides incentive for people to play again as opposed to just 1 and run.

It’s hilarious how many people are so invested in their points though. People leaving after one game when the matches are competitive and the connection is good is funny to me.

Just got the game 2 nights ago, and am at 3600lp off of pure reads and fundamentals since my game knowledge is obviously way behind, but I’ve made a vow to always rematch, regardless of the skill and/or points difference, since my only goal is to learn more at this point in time. Only exception being if the other player is super fucking laggy to where I’m just teleporting all over the place which just pisses me off more than anything.

I feel as if it is common courtesy to run AT LEAST 2/3 (preferably BO5 or more), since I’ve always been that nigga who gets salty if I feel I’ve been cheated out of a runback when the previous game(s) were already close to begin with.

I love the rematch system, but there is still not enough reason to play ranked for me. I want the gold title, but not willing to wait three minutes between matches, deal with the rage quitters, or play for points in lag filled matches. I’d rather just get a good battle lounge going and play more matches.

paired with the really, really bad matchmaking system i am not a fan of it.
you can now farm the easy way against people who have 1500 or 2000+ less points then you.
or you get farmed by said people who have more points then you.

out of 15 matches i had only 2 against people with nearly the same points.
i count people with 500 to 1000 more/less points as that.

capcom is really a incompetent fuckshit of a company when they really think a decent matchmaking system should pair
you with people who are 3-4 leagues above or under you…and that all the fucking time!

waaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh

had two ppl today who did RQ on the third match
onlydeath 5900 LP birdie from spain and the other name I couldn’t remember with some numbers in it.
hella annoying
just avoid to BO3 these ppl I will post some more names later of today when I have RQtters who quit on 3rd match

I am a fan of sets over single matches, so I’m enjoying the fact it’s there.

I will say, I do think the way points are distributed when playing someone of a lesser rank who chooses to rematch needs to be repurposed. You can do a whole set and go 2/1, but still lose out on like a hundred points or something because of how low their rank is. I feel like if someone wins the set, they should always come out of the game with more points (even if it’s like 5 points) than when they went in. My personal opinion though.

Yeah, I’ve found those rage quitters happen a lot. It’s like they are accepting enough to go even, but just not willing to accept losing. A slight step up from the ones that won’t allow you to win period.

Im torn. On my quest to getting Gold (and getting the Gold trophy for it) I played the scumbag and only rematched players who were leagues above me so I could steal points. Once I got the trophy though I started rematching regularly. I still deny matches that I feel were a stomp either in my favor or theirs as those matches dont seem worth it to me.
