Unfortunately, people are rage quitting more and more now and refusing rematches lol
Glad the majority of people seem to like it I play this game infrequently, I’m more focused on Tekken. So, I like that you get multiple chances to win now.
Though, I like Tekken’s system better, displaying your win ratio instead of giving points. That’s a much better motivator than points. The points are just irritating. Having an emberassing win lose ratio for everyone to see is pure motivation.
In casual as long as it seems like a good match (not a newb and not garbage lag) i’ll rematch no problem. But in ranked I find my self trying to game the system and only rematch when its optimal for me and gaining points.
I love the feature actually as I have lost to people that I felt that given another round or two I would have figured them out. I played ten matches online and only one of them didn’t want a rematch.
people refusing rematches is becoming more common. I assume this means they don’t win rematches with much frequency…hence the refusal…or they just don’t like doing rematches lol
Like I suggested in the lounge thread, I think 2/3 should be an agreement before the match and not after a match, but so far no one has RQ on me and only one person refused to play the 3rd match in a set. At least there’s less wait time in between playing, but it could be improved. I don’t know if that ragequitting nullifying the whole set thing is true, but if so, that could end up being a bigger problem than the previous RQ nonsense.
There are valid reasons to not go to rematch. I never rematch if the connection was bad regardless of if I won or lost. People also get phone calls / friends that come visit / children that need attention. I don’t think it should be universal in an online Environment. I’ve had rollback fests where the opponent was glad to rematch me afterwards and I had no intention to.
If it’s a terrible lag, and SFV can be bad, I won’t rematch. That’s a reasonable exception. I don’t think anyone should fight in extreme lag Just move on to the next fight, hopefully you have better luck (or win again). I know people that have wives and kids and jobs, they still play…they don’t play ranked though, because they get interrupted frequently.
Sometimes I rematch, sometimes I don’t. Lag is the obvious reason not to. If there is a huge discrepency in skill either way I also don’t see the point.
This may be contentious, but I also almost never rematch Ryu or Ken. One of the best features of the rematch option is that it gets me more matches with varied characters.
When I do rematch I always finish the set unless there was some bad lag in the 2nd game.
I like the implementation a lot. Choice is the way to go.
The rematch function should not be a choice past a certain rank. Super Silver or Gold after a certain rank if you play someone of equal or greater rank rematch should be mandatory.
Anyone who doesn’t rematch 100% of the time is just bad.
I like the feature because it means less waiting between games.
I hate when people refuse a rematch after a close game. I won’t lie shit leaves me hella salty. Speaking of RQ’s why the fuck would you quit in a casual match? You have nothing to lose and as a matter of fact you still gain EXP.
tbh, matchmaking has been sucking for me since the game came out, and two days ago I set my battle settings to only allow 4-5 bars. All of a sudden I’m getting matches every 30 seconds instead of every 15 minutes. It’s a real breakthrough, I was on 3-5 before. Makes me wonder how their matchmaking code works, I’m guessing when you set it to 3 bars some people appear higher bar than they really are on the first scan, then you try to connect to them and it fails, and you just repeat that a ton.
As for rematches? I love this stuff. It’s like a whole different game, the fights feel so much more intense and makes up for the lack of “Custom Match” like in SF4, where I could just rematch that one goddamn person that I know I can beat and is just doing something I need to figure out the solution to.
I’m guilty, I’ve left, but it was less about taking the points and more about being done with Street Fighter for the day. If I won the match and sort of dominated them I usually wait and see if they’ll respond, I feel bad initiating the slugfest.
