Cr.hp looks and sounds like a strong ass button. Thereâs no contest there. Cr.mp still looks buff to me because of the faster startup and lower recovery. Itâll be safer to poke out at some ranges and -4 doesnât really matter if youâre outside of jab range. All of Simâs long range pokes are either -4 or -5 and they donât get punished at the range Falke can use her cr.mp. She still has her long range lights as well. The more I think about, the more solid she gets in my mind.

Youâre definitely right about the c.MP. Itâs basically Sim status as far WTF they gonna do if they block it any way. Like Sim it feels like sheâll have solid white chip potential and will get people to move and be antsy just because she keeps building it up with safe long ass buttons while zoning with air fireballs. The range sheâs going to be able to bnb from off lights seems really good like you said. Thereâs a pretty good range where you can do c.LK, s.LP, V Skill so you can check their toes and stuff nice and early. Plus Iâm sure c.LP x 2 V Skill will be a thing.
As for anti cross ups, if youâre talking ground based AAs there probably isnât much. From what they seemed to test youâre not going to have like a Sakura/Bipson c.HP or Boxer s.MP that will hit people in the back while youâre standing. Like Karin youâll likely have to go to the air with a jump button or use her air throw.

Looking and glancing over Falkes normal data, she may be better at block pressure than most ârushdownâ characters, she can stop characters backdashing and getting air reset between hits in a blockstring multiple times in one string.
St.lk being +3 setups up a bunch of 1f traps into other lights, as well as St.mp setting up 1f traps to deter backdashing. This is big for people who always try to worm out of pressure via backdashes, and we can be sure Falkes block pressure is strong, strangely strong for a poke based character, sheâs breaking SFV conventions with her data.
Her air fireball is guaranteed to be a staple in her game looking at footage, the angle it comes down from and that fact that it completely freezes Falkes jump arc whilst being able to be done from jump back is pretty broken by SFV standards, you wonât fuck with her neutral and wonât win a fireball war.
My only issues are -
Oki. 20f dash, no viable oki to use strong close options?
Hurtboxes. Saw them as quite large in footage, maybe preemptive hurtboxes are large? Problem when fighting dominant CC normals?
Lack of fast whiff punisher - didnât see any fast normals to whiff punish with/contest with, none of her mids are 5f - all look 6F+ - light attacks only for whiff/turn taking.
Dashing and mobility - dashing oki and using dash to move around quite prominent, Dhalsim and Menat avoid this issue with air drills but Falke doesnât have, possibly an issue.
Linearity - Seems slightly linear but neutral tools should render that a nonissue

Gonna continue rambling.
Air control looks incredibly strong, PP appears to have some upper body invinc but we did see it trade. Cr.hp is a half screen AA thatâs fast, if I see anyone complain about her AA being weak Iâm gonna explode.
Damage output is slightly above average meterless, gets around 230 for mid - mid, but she has fierce - mid - mid combos that surely do around 280. Metered damage didnât look incredible however, the juggle from EX.Katapult will need to be heavily explored.
VT1 is my personal GOAT, Iâm thinking VT2 is one massive gimmick unless you can create frame traps into the overhead via normal cancels so you canât jab/normal her out of it. The way Iâm seeing it is VT2 gives up a +oB VTC and gives her an Abigail flip? Not appealing. VT1 gives stronger fireballs and you can still juggle with them, so it seems to offer way more. Very short lived however.
Her St.hp looked confirmable from the footage shown, has a late cancel property I believe.
Her counter hit damage is very high due to St.mp being +8 naturally, big combos ahoy.
We need to know if she can stack Zonk charges, if she canât that removes quote a substantial layer from her fireball game. However you can always just do Zonk > begin charging Zonk immediately to have pretty much endless fireballs. Can hopefully begin charging a new Zonk during Zonk animation.
Falke is thick and thatâs all that matters. From thickness comes immersion and from immersion comes the wins.
She does seem to lack Oki, but her bnbâs put the opponent right back into neutral. She most likely will struggle with a large life deficit.
20F dash is fast to me, even her walkspeed.
One thing I donât like is how unsafe her F.hp is. Itâs too minus on block for such a slow startup and reovery, but it is CC with lol no hurtbox. Might be completely fair.

The air fireball definitely lets her control space in a way that no one else can. Doing the air fireball in any direction and halting the momentum basically allows her to effect positions of the screen that right now only V Skill Dhalsim comes close to doing. Mixing up between jumping forward or back with buttons or air fireball will make her tough to challenge while youâre on the ground.
s.LK definitely has some Season 1 Karin things about it.
Not sure if 20F forward dash is an issue when its pretty much the dash you are forced on if you have Menat or Sim levels of button range. Both Sim and Menat have 20F forward dashes and 24/25 frame backdashes. Either way her walk speed looks at least as good as Menatâs or slightly better which is plenty for her range and makes her much more viable to move along the ground with than Sim. Which either way with her jump buttons and her air fireball she should be in the air a lot also. She even has a bootleg version of Menatâs j.HK and a dive that can also be done with any jump.
No fast whiff punishes is an issue, but not sure if thatâs going to be like the huge crippling thing for her considering her range and how she has some of the longest lights that can convert into bnbs. Plus because of her archetype its hard to have those types of buttons any way.
I think with how well she should be able to wall herself with her air options she wont have to push the typical SFV offense all the time. I feel she can be like a Guile where she concentrates more on stopping people from doing that to her.
Damage is good, yup. VT1 way to go. Like you said itâs probably not super unga and doesnât last too long, but if her tools come out as good as they look on paper she will likely be like a Guile or Rashid where the V Trigger powers up her gameplan, but she can easily win matches without 50 percent damage swings on the V Trigger.
s.HP definitely looks confirmable and only being minus 3 with that range is great. Gonna be great with VT1
Definitely gonna be a wait and see thing for the Zonk although I think itâs pretty safe to assume that Zonks wont stack. Charging immediately after releasing zonk seems to be the likely case for reloading her fireballs. ALTHOUGH that reminds me that I should check some footage to see whatâs going on with her charges.
LOL yeah when youâre a Sim player, Falkeâs walk speed looks good and the dash is average for that archetype. I do like the idea of a character that just lands bnbs to keep space rather than having to pursue oki or be kicked out of meta. Hopefully her range game into bnbs promotes this like it does for Guile.
Ideally Iâd like to play a game where if I do get in Iâd like to abuse s.MP and standing low, but if not there just fish into v skill and s.HP confirms depending on range and pew pew with air and prone fireballs.
Take into account the range f.hp has. Even thought youâre -10 due to the range of the normal you can likely press it again because nobody has a normal capable of contesting your range.
Just imagine Vega f.hp but better.
