SFV Lounge: SRK Cross Tag Battle

I’ve only seen the first paragraph but you realise of lot of those funny DBZ vs MVCI memes came from the Marvel community right.

It’s own community called it a bad game, not for lack of gameplay mind you.

Cammy players are wild.

You ARE fucking insane and you ARE a complete fucking tool. You actually think the DBFZ Community is this Machiavellian Organization seeking to destroy every other FG so it can reign supreme. You’re a complete fucking nutjob.

Most of the DBFZ community IS the Marvel community xd

Idek wtf is going on any more.

Yea, there were never any memes about infinite before dbfz was announced :expressionless:

…yeah, I don’t know what I expected.

The DBFZ community isn’t the one who spread all that. MvC:I did it to itself and the ENTIRE FGC were ragging on it because frankly it did look like trash and Capcom’s PR department wasn’t helping.

None of what you mentioned is exclusive to DBFZ and I haven’t seen any examples of just the DBFZ community causing those kinds of problems. It just looks like you’re salty that DBFZ became the main game instead of the new Marvel so now you’re attacking it and demanding it be removed.

If anything all that would prove is that there are assholes in all corners of the FGC who want to kill anything they don’t like. Which is exactly what you’re trying to do right now in the name of some nonsensical “justice” or whatever.

Just going to repeat this a third time

DBFZ community is made up almost entirely of Marvel community from pre release, MVCI community was never attacked by them, it WAS them. It was a fucking joke.

I make Smash jokes every time someone brings it up, I’m sorry I can’t be respectful at this that was fucking retarded you just brought up the twitter memes as destructive LMFAOOOOO

Also the fact that they’re “targeting SFV” now is hilarious 'cause SFV has been the target of the FGC ever since its release, way before DBFZ was ever even a thing

I think every game jests at the others that way.

Tekken jests at SF, SF jests at Smash, DBZ jests at Marvel.

The people who are actually toxic and need mindset changes are, well. Go reread your post Miria, you just called for a communities death. That’s what you should be against. Strongly recommend you rethink your stance on how to treat a community you dislike.

Smash players are weird, a lot of the pros seem childish and cling to Melee for dear life and a lot of em stink like shit, but like. They have fun with their game, and behind generalisations and jokes that’s all that group needs.

No community has to die, if a game truly dies, it’s usually down to its own community abandoning it. Infinite is a product of that, not other communities. The Melty Blood community still exists, fucking MELTY BLOOD. THEY GET RAGGED ON EVERY TOURNAMENT.

I should be against that, but it’s hard when it’s my community that their community wants dead.

Guess that was a rant I had to take out of my system.

Communities only die when it’s community abandons it’s game. Other people making fun jabs at games won’t do anything to one of them.

Infinite is a product of poor company support and a lack of faith from its community.

SFV would be dead without that company support and faith of community.

KOF 14 is dead. DOA6 killed it.

You think that’s bad, imagine how I feel being a Smash player among all the Smash memes people make here XP

People make jabs against other games, sometimes for fun and other times it’s more toxic in nature. The latter sucks but it’s the age of the internet, not much that can be done aside from continuing to support the games you like.

Even DBFZ has been a target, I’ve seen plenty of people attacking it over ABC combos and what have you (or what Cipher was going on about). There’s toxic people in every community. Just gotta sift through the bad and find the good.

Not like SFV is dying any time soon even with all the people who hate it.

ABC combos are a thing that I wont complain about with any fighter because in 99 percent of the fighters they are very unoptimal. I think Persona is the last game I know where the ABC/auto bnbs were actually regularly used in tournament. Even then without neutral you wont land those combos.

Damn you, DOA6!
Damn you and your sexy ladies! I have no option now but to play it when it releases! :stuck_out_tongue:

I honestly don’t think SFV is going anywhere. Even if the community actually did leave, it won’t be because the DBFZ community rags on SFV - it would be because Capcom did some incredibly heinous stuff with the franchise. But I believe they know what they’re doing and it’ll be around as long as communities like ours support the game.

I remember striding into TKA Bugis Junction in 2008 with a plastic bag full of tokens, thinking I could take on the world. Street Fighter IV had just came out in the arcades. Almost a hundred people would stand shoulder to shoulder around the machines every Friday night, all of us invincible in our own heads.

I ran out of tokens after ten minutes. “Buay sai lah!”, someone hollered.

Over time though, it became twenty minutes till the tokens ran out. Then half an hour, then two hours. Who knew fifty cents could last so long? Slowly, I began losing less. Slowly, I wasn’t the only one walking the walk of shame back to the token aunty. After a while we’d recognize faces, put names to faces.

Soon enough we’d trade “good game” for “eh supper leh!” Some of us would eventually travel together, visit each other at Chinese New Year, send wedding invitations, hold baby showers. Some went on to win world championships. Some fell in love, fell out of love. Some we’d never see again.

A few of us played Street Fighter IV again a couple Sundays back, packed shoulder to shoulder just like ten years ago. Lenn Yang (the true OG) had organised an anniversary tournament. I was rustier than a nail. A friend said he had to ask his wife to watch the shop that day. Some stayed home to take care of the kids. The turnout was a fraction of the old Bugis days - but really, who knew fifty cents would last this long?

Saw this on my timeline. This embodies everything I love about the fighting game community. Proud to say I’ve met lifelong friends through this activity.

Meeting up with people in the Arcade to throw-down was always a great hobby. There’s no Arcade for that now, but it can be replicated to an extent with online. Either way, the spirit of fighting games is still going strong nowadays.

There was a time when I’d waste time going back and forth over the toxicity until I realized how pointless it was. A lot of the idiots who instigate these things don’t even play the games. I remember this one guy who’d always go on about how Xrd was the best thing ever and how SFV sucked so bad. Funny part is he spent most of his time bitching and playing SFV and he didn’t even have Xrd. The very game he was dickriding is a game he refused to play because it was “too complex”.

Stupid people incite fighting game turf-wars. Stupid people say stupid shit. Let them waste their time spewing crap. You don’t need to feed in to it. Tune that shit out like the background noise that it is.

Yeah, I honestly think I let the dumb stuff I see on the internet get to me too easily. It’s just something that’s been going on for a long time at this point.

My biggest issue with sfv is the netcode.
I’ve been enjoying playing it for the last few days after being on a 3 month break (I’ve bought oled and a great wheel, so hdr/racing games were a priority).
I just cannot figure out if I really like 3.5 changes or if I just enjoy it as I use the best character in the game.

That’s what happens when you use that tweeter thing too much. I dont get on the tweeter.
