Yeah this is the fake news stuff that’s all over social media. You’ll probably meet a few guys like that at a tourney, but most of it is a lot of the sit at home people trying to instigate their agenda for X fighter game.
I’m sure Russia eventually will get involved to influence certain games over social media. Actually that’s probably happening with DBFZ now.

I always got the impression MvC:I died because people had enough of Capcom’s incompetence and there was something better on the horizon. Can’t say I blame them if so.
I don’t play switch-out fighters myself because gross, but I would’ve done the same if I did play them.
It looked like a perfect storm. The half-assedness of SFV on launch was still fresh in people’s memories, MvC:I looked like crap with no budget, gameplay was fine but simplified (like SFV) even though it still had broken stuff like previous games, support and the tour were handled poorly, and DBFZ looked like money and would attract a big fanbase.
MvC:I didn’t stand a snowball’s chance in hell.
It’s kinda like how EA community had the last straw with Battlefront 2. Glad Infinite’s community said “no.” upon it’s release, it forces Capcom to recognise effort is required for them to compete with ArcSys and Bamco who are solidifying themselves in the FG market right now.
Bamco games like Tekken and DBFZ seem truer to casualisation without impacting the games for veterans. Even though Tekken is still lacking a tutorial, which I think would be a clusterfuck considering the games depth.

No excuse for no tutorial in a game as jargon heavy as Tekken. Give people something if you know your game requires breakdancing just to move around. Tourney nerds are the only ones that are going to research otherwise and it’s still a game where if you aren’t playing against the tops in it regularly you are just way extra far behind.
MVCI was just mismanaged entirely. The game has a great battle system, but is unfortunately subpar in every other area.
-The presentation such as the artstyle, ost, and voice acting were awful
-Uninspired roster. No X-Men was a terrible idea. Lack of new characters was bad as well
-Terrible communication. Calling the characters “functions” and implying no one would remember the X-Men was incredibly dumb. These omissions were not on Capcom, but those comments were.
On top of the above, you had MrWiz making Twitter polls asking if MVCI was dead, which would obviously add to the issue. The game had a terrible launch, and missed its sells target, but the game had a solid community. It had no issue drawing more entrants than most of the games featured at Evo. Once it was clear that the game wouldn’t be at Evo or apart of the CPT, that’s when the community stopped playing.
ASW and Bamco struck when the iron was hot and made the most of the opportunity. Having said that, as fun as Cross Tag is, it’s very clear that the game was thrown together and rushed out for Evo. The fact that the game had Evo stickers on it attests to this. The content is also hella barebones. Doesn’t even have an Arcade Mode.
Since when people aren’t allowed to play what they want? I don’t like DBZF either, but I’m OK with people playing that game. More players into the FGC the better, this discussion is useless.
