The “problem” with strong v triggers is less that they are strong and more that they are by and large the strongest thing in a game with super weak tools in general.
This is one of the hardest games I’ve played as far as,trying to keep the opponent cornered. But it has little to do with characters having strong tools to get out of the corner like some games. Nope, it has to do with characters
Having very bad “pokes” in general and having to get to close to the cornered opponent at which point the cornered opponent can just jump crossup out or do a wall jump or something. This didn’t happen in older games because you could be offensive without being point blank and “giving” your opponent the crossup opportunity.

It’s funny to see people get upset over re-used assets in a genre long known for pallet swaps. I mean, look at 3S shotos. It’s the same model with a different head on it. Game still looks good, and Ryu, Ken and Akuma play different enough. How many different ways can you animate a cr.mp without it looking weird?

Well, back to ultra silver now that I am sticking with Gief while Sakura takes a well deserved break (mostly so that I don’t crush this hori mini out of frustration before I have the proper replacement.)
I should do some casual sets in the next few days to get acclimated to fighting gold rank opponents like a reasonable woman… but I am a stubborn, unreasonable one and will dip right back into ranked tomorrow night instead.

Well, I’m not disappointed in this e3 but…bu nott super excited either. Only anthem, doom 2, star field, ES6 and potentially spiderman were only the best things. Everything else was meh. Oh and that crash reveal which was a letdown (a new level is nice but nothing I was expecting).
Death stranding is also odd. So…a stealth horror-ish game with exploration?
And a certain website couldn’t help themselves and had to write about it, making mountains outta mole hills as usual.
At minimum he’ll be a lesser Urien basically so that’s not bad so far for Cody. Just not sure how no 3 frame light and no EX reversal is going to hold out. That’s pretty rough defensively unless bad spray is the magic for defense. Only other character that has it that bad defensively is Alex (could argue Vega but his backwalk is OD and has a 3 frame light).
It’s getting closer
Only idiots use still images to imply animations are the same. Hell if you have working eyes, you’d see that the still images aren’t the same.
Well, the images are similar, no doubt about it. As I said before we can add to them his st.lk really closer to Birdie’s one, but who cares? Those moves gonna work differently anyway, isn’t really a problem.
Animations are the same or they aren’t. It’s been two years of this bullshit. The animations aren’t recycled that would require the same animation. You can’t say Cody’s animations are bad in one breath and say they are recycled in the other either.
There are plenty of reasons to give SFV shit. The netcode and input lag are two prime examples. Creating reasons that don’t exist makes you a troll or an idiot for regurgitating something without checking the source.
Animation is one of the few things Capcom should be commended for. NRS and Namco recycle animations constantly. SFV has like fifteen different versions of a standing knee attack. Nash and Guile share several moves but the animations for them are unique.
The issue is the assets aren’t recycled. People are just saying they are because they are trolls and/or idiots.

in a game that’s geared towards heavy rushdown cody is without a doubt worse defensively than SF4 on top of of not having a reversal. players are gonna have to focus a lot on footsies and anti air practice so he doesnt get mauled to death. i hope bad spray has the ridiculous hitbox of sf4 where it hit even over cody’s head that at least can make the opponent hesitate when they knock you down
