I enjoyed it until Top 8. Both Punk and Johnny have pretty much the same playstyle bar a couple of preferred buttons and considering how far both of them got you had a Karin in almost every match. I’m sure there are a lot of people who can appreciate Punk’s almost flawless playstyle but I’d rather watch a diverse pool of characters played at a level you don’t see online. Bit of Gief here, bit of FANG there and not to mention MOV who continues to make Chun look like a viable tournament pick.
That said Top 8 was from 1 a.m. to about 6 a.m. where I live so there never was a question of watching it live anyway.

I couldn’t watch Top 8 but I can’t say I had any interest anyway. More Karin doing Karin things. If this was S1 or 2 sure let’s see it but over 3 years in im tired of it. Same with Ibuki and Rashid. I hate Rog but seeing Brian F pull him into Top 8 was nice.
But I enjoyed watching MOV Chun and the FGCJesus guy playing FANG more than anything. The rest felt like the same old shit.
